Beds - very comfortable Bathroom - smart, clean, good water pressure Breakfast - good selection Most staff friendly and helpful
Birds in cages in corridor On arrival, staff did not acknowledge us for a few minutes and were not particularly welcoming. Staff on reception and in the bar later were positive, friendly and heloful
Location was good
Rooms were just average and expensive for what they were. Also had to pay extra for use of basic gym and sauna facilities and robes.
Good things were staff and the hotel location - 10 minutes walk for the main city square.
They say they are a 4-star hotel, but they are more like a 2-star. Went for the new years eve and got really disappointed for the price I paid. Forget about using the Internet - the "free wifi" is so bad you can't even load maps on your phone or browse websites. They do offer a paid "premium" version, which I tried and was just as bad. The hotel looked dirty, with old stained carpets, tons of dirty sheets and towels just thrown at the corridors during the afternoon. The rooms are good sized, but also look moulded. Only two (horrible and cheap) pillows on the bed. No toiletries in the bathroom and even the toilet paper is cheap. Same goes for cheap small bath towels. The bathtub was leaking and flooding the bathroom and one of the faucets was clogged.
Good location a few minutes from the centre but quiet Canal side views Clean room, very comfortable. Room servicing staff very polite and efficient. Very good choice for breakfast
Breakfast a bit chaotic when busy. Breakfast tables set out in a way which made sitting just as a couple difficult. Food warm rather than hot. WiFi very slow at times (but it is free)
They include breakfast in the price- nothing amazing but decent. although it's in the center, it's still a short walk to the main sites of Bruges by the canal.
We stayed here for 1 night 2015 NYE in a twin bedroom and it was extremely expensive. The hotel is rather big. It's run down, awful heating system (at least in our room), terrible wifi for the price of the hotel and the mattress should've been changed 5 years ago. The gym is a joke, there are 3 machines there: 2 bikes & 1 rowing machine. We didn't feel like wandering into Jacuzzi (15 euro charge per room)
Breakfast is good, Staff is very friendly and helpful.
They have many twin rooms and be careful in ensuring you have a double bed room with a queen or king size bed. It isn't that close to the market square as the hotel claims, it's quite a walk.
nice rooms, very friendly and helpful staff at the reception - close to the center
Location Very nice Bar staff helpful
Bed mattresses too soft. Asked for Baby bed when we made reservation, didn't get any!!!
Nice room. We asked for a double and got a twin, but not the end of the world. I'm sure they would have moved us if we had asked.
Slightly smelly! Only in the reception/corridor areas (not in the room). I think this is because Bruges is a 'watery' city like Venice.
Staff were not robots nice to have some personalities in a hotel. Breakfast was good continental
Bar was overpriced but I am a tight Scottish man ...
Very nice hotel,good value
Location was fab. On road parking close by with plenty. I deal location for a walk into the centre for the shopping and markets at christmas. Hotel staff friendly and welcoming. Would stay here again.
Price was steep for the room I thought we was getting. However it was a Saturday night in the Christmas period.
Please note that the majority of hotels in Bruges have a mininum 2-night stay requirement on weekends. Golden Tulip Hotel was happy to accomodate us for 1 night only.
Wi-fi was very slow.
Location and availability of parking. Parking can be a bit confusing to locate the pedestrian exit -it is the same as the car exit- but it is not clear that the doors open automatically as you approach
The room was very bland. With wooden panels that were not readily apparent but are there to restrict light (ours was an upstairs room with feature windows but no curtains or blinds). Electrical connection adapter for television secured with vinyl tape. The bed linen had some marks. We complained about noises late in the evening (10pm to 11.15pm) that we thought was plumbing that transpired was down to the lift-that clearly needs attention. We found this out the next morning when the lift started to be used again around 8am. The hotel information pack states water is not recommended for drinking so but theirs!. Breakfast was very crowded.
Great location which was out of the busiest part of the city but only a 10-15 minute walk away. Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room were excellent despite costing 15€ per day Excellent breakfast. Kettle and tea/coffee in room which is not always the case in Belgium Complimentary tea and coffee by the bar in the afternoon. We would use this hotel again.
Fitness equipment limited and not well maintained. Jacuzzi and sauna not open until 11am so no use possible before breakfast We could not book a WW1 trip from the hotel desk and had to walk to the information centre at the Concertgebouw on the far side of town.
I booked my room for only one night (which is not always possible in Bruges) through booking.com for only 90€. Normal price for a single outside the season is 145€. I was very pleased with the luxury of this room. The breakfast buffet was awesome. Very friendly staff. I'll be back.
There is free wifi available but the speed is very slow. You have to pay 10€ extra if you want premium access. I can understand their point of view with 100+ rooms in the hotel, but still...
The staff couldn't have been more helpful, The concierge sorted out our arrival, parking and rooms really quickly and the barman made a special effort to serve food and drinks for us even though we were really late arriving.
Short walking distance to all the sites, bars and restaurants. Easy parking near to the hotel. Very good breakfast.
The location, the parking service and the breakfast was normal. The superviser reacted proffesionally to our concerns. We received a box of chocolate for the inconvenience.
Our room was not really clean. We both slept very bed (closed noses every half hour) because of the dust and poor airfiltration, the airfilter was full of dust. The nightmare was our bathroom with mold everywhere, nevermind human hair everywhere, or candy underneath the edge of the bed and two big spider webs in the room at plain sight. The floorcarpet of the hallway on the 1st floor is really stained and old.
could do with brighter lights in room
Good breakfast Very large rooms Localization
There is one guy in the reception that is quite rude and gave us some misunderstanding informations! We booked 2 rooms and in one of them the bed was not comfortable. Old and not in a flat shape
Clean, good breakfast, interesting hotel interior, 4h parking in front of the hotel for about 2.5 EUR and Sunday for free
Asked for a double bed and received a twin bed
This is the third time we have visited this hotel.Bar staff where very friendly and the location is very good. The room was of a good quality and had everything that you could want or need. There is a little supermarket opposite which was handy.
Request for extra pillows was ignored. The staff in reception where not very helpful at all.The pillows where shocking, and our room was very noisy being opposite the underground garage listening to cars going in and out of the garage, the door opening and closing all day and night and people outside in the road shouting.
