Very convenient location, Excellent breakfast, Very helpful staff
Hans was a great host. Very friendly and helpful. We were very pleased with hospitality.
A hotel with so much character. Built in 1300 with wooden beams but also providing excellent modern facilities. A lovely breakfast with staff who couldn't do enough for you, outstanding hotel '
Location, breakfast, breakfast room, good Wi-Fi.
No help on leaving with our luggage even though on 3rd floor and no lift.
The superior rooms are ideal, plenty spacious enough. A delightful continental Breakfast in the morning was delightful. friendly staff and its so close to the Main Market Square of Brugges
Amazing staff, who made us feel incredibly welcome, and were really lovely to our baby.
Bed wasn't very comfy
This is a family run hotel. The owner Hans greeted me personally at my arrival. It is very well located 3-4 blocks from the central market (Belfort) and in a very quiet street. 15-20 min walk from central station. Full breakfast with eggs is included. Has a nice bar underground. Free wifi all around the hotel. Nice room and bathroom with all you need for your stay.
Location is excellent. Couldn't be better. It feels more like a bed and breakfast than a hotel. Very nice. It's got free wi-fi in the bedrooms. The staff is looking after every possible need of their customers.
Room could be a bit better. But all in all very good value for money.
Excellent location and helpful staff. The breakfast is nice. The room is spacious and comfortable.
smallest room and 2 floors up,only hot food at breakfast was boiled egg, and that was overcooked
Stayed at this hotel 12 years ago. It was good then and even better now. Very friendly and helpful owners/staff. Breakfast was a good continental buffet (plenty to choose from). Room was large and recently refurbished to s good dtsndard. The hotel is close to the centre, within easy walking distance of main sites. Will definitely stay here again.
Minor issue was that WiFi was available but at a slow bit rate.
Greta, the owner, is very accommodating and really works hard to make you feel at home and to give helpful instructions on what to see and where to go. Breakfast was very well done. Location is quiet and still very close to church for Sunday mass and close to central market.
We has a room that was a third floor (Greta called it the second floor) walk-up. There is no elevator. If you have bad knees, beware. Also, availability of towels and washcloths were inconsistent. We had a washcloth our first day only. The other 2 days, nothing. Also, only one towel between us on one day. Finally, note that very few places in Brugge take American Express credit cards. Most, including this hotel, only take Visa or MasterCard, which may charge a 3% transaction fee, adding to your cost of a vacation.
Staff, room and most of all the breakfast.
good breakfast, good clean, great location of the hotel.
steep stairs; they changed the towels once and only under our request; discontinuous wifi; screens on the windows but a dozen mosquitoes in a week.
Great location, good breakfast, helpful staff
No air-con; room got very hot although temperature in Brugge was in mid-20's.
Great stay at Karel de Stoute, Friendly people and very nice room with nice view. Old building but new rooms. Directly in the city centre. We will come back
Breakfasts delicious; staff warm, very helpful and accommodating.
location good, only a couple of minutes walk from centre, very friendly family who run the hotel, breakfast is plentiful and fresh, comfortable beds and quiet at night
quaint building good breakfast close to main square
long flights of narrow stairs spotty internet bed too soft
Staffs and location
Somehow it is too cheap looking room but it is not. Felt like 2 star hotel. no Elevator!
such nice friendly people running the hotel. Very very clean and lovely breakfast.
Superb hosts would return back to this hotel. Really friendly people.
Friendly small hotel just 5 mins walk from main square. Stayed in the family room which was very clean and had a lovely new en-suite. Breakfast was lovely with a starter glass of freshly squeezed orange and a bowl of fresh fruit salad and then the freedom to pick from a superb continental breakfast. The cellar bar was lovely, a great place to have a drink before going out for your evening meal. Best of all the hospitality and helpfulness of the the owner and her son. Wonderful hotel.
There was nothing to dislike.
Lovely hotel with welcoming staff. Made aware of local attractions and provided with a useful map. V comfy bed and a decent buffet breakfast.
Nothing. First floor access is by stairs only which is not unusual.
