Location Hospitality of staff
No shower in bathroom
Everything is really good here.
breakfast could be more diverse, this breakfast is not worth 20 EUR.
Location, refined room and bathroom, cleaning
Breakfast is expensive with poor ratio between cost/quality
Very quiet, spaceous bathroom. Copious breakfast.
Couldn't get wifi on our I-Pad. Room was a bit chilly. Couldn't regulate temperature.
Everything. I will come back. Staff in the breakfast room were really helpful when I arrived off an early flight, my room wasn't ready and breakfast was just ending. I got a breakfast, and plenty of coffee and somewhere comfortable to wait.
Never managed to use both types of shower head. But hardly important
Location, parking, comfort.
Could be better value, but we missed out on the 'specials'. Special deals would make this excellent value.
Welcoming staff and comfortable. Nice, quiet location but close to centre. €20 breakfast in addition to the room fee is steep but that encouraged us to go out and find an excellent cafe within five minutes for breakfast (Quartiers).
Somewhat overpriced as this hotel is good but not outstanding. Rooms not big and €25 per night parking on top of €180 room fee is not good.
the upgrades which we receive when we book via bookin.com to the old part. boxpring beds. perfects showers without calcium and the peacefull bar
bar open as from 17h. parking st 20 eu per night
clean, very nice staff, very nice architecture, quiet rooms
This hotel like all of the Martin's properties are exquisitely renovated historical buildings, which gives each of the rooms a unique flavor and the overall hotel in Enormous charm. I would always stay at the Martin's chain hotel given the option. The staff were excellent
The nature of the building being a very old structure leads to spotty Wi-Fi coverage room by room. I did have Wi-Fi in my room but it was a little inconsistent. The hotel offered to give me a different room for my second night but I declined since I enjoyed my room very much.
Location, bedroom, parking, bar, breakfast,
Sterile appearance of lobby. Bored receptionists. This is a typical business hotel. Michelin Guide Rouge 2014 wrongly describes it as 'seductive'; it is not the least seductive.
Martin's Klooster is one of the most lovely hotels I have stayed at. The buildings are fabulous (an old cloisters), the grounds are spacious and lovely, the staff are impeccably good. Nothing was too much trouble. And Leuven the town is the most lovely and interesting town we came across in Belgium.
Walking distance to town Room cleanliness Windows that open in the room Great shower Friendly reception Uncluttered
Cold marble bathroom floor
5 min walk to downtown, 15 min walk down main street to train station
Restuarant is pricey, not recommended since you can get a full meal downtown for under 20euro.
Well located but quite hiden from the main roads/trafic. The hotel is quite nice, staff is very friendly and I could rent a bike to go about my meetings - which is the best way to comute in Leuven
Adequate, secure room. Leuven is a fascinating town.
Breakfast (20 euros pp extra) seemed very expensive. We ate well in town. Parking (25 euros per night) was also expensive, but very secure.
The rooms in the recently built section of this hotel are splendid. Furniture, facilities, ambiance and sound-proofing efforts are excellent.
Nonetheless, it appears to be a hopeless endeavor especially for hotels with a high esteemed advertisement to keep up with the very basic's of a customer's expectation which above all demands for an immaculate cleanness of the bathroom area. The shower area drain was completely clotted and draining of waste water had stopped. It is impossible for me to comprehend that such a circumstance is not detected by the cleaning team while the adverse incident must be looming with obvious evidence. Since the incident could not be recovered the same day, I had to pack my stuff and change room. On the check-out day, the chef de service at the reception asked me if I had a pleasant stay and charged the full fee instead of apologizing in a forthcoming manner for the unpleasant circumstances and offering any midget redemption. Obviously, no alert was registered in the hotel's computer systems allowing for a suitable customer relation.
This first room they put me in would not warm up, so they transferred me to another room and gave me a room upgrade. The staff was very helpful, not only with this, but with every other question I had about Leuven and how to get around.
Superb stay with excellent friendly staff
The room setting and the bath room too... The eco hotel...
The breakfast is bit too expensive compared to the food varieties...
From 2nd night , I had a good room. In this room The bathroom has sufficient room, and the cupboard and shelves were suitably positioned for ease of use. And the loan of the international was needful and good. The shower gel seemed to be of good quality. A handful of the staff I met were helpful and friendly. Of special mention is Peter at the reception. He deserves to be rewarded for being outstanding in his attitude and willingness to help. He was interested to ensure I have good experience in Leuven with his recommendations of places to visit .
My first night of stay was horrific . I was given a horrible room in the old building. It was dark, cramped and I kept bumping my head on the wood across the ceiling. For the old room and the newer room, the shower facilities can be improved . The water kept splashing out and there was a lot of constraints as a result .
