Only 9 miles from Bruges and Ostend, you can also easily go for some day trips in the surroundings. It's a friendly, family-run hotel and the owners are very thoughtful and helpful. The building has much charm, given its obvious age, and it possesses a certain 'warmth' immediately upon arrival. It's also not too large so the service and care are always personalised and the owners have time to chat with the residents and to share their local knowledge. The stunning seaside location and the sea-side views that appear in some of the advertising photos are, in reality, absent. Of course, in previous times, the hotel stood in a magnificent sea-view position with easy access to the sea for beach walks etc; today, the sea is not visible from the hotel as all sea views are blocked by hideous, modern sea-view apartments. The hotel and staff/owners remain nice, of course, but in choosing the hotel, we were influenced by the photos which turned out to be quite misleading in terms of the actual sea-side location and the easy walking access directly down to the beach paths. Of course, the access is still there but the visitor has to walk around all the ugly apartments that line the road that runs parallel with the coast.

- we kregen een deken in de plaats - ruime badkamer met eindelijk eens genoeg kapstokjes en een stoeltje -ruim bed, goede matras -mooi ontbijt en perfekt eitje - het donsdeken (te warm) - de leeslampjes onhandig en zwak van licht - de badhanddoek mag wat groter - chokolademelk lauw

pleasant, quaint & beautifully preserved Art moderne style, helpful & friendly staff, very clean, good breakfast buffet, not too expensive floors creak a bit, but otherwise room was simple, pleasant, quiet & everything worked well - including Wifi in the room
