Clean, good location, very friendly service
double bed is two twins pushed together so not very good for couples
I'm sure I'll be back to this guesthouse. Comfortable bed, charming garden, I was really happy to stay there and part of my book was written in Guesthouse Ambrosius' garden :)
Rita -the owner very friendly and easy to deal with House with all facilities including private garden Very central location Great Price compared to a hotel On street parking nearby or garage by arrangement at extra cost
Welcome and introduction from owner, comfortable house with all facilities available. Ideal location with parking available a short distance away for hire car.
Nothing to dislike
Very nice house with small, lovely garden/yard. Located inside the old Bruges at quiet, peaceful neighborhood, yet within the walking distance (10-15min) from the city center. We were nicely welcomed by the host (Ms. Rita) who provided very useful information about the city and also the map of the city. Private garage available.
Apartment needs vacuum cleaning, dusting and window washing. Refrigerator is not working properly!!!! Also, coffee machine is a little bit to old and not very clean. Additional garbage bags were missing (together with the information about garbage disposal).
Rita is very nice. Received us wonderfully! The location is great! The house is wonderful with a decoration full of lovely details and has a nice garden! The kitchen is fully equipped and all house very clean!
Rita is very helpful and welcoming, we had an amazing time in Bruges and the house has everything you need and more. A lot more than we were expecting. A short walking distance from everything. I would definitely go back and stay here. And on top of that the price is a lot cheaper than hotels.
Location, car parking and facilities
Slightly worried about stairs as there were very steep. No problem for adults but may be for children.
Rita is a very nice person, the house is lovely with everything you can need, in a super location; my 7 year old boy loved his room in the attic :) Maura Cole
comfy beds, location, spacious, just brilliant, will go back here, much better than hotel!
The acommodation was perfect, very authentical, with full equipment, with a good value of price. Thank you, Rita!
Parking is not so easy at the house but we knew that!
Imagine our delight to find that Ambrosius is not simple a guest house where you share space with others but an entire house. Being typical of the era in which it was built, it is narrow, one room per floor, but the kitchen is generous, there is a garden and a comfortable living and dining area. The location is very convenient to shopping and restaurants and this include a bakery and a large grocery store, both high on our list of amenities since we like to cook for ourselves. There is also a Laundromat nearby for drying, since there is only a washer at the house. The bathroom is large and there is an additional WC on the ground floor. The master bedroom has a king sized bed. The owner was delightful. We hope to stay at Ambrosius again.
The upper bedroom has a somewhat narrow ladder for access, so be advised if you don't like heights. The master bedroom is dimly lit, but has large windows for daylight.
Perfect little house with everything we needed to make ourselves comfortable.
Great location, ten minutes walk from the main square. Bus stop, supermarket, bakery and some bars just around the corner. Nice homely feeling house with a small garden which would be great in the summer.
The only bad things were that the coffee machine had a mouldy coffee filter in, perhaps it had been missed by the landlady when cleaning but did put us off making any coffee in that machine. Also only one towel big enough to dry yourself properly was supplied, but I made do with 2 hand towels.
location, cleaness, hostess, facilities, home-like feeling
The house is well situated for someone who is here to visit Brugge.
A lot of things. A few days before our scheduled arrival the owner sent me an e-mail asking me at what time I would be arriving so that she could greet us. I answered but when we arrived (3 pm) all there was was a note on the door with a phone number. It is a good thing I had a cell phone because when we called she told me where the key was, that she would see us during the evening. When we saw her in the evening and I inquired about the parking, she told me that the best thing was to go and park at the train station (3-4 km away) and that it was only 3 euros a day. When I told her that on my reservation confirmation it stated '' Free public parking is possible on site (reservation is not needed) she told me that this was a mix-up with Booking. There is free parking on the street but you have to use a parking disk which meant that you had to come back to the car every four hours from 9 am to 8 pm. She gave us a city map and other information (dated 2008) and the only other time we saw her was when she came to collect the rent. As far as the house is concerned my wife and I cannot understand why this place is rated 9+. This place is in serious need of repairs and upkeep. The house smelled of old and musty. The fridge smelled so bad that there was no way we could keep food in there. I had to clean the coffeemaker before using it. The toaster was so dirty we did not even bother trying to clean it. When you flushed the upstairs toilet, it took at least ten minutes to refill and so on. But what struck me most was that there was no indication whatsoever that this house is regulated in any way as a tourist rental place. For example, there was nothing in the house in regards to fire safety.
