Eric,
Tokyo
This is the ideal place for exploring Bruges. Your host, Karel, welcomes you to this friendly and cozy family hotel located in a 18th century monastery. Together with his sister he recently renovated the first floor creating a contemporary lounge bar where even the locals like to drop by for a chat and a drink. It's only a 5-minute walk to the Market Place (Grote Markt), the station and various cultural activities making this the perfect starting point to explore Bruges. Hotel de Goezeput offers an enjoyable stay with a warm and friendly welcome in an ambient environment. Hotel Rooms: 15

The location was excellent, within easy walking distance of the railway station and also close to the town centre. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was small but had all we needed for a short city break, and the bar downstairs was warm and welcoming.

Location was convenient and the street was quiet, mostly because the street was all dug up for new sewer installation. The bathroom was clean and spacious. The room, although simple and sparse, was large. The one chair in the room had a very wobbly arm. We were always afraid it would break off. No one was at reception when we arrived at about 1:00 pm. Just a sign to have us call a number. We did not have a cell phone nor computer. Found a chamber maid in one of the rooms who tried to help us, but could not make the call for us because of a "credit" problem with her phone. We couldn't communicate with her very well because she didn;t speak English. She kindly allowed us to leave our luggage in a locked room so we could go out to tour the town. She did not know when someone at reception would be back. Room was very sparse and for the cost, over- priced. No phone in the room and no one at front desk in the evening. How do tourists who do not speak the language get any assistance? We departed about 7:30 am next morning and had difficulty unlocking the front door to leave. Found this to be a serious safety hazard in an emergency. Although staff was cordial, they were hardly there. Finally, a suggestion that breakfast start earlier in the morning. 8:30 am starting time for breakfast is a bit late.

We stayed for 2days. The room was good size for 4 peoples and bed was nice thoght little soft. Breakfast was very nice, we enjoyed them very much. We felt a bit cold in room even central heating was on, I think it comes from window because building is old style. If curtain was longer, would not be so much cold. A cleaner lady works very nicely!! I have to say that we enjoyed and hope to visit again!! Thanks. Lump bulb was run out. It was a bit cold in room. No bathtab, maybe need to be new bathsystem.

Central location, charming room, helpful, friendly staff. Excellent choice for breakfast. Only slight reservation, the ability to make a hot drink in our room would have been welcome on a winter break.

Not excellent, but relative good location. Deluxe room was acceptable and clean. Breakfast acceptable. Personel looked friendly. Dubble charged my card payment ! (lost approx.1 Hour so fahr, on phone with my bank to sort it out and it's not deffetly resolved yet even so I have kept the bill and have the booking details) Do yourselves a favour and pay cash! Called the hotel several times, left message on answering machine. They didn't called back so fahr! Prior to arrive in Brugge, no answer to my email inquery about adwised/open restaurants for Christmasteve, either! I belive they are unreachable by phone or email :) Decide for Yourselves!

Excellent central location and great value for money. The hotel has character and good facilities for the price. The buffet breakfast included in our price was very good with ample choice. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would recommend this hotel for a city break.

Beautiful hotel and atmosphere. Well located, just 10 mins walk from the station and 5 mins away from the main attractions of city. Very friendly staff always willing to help. Bathroom too small (obviously, as this is a 16th century building which had to be adapted). Poor breakfast.

Although we didn't arive until midnight, the owner's arrangements for entering the hotel ran smoothly. The room and bathroom were spotless and beautifully appointed - the building itself is delightful. A very pleasant buffet breakfast with plentiful delicious bread etc was served in the cosy little courtyard by our helpful, friendly hostess. The main shopping street and all tourist areas are just 2 mins stroll from the front door. One downside of the very central loation is that there is some street noise. Although there is not much passing traffic along this picturesque, narrow, cobbled street, each sound is pretty noticable when the windows are open. Maybe take earplugs as it would be a shame to miss this little gem!

Quite close to the main shopping streets and main car parking area. Free wireless internet and guest computer at the lounge. Big flat-screen TV at the room. Deluxe room was big with four beds. No bed covers, only bed sheets and wool blankets. Steep staircase to the top floor, watch your head if you are tall person. Very small bathroom with shower corner, although bathroom was very new and clean. Loose floorboards at the top floor room.

Good location and rather fair price for a summer season. Despite comparatively low prise, the level of comfort and services are not satisfying. There was no light in a shower and toilet rooms. Tv was also not functional. Managers refused to make a discount sins "the big boss was out". Also the walls are so thin, you can hear every step on a stairs in an hall. Having a good potential the house was cheaply and badly re-build for the hotel purposes.

Isabel, the receptionist, was most helpful in many ways, she made our stay worthwhile, going beyond the call of duty. She gave us a ground floor room, which, although very small, had recently been tastefully renovated. The breakfast was a continental buffet fresh and plentiful. The proximity to the main attractions was a bonus. The bedroom had a 2-level floor (about 10 centimetres) at the end of the bed. this can cause an accident just waiting to happen.Perhaps a wedge could be created to give the floor a gradual incline. We were regularly tripping over this tiny step.

The whole atmosphere of the hotel is fantastic! The combination of the remainings of the old convent (floor, walls, balks, etc.) with the newly added facilities (bathroom, furniture, etc.), the lightning of the room, the lounge, are all in perfect harmony. We stayed in one of the family rooms, it was spacious and very nicely arranged. The bed was comfortable and we had not much trouble caused by noise coming from outside. The breakfast: everything was fresh and tasty but it could offer a slightly larger variety.
