Generally the overall hotel for business accommodation. Restaurant has hard working and hospitable staff - to be commended

Hairdryer fix in top drawer ensures anyone taller than 170 cms will need to kneel on the floor when drying hair

We were overcharged and the television was activated by the reception staff during the night which woke us up early with the bright light.

Access to main highway and easy to find. Close to efficient tram station for visits into town.

Pre-paid our breakfast. The "hot" breakfast on all 4 days was totally cold and inedible. Had one evening meal in restaurant and was encouraged to have "hot" buffet which was likewise totally cold. Early morning check-out staff member was really obnoxious on several points. Car-park barrier failed to open causing our taxi to spend ages getting it attended too whilst meter was running - extra taxi fare was 8€ more as result. Whilst the tram is convenient for visits into city centre there is nothing to do in hotel proximity. Will never stay here again!

The staff were amazing, and nothing was ever too much effort for them. The tram was very close with excellent links to Gent.

The bath looked very old and chipped and needed some work on it. The drinks weren't always restocked in the bedroom

Hard to find at night

Very helpful staff. Informative, friendly and approachable. When we had a problem with the in-room safe that couldn't be rectified (not a big issue) they offered us a free drink at the bar which was a nice gesture. We didn't eat the hotel or use the bar so can't comment. If you travel on into Gent city centre, I would recommend buying the tram ticket from reception, its excellent value.

I have stayed in one or two Holiday Inns in the past and can't help but think this one is a bit unloved. It isn't the most attractive of buildings from the exterior, but the foyer and bar and restaurant are a perfectly good standard and quite modern. It might have been our floor of rooms, but they are looking a little tired and rough round the edges, but perfectly comfortable. I've stayed in far worse however! The cleaner could have been a bit more thorough but i'm being picky probably. The parking is a little expensive at €9 a day, especially when there is ample parking at the Flanders Expo and ikea (though i'm not sure what the charges are, or if they charge at all). All in all, I would stay again if there was no city centre hotels available - it is a 20 min tram ride, but again, not a big issue.

Close to the fair (location)

It is close to Flanders Expo and as such an ideal location if you have an event.

I went to my room for much needed rest, after a long and very busy day at Flanders Expo. However, there was a party going on in the Atrium of the hotel with unacceptable loud music. I had a room with streetview, but even then you simply could not sleep. If you are a business hotel, you should pay attention to the needs of your clients (business people) and not organise parties that prevent a good night rest.

Everything! Very good service from very friendly staff. Comfortable room with so far the best bed we have ever had in a hotel.

It is a bit confusing to get to the hotel, but that is to the road infrastructure that has been set out by the city of Gent. There was nothing to fault about the hotel.

Nothing exceptional but norhgin bad either. Hotel answers to its target : clean, businesslike, easy acces.

My wife and I stayed 1 night at the Holiday Inn en route to Brugges. The hotel itself is first class, staff very professional & helpful, extremely comfortable rooms.
