It's a charming place but needs renovation and maintenance. Seems rather abandoned. Having a parking on the site was a big plus. The room was very basic. The shower cabin was clogged-up and lights were not working properly. Breakfast costs the same as a 5 stars Hotel ... but is not a 5 stars breakfast. I have to say I got disappointed with the general state of the building, specially the chapel. I was expecting more by seing the pictures on the internet. There was only one person at the reception and in the rush time of the check-out we had to wait a long time. I suggest you double check your invoice as to avoid a big confusion with the administration.

The senior stuff was very friendly, willing to help in an unordinary situation. (That was not about the hotel services) The location is perfect. The atmosphere of privacy, while being at the most central part of the city. I was placed at the room that was under construction work. The whole part of the hotel was, but they didn’t inform me of that fact before. Instead - a small apologizing letter was placed in the lift. My room was lucking a sink, that was supposed to be there, from the description I worked with.. Instead of the sink I had the whole in the wall.. As it was a room with a shared bathroom – I was under major inconvenience, as the bathroom (showers) had also no sink, and the toilet (located one floor downstairs) had only a tiny hand-wash tap. I asked for a room change immediately as I saw that, but I was told it was impossible, as it was the last single room of that type available.. . Also I was told that I get already compensated as that kind of room regularly doesn’t have a tv and a Phone. It does at the description I was ordering from! I had no choice, as I had very intensive schedule, thus to leave the hotel was even bigger inconvenience. I stayed in the original room, and brushed my teeth during my douche procedure.. Although I’ve got 25€ (total) compensation for that upon the check out (my stay was 3 nights long) – I steel feel the situation should have been treated in a different way.

Location is good. Not right in the town center, but a very easy walk. Wonderful historic site. Parking was only 10 euro and we were able to park before we checked in and were told we could leave the car for the rest of the day when we checked out. Breakfast add on was well worth it. Lovely dining room, decorated for Easter morning. Lots of chocolate Easter eggs and very good food. Beds were slightly uncomfortable but no complaints, I would stay here again. Good value.

A guest house with personality. Good shower, small room but clean and tidy. Very good location. Unfriendly staff that rather chat on the phone than help customers. She just completely spoilt my stay in this hotel. A bit on the expensive side for non en-suite rooms for solo traveller.

Very enjoyable night at the hotel. The staff were very helpful upon my arrival and advised me on what to see in the city. I thought the breakfast seemed overpriced so I chose not to have it.

The uniqueness of the hotel. It was like staying in a monastery! Located a short walk from all the sights and not far from the station. Very friendly and helpful staff. The guest rooms are good for budget travellers. Creaky floorboards in the room next door!

Ever helpful reception staff, lovely breakfast room and food, sense of history everywhere. Small room, with no mod cons, but comforting. The internet went down. With the lack of tv and telephone, I felt very cut off from the outside world - but that is not necessarily a bad thing. We didn't get the double rooms we booked, and were given single rooms instead. But they were a very good price.

This hotel is a former church and monastery, which gives a very special ambiance. Everything is clean and renovated. If you have to stay in Ghent for a business trip, or student conference, it is the perfect choice. They have also have meeting rooms or can organise events. There is free wifi, and in the bar you can connect even with a wire. Little pricey, but the breakfast (for 15 euro extra) is great. Please, replace those old brown very dusty blankets with a regular blanket like in a real hotel. Whilst sleeping, they slide on the ground and you wake up cause you have cold. Those brown blankets are really a hell for people with asthma and sensitive for dust. Please remove those old brown blankets. This will be a reason to not come back in the future or at least check firstly if they still use those blankets.

Impressive building (used to be a monastery), good location, 10 minutes away from the Graslei and central Ghent. The room and the facilities were better than I expected for the price. Squeaky floors! I could hear people walking around their rooms and the corridors all the time.

Everything was good, nice location, room with bathroom, clean and smooth. Breakfast is a way too expensive, and it was a bit chilly during night because the heating was turned off.

It was close to the city center, on the way between city center and Hotel you find very nice little stores and cafes. It was very close to the University , so that i could sleep a little longer before the presentations begann...This mistical atmosphere, dark and old, was very interesting...The staff was very friendly und helped me also in difficult situations(my lugagge was delayed, but i got toothbrush and paste!!!, very nice!) You can hear very good what your neighboor does. The walls are too thin...
