Score from 540 reviews Very good
Well located but quite hiden from the main roads/trafic. The hotel is quite nice, staff is very friendly and I could rent a bike to go about my meetings - which is the best way to comute in Leuven
This first room they put me in would not warm up, so they transferred me to another room and gave me a room upgrade. The staff was very helpful, not only with this, but with every other question I had about Leuven and how to get around.
Superb stay with excellent friendly staff
The room setting and the bath room too... The eco hotel...
The breakfast is bit too expensive compared to the food varieties...
From 2nd night , I had a good room. In this room The bathroom has sufficient room, and the cupboard and shelves were suitably positioned for ease of use. And the loan of the international was needful and good. The shower gel seemed to be of good quality. A handful of the staff I met were helpful and friendly. Of special mention is Peter at the reception. He deserves to be rewarded for being outstanding in his attitude and willingness to help. He was interested to ensure I have good experience in Leuven with his recommendations of places to visit .
My first night of stay was horrific . I was given a horrible room in the old building. It was dark, cramped and I kept bumping my head on the wood across the ceiling. For the old room and the newer room, the shower facilities can be improved . The water kept splashing out and there was a lot of constraints as a result .
Very helpful personnel. Enjoyable breakfast.
Quite small room and TV was difficult to watch sideways.
I stayed in the old monastery section and the newly renovated section. Two very different flavours but both were charming, comfortable, clean, quiet and distinctly European. Loved the bathroom in the new section. Loved the wood and architecture in the old section. Beds in both were very comfortable. Location is within walking distance to just about everything in the main squares, restaurants and public transportation
No clocks in the room, I used my phone as an alarm. Breakfast was pricey at €20 although I ate there one morning) and staff was great, food selection was good and sitting outside on the patio was wonderful. There are less expensive options a 5 minute walk away.
Spacious and modern room, nice view. Historic setting in a great location. Front desk staff is friendly. The parking under the hotel is very convenient but can fill up.
Parking was full when we arrived but there was a spare parking. Water pressure is on the weak side and the bath faucet handle fell off. Service in the bar is erratic.
I had a 4 night stay as a base for a rock festival I attended in Tienen. It was the perfect peaceful retreat to return to each day and I enjoyed the quiet of being away from the summer bustle of Leuven. I had a character gabled room at the back of the hotel which looked over the courtyard which I liked very much. The room was cosy and was in the original part of the hotel. It had the original cloister type windows which didn't bring in too much light in the mornings (but see negative comment) which suited me fine.
Because the room had been refurbished in line with the original structure the curtains were not effective in blocking out the morning light in that they had a "sail" effect and did not fit flush to the wall. No big deal but maybe important to those who do not like a lot of natural light in the morning. The only other point which has been said many times by other reviewers is that the buffet breakfast is excessive at 20 euro and what I saw of it didn't justify the price in my opinion. Needless to say I didn't have it.
The ambiance was great and staff were very helpful
It was very hot when we were in Leuven but the air con was ineffective in our room. Wifi reception was poor. Breakfast was expensive if bought separately.
Well located, nice old building. Friendly and helpful staff.
The building and its location are second to none. In the evening, the bar area is friendly and well worth a visit.
Our room on the second floor was hot and cramped. Although we reported that the towel rail had fallen off in the bathroom, it was not fixed back up during our 3 day stay. The price of the breakfast was too high for our pockets.
excellent rooms, high ceilings, quiet, quality linen, and the owners must have spent a small fortune on the bath-room fittings. Simply superb... but....see opposite. Lovely and ample breakfast
tricky to get there and 25 euro's for just parking seems high Shower lovely, but the absence of a door meant going to the loo at night...wet feet
Location walking distance from city centre, spacious room (after upgrade), free parking during the weekend (ask at the reception!)
Staff messed up re bicycle reservation; bath but no separate shower / way to hang up the shower head above your head.
The staff is wonderfull, the room was big and clean with a lot of style, very clean and beautiful rooms.. a really great place
pretty expensive but we were there for the Rock Werchter festival when all the nearby hotels prices jump..
Excellent location. Very nice and cozy bar.
Staff very unpleasant. Not friendly. Room very dusty. Air Co not working properly. Shower in the bathtub. Breakfast extremely overpriced: very bad quality products, no fresh juice. In general, price per night a way too high for what you get.
I cannot say one bad thing about this hotel. It was a real dream, staff were excellent, supportive friendly and informative. Rooms were very clean tidy and sensational and the location was perfect for what we needed.
nothing. Everything was just outstanding.
Reception staff, the room, location.
Hotel advertised out hotel that the hotel bar was open until 1 am i also checked with them but I got back around 11.45pm found them shutting up. Attitude of female was a little abrupt we've closed up now !!!
Staff was really helpful, and the reception and bar area were immaculately decorated. The room was also tastefully decorated and the beds very comfy.
Breakfast is a bit pricey and the standard rooms were fairly basic so we upgraded as we were hoping for a bath and kettle/tea/coffee in the room.
Great location, charming building
Accesability by car
The surprising deposit of Euro 250 on the day of my arrival they took using my creditcard. A very small and rather dark room for an incredible price. First and last stay in this hotel; the next time Leuven's hotels are almost all full I will rather sleep in Mechelen instead of going to Martin's Klooster.

They can improve the CRM database. We sleep there every year. Easy marketing to keep surprising guests..
Friendly staff, airconditioning and style of the hotel.
The additional cost of the room such as Breakfast and parking are very expensive
