Hotel Jan Brito - Small Elegant Hotel    

Pleasant staff who went out of their way to assist us; very comfortable large beds, modern facilities in an atmospheric old building. Super fresh extensive buffet breakfast. Free wi fi and two tvs. Very good location with nearby safe parking

We had duplex rooms in the garret- 2 floors connected by a steep wooden staircase with one ensuite. They should have warned us to wear hard hats as being tall people we hit our heads several times on the ancient oak beams

The room had all mod cons. The bathroom was large. The staff were really very helpful and booked a restaurant in the town for us as they didn't have one. The breakfast in the hotel was inclusive and exceptional with cheese meats eggs bacon cereals etc. The position was super and the town centre just round the corner. The hotel itself is very pretty and authentically old which is what we wanted. Bed was comfortable and we slept well as quiet street.

the room was very small and smaller than the bathroom. the curtains were difficult to close as heavy and floor to ceiling with no pulley so let the light in. The cost was a little excessive at 145EU but you pay for position and breakfast.

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful...hard workers! Building was beautiful!!

A wonderful hotel with wonderful staff. My family enjoyed the stay and the only negative thing is that we had to go out of the hotel to tour the city. Rooms are spacious and well furnished, breakfast variety is excellent and staff are very friendly. I will definitely stay there again and recommend it to my friends.

The breakfast and service was great.

The fact our room did not have a proper shower so found room overpriced. It was a special trip for my husbands 40th birthday and although they gave a card there was no special treatment or upgrades which we have received in the past.

For a 4 star hotel the room was a little small and in need of a little redecoration. Bathroom was fine but no separate shower.

Room was on 2 levels which was great for older children

One radiator was not working and room was initially cold but was scorrec ted after commenting.

I loved the friendly service and the cosy warm fire where we could rest after a days site-seeing with a cup of coffee - or champagne! Nothing was too much effort for the staff, they accomadated our every need! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would most definitely stay agaun.

Location to everything we wanted to see was excellent. Great breakfast included.

Slow lift up to rooms but quite funny

It's been about 8 years since I last stayed at the Jan Brito and it was every bit as good as I remembered. Friendly staff, comfortable and quiet rooms, a lovely breakfast and pretty much the best location in town. Close enough to everywhere to allow you to put the car away for your entire stay, yet just far enough from the tourist streets to have a good night's sleep guaranteed. The alcoves in the Koningen Astrid Park. The view from the Belfort. The sepulchre of the Holy Blood. I can't get enough.

What's to dislike about perfection?

Large rooms and excellent breakfast

This is a lovely hotel. We have stayed here 3 times. The staff are very friendly, and the location is excellent.

I liked the peace and quiet. No tv in the lounge bought back the art of conversation with other friendly guests. We also liked the style of the hotel, beautifully decorated and leaving the original features in tact. The information supplied about the hotel's history made fascinating reading along with all the photographs on the walls around the hotel. The staff were lovely and nothing was to much trouble. We would definitely return. As it was almost Christmas the hotel was also very festive with a beautiful Christmas tree and lovely lights on the window giving it a wonderful ambience.

It's a shame to mention anything but the ensuite door in our room could really do with a black out curtain to avoid the light waking the person in bed when the bathroom is in use at night or early morning. There was also no window to open for fresh air and as the room was a little on the small side it did get very hot at night. An electric fan might be helpful, us mature ladies would appreciate that along with tea making facilities for the early risers.

Lots of real character and individual charm to all areas of the hotel, friendly and helpful staff. An all round relaxing enjoyable experience.

Fabulous Hotel. Stayed in room no 1 a junior suite for 1 night for boyfriends 40th birthday. Staff were friendly, helpful and attentive, hotel was amazing with log fires in reception and bar, room was clean, impressive and huge, bed was bigger than a double and really comfy. It was an extravagant spend but worth every penny, the location was literally 2 minutes walk to Burg Square. We only wished we had the time to spend longer here.

• Helpful staff: the receptionist helped us find our room and opened the luggage storage when we left. Both receptionists were active and generous with their time. • The breakfast offers a good range of selections and coffee was served by a staff member. This is a nice courtesy. • Our room was superb. - Junior Suite #19. This was a gift to my wife and she was surprised. Such a beautiful room.. • Probably the most impressive part is the artistic, historic decor of the hotel. The restoration photos along the walls show the effort involved in making Jan Brito a work of art itself. It feels like being in a family's grand home, with music in the air.

Exellent location in quiet side street but close to Markt & Burg.

The lift must be the slowest in Belgium if not Europe
