The staff I kind What I expect from an hotel is confort and relax when going sleep, well forget about them in this hotel. There are 4 main problems: 1) the rooms are too close to the road, basically we were sleeping on the walkway and we could clearly hear all the cars passing by. 2) we could hear all the noise done by the other guests as well, because there is no insulation at all. 3) the bed itself is crappy, either the mattress it is too old or too soft, could not sleep at all. 4) to get to the room we had to cross the courtyard, so to have breakfast.... This is not what I was expecting from a 4 stars.

We had a wonderful time, staff were friendly and helpful. Bed was comfy. Great central location for exploring the beautiful city of bruge. Breakfast time was busy so thre were delays on food coming out and cutlery. Would have been nice to have tea making facilities in the room.

We travelled with friends on an annual city break and it was a perfect find. The Hotel is very central and the price is reasonable as well. We were extremely impressed with our room, it had such character and the beams were wonderful. The breakfast was exceptional, we were expecting a continental breakfast but there was everything you could imagine to eat, just perfect for a long day exploring. The bar prices were very reasonable as well. All in all the hotel was first class and we will return as a family soon.

Loved the unique setting. There was so much to see in the hotel itself - very grand decor, with modern touches - the room itself was very comfortable - we were in room 36 - a knight room - small, but very well and comfortably furnished - quite stylish too. The breakfast was amazing. Fabulous smoked salmon and a great selection of pastries, cold meats, cereals and hot buffet

The hotel was very close to the center of Bruges, yet it was off a main road so it was still quiet. The hotel staff was wonderful and very accommodating. The place itself is lovely, and the breakfast was probably the best part of the stay. We had a small room (the Maid's room), and while it was small, it was still big enough to fit two people comfortably - it was not the closet I feared it would be. Also, the bathroom was great - big tub for a bath, and fully stocked toiletries that not all hotels give to guests. It felt like a large bed & breakfast near to all things you would need to get to in Bruges. Highly recommend.

Courteous, friendly staff. Convenient to shopping. Lovely garden & breakfast room. Nice-size bedrooms. We were disappointed in the beds, which were much too soft & we couldn't get comfortable. After long days of pounding the cobblestones we needed firm, supportive beds.

The staff on front desk were very friendly and helpful at all times. The hotel has nice rooms and a lovely courtyard at the back and is in a very central location. Lori was very helpful on the day we arrived, as was Alexandra Lie Betty and Mathias. Nothing it was a very good hotel.

I can't remember staying at a hotel where the staff were more friendly, helpful, (fluent). Given the particular needs of our party, the staff were absolutely exceptional. It's a great location, well within walking distance of the 'tourist' area even for the elderly in our party. Breakfast buffet was superb. Such a peaceful place with lovely gardens. No tea/coffee-making facilities in room - normal for much of the Continent though. We needed three rooms on one floor so not all overlooked the gardens, and the one overlooking the road was noisier. Since our last stay you can now order room service evening meals, but hopefully at some point the (excellent) new owners will decide to offer evening meals in the restaurant.

The breakfasts were excellent with lots of choice of hot and cold food. The staff couldn't have been more helpful E.G. with booking restaurants on our behalf for our evening meal. We liked the fact that we could hire bikes directly from the hotel for our sightseeing around Bruges; also, the price of these was cheaper than the local bike hire shops, and the bikes were relatively new.

The rooms had a unique feel to them with original features. The staff were attentive and very efficient. They did not have a list of restaurants that they would recommend, the only recommendation was from a receptionist that had been to a place herself. We did try it and it was the best restaurant we went to by far. I feel that the hotel should look into this as an important service to it's customers.

Receptionists most kind and helpful. Spacious room and nice decor. It is in a central location and easy to get to the square. The car park is just a few minutes away. Free WiFi was great. This hotel charges a 5 star price but for a room that has no tea or coffee making facilities. The hotel has just basic facilities. Christmas candles on the tables and hall were lovely but not lit, felt like the owner was too mean. They told us that we couldn't have kettle because of the insurance of a listed building doesn't cover a kettle in the room, codswollop. This hotel should be 3 star but with comfortable rooms. Bruges itself was very pretty but to eat out costs an arm and a leg.

Hotel staff are freindly and kind. Used the top floor family room for 4. It was clean and spacious enough for a night. Car park was just few minutes walk from the hotel. Breakfast was good. Not a huge variety but the quality was good. This room was good enough for upto 2 nights stay. Good for a short wend use. Outside temperature was 0c but the heating was a bit weak. Main room light was not bright enough. Other than these small issues we liked this hotel. We will use again.

A great hotel, excellent for exploring Bruges! Stayed in a duplux family room – 2 floors with the double bed in the lower floor, and 2 single beds at the top floor. The room is spacious – at the back of the room is another area where there’s a set of sofa, and a writing desk. Great place to lay out the luggages and the shopping bags, without cluttering the sleeping area. One of the beds at the upper floor faces a reclining window, so you can literally look at the stars when you sleep! The staircase to the upper floor is narrow and steep – great fun for the children but not so for the more matured :) The exposed beams add a lot of character and romance to the room, but need some care so as not to knock your head against it accidentally (despite care, we knocked on it 2 times!) Breakfast is declicious – buffet of both hot and cold breakfast, with fresh juices and a selection of teas. Hotel is well situated to explore Bruges on foot. It is not right at the center so you get peace and quiet, but yet it is only a 5 minutes walk to the heart of Bruges (the Market Place and Brug). Covered parking is about 3 minutes walk from the hotel, at a very reasonable €8.50 per day. Would highly recommend the hotel. In addition to the location, value, comfort is the ‘feel’ of the hotel – romantic, old charm, character etc – which is in sync with the beautiful old town of Bruges. I would prefer my room to be brighter. The lightings are limited and are usually spot lights, hence limited range.

“What a lovely suprise the Flanders was. If you read enough on the 'net you can end up really confusing yourself, but I can honestly say everything about our stay, the room, the staff, the location and the breakfast exceeded our expectations. Room was well proportioned, warm and welcoming with spotless bathroom and comfortable (oversize) bed. Our late arrival made the late check-in and tea-making facillities a lifesaver! Staff were very helpful and the location was five minutes from central Bruges - Hotel Flanders really made our stay one to remember. ” Michael, Liverpool |
