Location amazing, a really lovely hotel with all the necessary amenities but with added feel of luxury. Bar area was a treat and I enjoyed a relaxed brandy by the real fire one evening. All the staff were lovely without exception. The room was large enough and had a great view. Breakfast had many choices and hot coffee/tea brought to the table with as many refills as you wanted. All in all highly recommend.
I always like to have a window I can open and as this hotel is not very tall it was a slight shame there was no option to do this.
all very good its a shame we did not have more time there
Everything Good location Luxury accessories Friendly attentive staff Large clean rooms Comfortable beds Good breakfast
There was nothing I didn't like .
- The female staff, although professional, they are blunt and hostile, really disappointing. One of the women at reception shouted at a mature couple, because they enquired on the location of their room - obviously there was a breakdown in communication because the couple's English was poor. I would have expected that the receptionist would call a member of staff and ask them to escort the couple to their room. This really made me angry, the couple looked upset and they started asking us for direction! I ask the hotel management to give their staff some courtesy lessons. - Lighting in the room is dim - Cooked breakfast not that great. - wi-fi needs serious improvement
Took my partner to Bruges for her birthday, upon arrival we were given a complimentary upgrade to a better room due to the occasion. This was very kind but not something which I have factored into this review. The hotel has two parts, the old building which stands on the road just meters from the Burg square and the newer section which houses newer rooms and some of the other facilities in the basement level (conference rooms, breakfast room etc). The old part of the hotel has an extensive lounge area and bar that is beautifully appointed with high ceilings, huge doorways and sophisticated decor and furniture. I actually only discovered how lovely this was on the last day and wish we'd founds it sooner. It's also worth noting that for a local beer the bar prices are competitive and in many cases the same or cheaper than the market square cafes (€4.50 for a 33cl local beer), they also have an extensive list of good wines and some well priced cocktails. Accommodation was excellent, the room we had was large and the bed was comfortable and huge (thought I'd need a satnav to locate my partner in bed). The room was calming and nicely decorated with furniture fitting of the old building and locale. It was also well insulated for sound with no disturbance from other guests, the nearby elevator shaft or outside. The beautiful tiled bathroom was again large and combined a separate bath and huge wet room shower, the sink area had a huge mirror, smaller makeup mirror and by all accounts a decent hair dryer. For those periods of down time before or after dinner, after a long day of sight seeing (or while waiting for your beloved to get ready) the television did have the bbc channels so we could watch the news and other programs, this is minor and tv is not why we went away but it's nice to catchup with the news and to be fair on the first night we were both quite tired and had an early night ready for the first day of museums and climbing the belfry.
Wifi signal was a bit intermittent, used mainly for loading maps and booking tours/museums etc. Pillows were a little uncomfortable but I had no problem sleeping.
Location Building Room
free wifi is poor
Stayed in new part of hotel and was unable to open s window. Would have. Been nice to have the option of a little fresh air! But otherwise no complaints.
Very nice staff. They gave us an umbrella when it rained. Really nice room. Magic location.
Wifi was patchy in our room.
Location, ambience, staff. Breakfast was very good, parking on site and secure and we were upgraded on arrival.
Really liked the character and friendliness.
The room The shower Comfy bed Peace and quiet
Free wifi had a really weak signal. Hardly worth having for practical purposes. Breakfast VERY expensive at 25 euros so didn't partake
The decor was outstanding, felt very special and luxurious. The room was comfortable and we had a good night's sleep. The spa was an added bonus. Great location, short 1 minute walking distance to the burg, square and all shops. There are many places to eat waffles, frites, chocolate, drink a range of beers. Staff very friendly especially a man called Baptist who was really friendly and welcoming.we will definitely return in the future.
Wi Fi signal was not always good in the room. It would have made it easier if evening meals were catered for in the hotel, as local restaurants can be expensive and difficult to tell which ones are good but this is not a bad point just a consideration for the future.
Location was perfect .. A short walk to Mart and Burg. Excellent breakfast provided.
Would have been nice to have a restaurant in the hotel.
Beds were very comfortable, staff were friendly, location was great and hotel was very clean and luxurious.
Slight drain smell in bathroom on arrival and high price of breakfast meant we went out for coffee and croissant instead.
My sister, mother and myself shared a duplex quadruple room for two nights. It was spacious, luxurious and very quiet with lovely comfortable beds. The breakfast was good quality food and was delicious. The hotel has beautiful decor, the lounge and bar areas especially adorns magnificent chandeliers.
2 couples upgraded to superior rooms which were fantastic, spacious and so comfortable. 2 couples had the standard rooms which were slightly smaller but equally as comfortable. The bar, breakfast and sauna/steam room were amazing value, clean and luxurious
WiFi in the room was very hit and miss, who wants to Skype their kids in the reception!?
Car parking facilities. Bed. Room. Relaxing area. Chandler's. Staff.Bar. Shower. Lifts.in short everything.
Great location, lovely clean room in the new section overlooking the canal. Plenty of choice too at breakfast, from a full English to cereals, fruit, yogurt etc.
If you have a large vehicle then the Underground car park was very cramped and difficult to access / exit from on to a very narrow side street. Wi-Fi was very poor in the rooms. And the double bed was two singles pushed together.
The staff were informative, friendly and very professional. The hotel is stunning and I loved the flower arrangements. The room was spacious and well equipped. Loved the rain shower.
The exit to the car lift is very tight for larger vehicles
Hotel staff was friendly, room was better than expected, location was optimal. It's worth every penny.
The breakfast was too expensive.
Location. Excellent building. Very clean and comfortable. Excellent room, large comfortable bed, very well equiped bathroom, shower, toiletries, hair dryer, lovely fluffy clean towels. Excellent breakfast. Will definately use again.
One femal staff member who was sullen and rude and let her colleagues down.
This hotel has an excellent location, room is very good quality, staff were friendly.
Heating fan wasn't completely quiet, but it wasn't too disturbing.
Quiet - very clean - great breakfast.
Neighbouring room that seemed to have a large vodka party.
Ambience abounds in this lovely hotel. Great position. Friendly staff. Beatiful rooms and yes we did get upgraded. Reasonably priced.
There is a lift but floors have split floors with steps necessary so watch out if you have heavy bags.
