The hotel is 2 minutes walking from the main square of mechelen so it's really in a good position. Breakfast was fine - We asked for a double room, no one answered but there they gave us a twin room. - the room was cold, there are no radiators but a heating system extremely noisy and moreover it's automatically switched it off when you leave the room; consequence: or you have a warm room but you CANNOT sleep due to extreme noise of heating system, or you sleep with the heating system off and you FREEZE.

Very convenient location close to city centre Lift not working so bringing suitcases up 3 flights of stairs not fun!- no reduction offered. Parking was €1 per day more than advertised and was expensive for off peak period just after New Year- €16 per day. Mattresses on beds rather uncomfortable and one had a plastic liner under the bottom sheet which squeaked making it even more difficult to get a good night's sleep. Bedroom rather cramped but perhaps OK at rate we paid

The staff are friendly, easy checkin,comfortable rooms,excellent location. The lift was broken for most of our stay (not sure how wheelchair users would get to their room). We stayed in a room with interconnecting doors,the people in the next room where very noisy with screaming children still running around well past midnight. Not good when you have to get up early the next morning.Carpet could do with a good clean.

booked a double room and was given two single beds, when complained was told hotel full and no double beds left (although i have confirmation for a double). Never saw another person only on reception dont beleive was full! Air condition/heater made a terrible noise couldnt turn off to noisey couldnt turn down to noisey a complete nightmare to had to have it turned up on high and was like a sauna. Quite noisey although on 3rd floor! overall not a plesant stay and wasnt offered any refund.

Good location No wifi in rooms, internet in the hotel has to be paid for: I was in many hotels where I had to pay less, even half the price and wifi and internet were for free. In Holiday Inn you have to pay for everything. Breakfast not better than breakfast in a cheap hotel.

Decent value for money. Very difficult to locate because the "square" it's on extends around the corner in an unexpected way. Tho courteous, the receptionist on duty when I checked in was a bit disorganized. I'd booked for one day, then decided to stay for two, so I booked another day, adding the message that this was my second one-day booking & the two should be combined. The receptionist had trouble finding the second booking. Then she assigned me a room that hadn't been cleaned yet so I had to change rooms. Of the two drinks I ordered at reception, she got one of those wrong too. Other reception staff on different shifts were more organized & very helpful.

nice and clean hotel in the beautiful city of Mechelen. Easy access on the train to Antwerp and Brussels, just make sure that you get off at the main Mechelen station if you are on the inter city train. If you are on the inter regional train, you can get off at either station. (one is 5 mins walk away and the other is 20mins) Breakfast easy but basic. Underground car park - there are only about 6 spots and if you are a UK driver the button to open the garage is on the left. the guy on the desk didnt tell me this and I had to reverse up the steep hill!

First of all, I have several times visited the hotel itself, with children or business partners. Signs get back in the same hotel because I felt as at home. Mechelen is a beautiful city and people are very friendly, especially the hotel staff
