Friendly, efficient staff. Very good buffet breakfast selection in rooftop [3rd floor] breakfast area. Quiet room as requested on booking. Central location; all historic sites accessible within a few minutes walk, though. Ghent town centre was one large building site at the time of our visit (and likely to remain so for years according to our taxi driver), with most of the main squares and many shopping streets defaced by road/tramline works. Cost of internet access was very high, so didn't use it. Wifi access at least should be something a 4* hotel can provide at zero - or nominal - charge, these days. |

Excellent location within the old city of Gent, large and comfortable room, marred by the constant noise from outside, even into the early hours of the morning. Staff were accomodating and friendly. One of our party had a ghostly experience in the room - debatable as to whether this is a positive or negative experience! Staff attempted to overcharge me on arrival; breakfast very expensive at 20 euros per person and notified faults in the bedroom not rectified over the 2 day stay. |

Have stayed at this hotel ~6 times in the past...but this was the first time with a riverside room. This was FAR better in terms of sleeping as I've normally had a street/alley facing room and so the street noise makes it more difficult for sleeping. Breakfast was as always, quite good and convenient and as always the staff at the front desk are very helpful with finding restaurants or transportation arrangements. Window latch was broken, so wind & rain would sometimes blow the window inwards and open. I was on an upper floor so at least the window did not pose a significant security risk. In room refridgerator was not working. |

Really nice rooms, we had one overlooking the water. Very nicely decorated and comfortable. Hotel is also in a very good location close by the centre. Rooms were spotless. No hotel parking but there is public parking very close by (about 10 Euro per 24h over the weekend, a bit more during the week). Plenty of excellent restaurants a short stroll away (the Patershol area is within a 2 minute walk), also good cafes for breakfast as an alternative to the rather expensive hotel breakfast. We definitely would select this hotel again and highly recommend it. Good value for money. Only minor things. Although we didn't use it you have to pay extra for internet usage in the hotel. You also have to pay extra for the hotel's sauna if you want to use it. |

The location of the hotel is excellent if you want to explore the city, but it is not worth four stars for the reasons mentioned below. Our room was not clean, the room was small (we booked the romantic arrangement that states you get a double luxury room), the presents were brought to our room (they were in the room next to ours, which was even smaller so we decided to stay in the first room) by the person who helped us at the check-in (looked as if she was the only staff present). The walls and the ceiling of the room were dirty. There was no bath in the bathroom (when you book a romantic arrangement and get luxury bath products you expect you can use them). The breakfast was fair, but not worth the money (breakfast was included in the arrangement but normally it costs 20 euros). In the morning there was a bucket with paint in the middle of the hall! |

It was in a very convenient location for the main sights of Ghent. I really do not think it was a 4* hotel - the decor was a little tired and the photos of certain areas was misleading - especially the bar area. Also I cleanliness was not fantastic - the room was definitely not vacuumed for the second day. |

Very peaceful, close to the city, good space in the room No tea making faciities in the room and very expensive breakfast (did not seem worth having when there are open air cafes in the town with better views) |

Breakfast was rather good! Location was perfect! The room we were given was under a massive generator that made a very annoying buzzing noise non-stop. As a result, it was very hard to sleep at night and even harder to watch the TV. The pillows and matresses were dreadful. There was a funny smell in the bathroom. |

Location was good The room was reserved as part of a special 'romatic getaway package' however there were several things included in the package that were not arranged so I had to follow up after check-in, ie champagne, surprise gift etc. Also the deluxe room had two single beds.....which for an advertised romantic package didn't really make sense or match the purpose of the room! |

Situated centrally, all places of interest in Ghent are in walking distance The room was not really clean, table and lamps quite dusty; 20€ per day for WLAN are absolutely not up to date, especially for a business hotel |

The location was very good for most things, easy walking distant to all sites and the shops and eating places, which were many. The people were very nice and friendly and helpful. Room's quite roomy and kept clean and tidy. Lovely breakfast and good choice to eat. Nice courtyard if you wanted to sit out and read the paper or book's. The river view was dissappointing which looked out over derelict warehouses, which doesnt show on the leaflet. |

Friendly, central, comfortable. Room all clean on arrival, next day towels were removed and they did not replace them with new ones, we had to ask at reception and then they only had small towels to give us. Shower gel was not replenished and between two people it soon ran out. Charging 9 Euros to use the sauna! |
