Grand Hotel de Flandre  

Almost everything. Its location and general ambience. The room and bed which were perfectly equipped and very comfortable. The fact that the hotel had an agreement with the nearby multi-story car park allowing me to park there completely free.

Its a pity that the hotel has no restaurant (except for breakfast) lthough there are many eating places nearby.

Nice view on the city's station. Kind, warm receptionist, both in the evening when we arrived as in the morning. And they DO have real beds for couples instead of those "twin beds for business colleagues" :-) The morning buffet was right what we had hoped for: ample choice of almost everything we like here in Belgium. ( It seems to help that they are in Belgium as well ? )

The staff was very friendly. The breakfast place was very nice and warm.

The size of the room was too small. We could hear the noise between rooms.

Excellent location just across the road from the railway station. Certainly no noise from outside due to the quadruple-glazed windows! Buffet breakfast was good.

I'm sure it was 'Grand' at some point but seems to be suffering from faded glory. Maybe it's time for a refresh. I would stay again purely for the location.

Excellent service perfect location very quiet and clean

The location was excellent, the staff was friendly and helpful, the breakfast was decent. You are just a couple blocks away from the charming pedestrian zone of the city, so the location is wonderful for walking around the city.

The room was rather cramped. The biggest challenge for a first time visitor with a car is that there is nowhere to stop even for just a minute near the hotel to drop off luggage and find out where the parking is. Once you learn how and where to park it is reasonably convenient and inexpensive.

Convenience of being across from the Railway Station having travelled on EUROSTAR.

Although there was free access to a PC / internet, both mine and my colleague's USB stick was corrupted through this computer network. May be having a small fee and timed access would reduce abuse of this medium.

I liked the location, close to the center of the old city. Our room was small but clean.

The lack of air conditioning in some of the rooms made the first night difficult. The fan provided the following day was very useful. The breakfast was good and the service fast but if you stay more than a couple of days you wish for some more variety.

The room was very nice and confortable.

Location was good - opposite the railway station and close to shops and restaurants.

We had to queue for breakfast on two of the three mornings of our stay as there were not enough tables and there was no-one to clear the tables.

Located on a busy main road facing the railway station the room had efficient triple glazing but the lack of air conditioning, together with foam mattress and pillows made for an extremely hot room at night.

Coffee in the room, great breakfast, excellent location
