This hotel is a beautiful rustic hotel 30 mins from Bruges and 10 minutes from Ieper. Our room had a four poster bed, fireplace and a balcony overlooking the countryside. We went in December for the Christmas Markets, but we will return in the summer when I think that we will be able to see the surrounding area at in it's full glory The doors and windows were traditional wood frames but there was a strong draft through each one. It is a shame as although the heating in the rooms was fantastic the draft by the doors, windows and especially the hallway was freezing. Would double glazing spoil the look of the windows? |

The hotel was warm and welcoming. There was a pleasant and informal atmosphere. Meals were substantial and the breakfast was particularly good. It is an ideal place for the exploration of the Ypres area. |

The hotel was easy to find, in a beautiful setting with plenty off road parking. The king sized bed in our large room was very comfortable. The hotel was very clean and the staff very friendly. At the back of the hotel a taste of the horrors of the WW1 were shown by a walk around displaying trenches, bunkers and craters with relevant history posters. Not at all, everything was perfect |

Interesting hotel in very interesting location (World War 1 connection) a short drive from Ypres. Good parking. Well furnished room if a bit quirky. Excellent breakfast. |

Exploring the grounds. Breakfast was good. Too few staff doing various jobs, eg reception breakfast. Very dark on corridor and first floor never found any light switches. Would have liked tea making facilities in the room |

Service and meals were very good. Room was spacious and comfortable. Although near main road and a theme park a short distance away, it was, surprisingly, very quiet. |

Ample parking, English spoken, food very well cooked and a local menu. Easy to be independent with separate entrance. Very close to Ypres and the First World War sites (the hotel is on a former battlefield) Rather dull and fusty decoration, no tea and coffee making equipment in the room, quite cold (even though it was September). |

The hotel was centrally located for visiting the sites of WW1. It was very clean and comfortable. It also gave easy access to the nearby theme park. And, only a 10 minute drive to the centre of Leper. |

lots of charme, but nothing really exciting. it was a nice old home turned into a hotel bathtub/shower needs some refurbishing. it was perfectly clean, but adjusting the water temperature was painstaking. it was too hot or too cold, rather enoying. |

The staff were extremely helpful, offering a lot of advice about the local points of interest, shopping, parking etc. and were pleasant and chatty. We were allowed to leave our trailer-tent in the hotel carpark whilst we did some local sight-seeing, which was a bonus. No tea /coffee making facilities but this is the norm in most continental hotels. |

The hotel was very friendly and helpful . They provided food after hours because of our delayed arrival. they were solicitious of our comfort at all times . The food was good. The hotel was quiet and ideally situated for viewing the First World War memorials. The rooms were of a reasonable size and our bathroom was very spacious . It was slightly old fashioned but that added to its charm . It was very clean . |

Interesting design of building with collections of WW1 objects on display around the hotel. WW1 garden in the grounds was good. Corridors and bedroom were poorly illuminated. |
