It's a very nice house 20 minutes away from Brugge, and it has a very nice garden where the kids can play. There are like 4 or 5 beedrooms with a shared big kitchen and living room. Of course, if you don't go by car and gps forget about it. I'm sorry to be so critic with my negative comments, mostly because the owner seems to be a nice person, but it's a shame because most of my negative comments have an relatively easy solution.
I'm afraid I have a list: 1) according to my booking reservation in english (that Imhad printed with me) the bedroom was having TV and kitchen, but nowhere was saying that it was shared with other bedrooms! 2) there were no big towels, just hand towels, something incredible, and I checked my booking reservation both in English, German and Spanish and again this was not mentioned anywhere. 3) only 1 toilet paper roll for 4 nights and 4 people? 4) Four nights and nobody came to remove the garbage from the kitchen. We were taking some things by ourselves, but some others we were not sure (I have no idea of the recycling rules in Belgium, in some countries you can get fined for taking out the garbage in the wrong day) 5) the beedroom was having the 2nd bed in a kind of attic, without a bed, just the matress in the floor, and with a wooden stair that was really dangerous to use. 6) We were lucky and we didn't have neighbours (other passengers), but if you have the bad luck of having neighbours wih kids or adults noisy forget about having a pleasent stay. You can here everything from the beedroms to downstairs. 7) as mentioned, location can be a problem if you don't have a gps 8) bathroom without ventilation
We had the place to ourselves. Nice quiet location.
Couldn't figure out how to join the wifi possibly because we couldn't read the instructions in French!
Very clean, big place for the 2 of us. Perfect for a break from the city. Not far from Brugges or Gent. Good to explore the Belgian coast.
Different Peaceful Handy for Kortrijk & Bruges
Lot of money for very basic but clean & modern fittings
The house is big, very clean, stylishly decorated and well equipped. It's a home from home (actually a lot nicer than my home!). There's a big dining area and living room space with big sofas, toys for kids, TV and good WiFi. There's a lovely garden area with table and chairs and play area for kids. The bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms are also very nicely done. It's in the middle of nowhere really, so it's the perfect place to get away from it all (only cows roam nearby). There's a small town about 5 minutes drive away which has a few shops and food places for supplies. You're also only around 20 minutes drive from Bruges. Be aware, it is rented as a holiday home, not a B&B, so you've got an entire kitchen available to you, with everything you might need (fridge, oven, microwave, all crockery and utensils, dishwasher etc.), but there's no food available unless you bring it yourself. The price was really good. Although not the easiest to locate, once contacted, the owners acted very fast to help out and were very friendly, welcoming and helpful.
All of these are minor points that I'd like to call constructive criticism for the owners rather than complaints, because we were very happy with our stay and I'd return again for sure. However some points I'd make are: The towels were a quite small so maybe bring your own. The owner lives on a nearby farm but I didn't see her email saying that until after I got wifi once I was there, so we were a bit worried for a while when no one was in. It's probably worth mentioning on the booking site that if no one is at the property, clients should go to the house at the top of the road. Wifi is there but details are on a very small note on the pinboard and we weren't told about it so had to discover it ourselves. A more obvious note or being told by the owner would be good because it's easy to miss. The bathrooms are basically wet rooms, which is fine, but we didn't get pointed to the floor mop thing so didn't discover it tucked in a corner in the corridor until we were leaving, so the bathroom floors were left wet. Again, this is just info the owner needs to point out. Contacting the owner for help in anyway from the house involves calling them, which meant international calls from my mobile. Some means of easy contact would be preferable.
Nice place, very clean and quite comfortable. Green surroundings, relaxation and quietness. Very well equipped kitchenette and lounge. Well organized all over.
Owners almost invisible; one of them took the money at the beginning of our stay and split - never saw him again. You literally have to bring with you not only your own food (which is OK), but also paper filters for Coffee Makers, salt & pepper, sugar / sweetener, spices (if case), vegetable oil, table napkins and even bathroom towels. Also, the vast majority of reading material - just in Flemish. Heating was not functional (it was a little chilly overnight) and access to controls - restricted.
Good stop over on way to Brugge. Very well equipped. Take your own food.
