Score from 18 reviews Very good
Hotel Regina is set on the Market Square in the heart of historic Ypres, a few steps from the In Flanders Fields Museum and a quarter mile from the Menin Gate.
Score from 807 reviews Very good
The location of the hotel was good. The staff were all friendly. The menu was limited though the quality of the quality of the food was excellent. We stayed for nights in the new block facing the road. This is noisy and due to warm weather needed windows open. Kept awake by traffic. Installation of aircon would solve this.
Just lack of sleep
Staff were laid back, didn't hassle us.Very good location for visiting cemeteries and Ypres. A visit to the menus gate at 8.0 each night a must. Last post is sounded every night of year! People turn up to lay wreaths and pay respects. Breakfast plenty of continental food. Fresh juice and coffee. Fabulous dining room. Good parking. Free out door museum and relics on site.
This building is a bit quaint and there was a slight dusty musty smell in bedroom. Toilet was so tiny husband of 6 feet had difficulty sitting down. No coffee facilities in room.
Behind the hotel is a real museum of the first world war. Since that was the interest of our trip to Ieper, we were delighted to see a place where much still existed that played a role in the heavy fights there.
Room Location & choice of Beers
No change in Dinner menus
We felt the room was VERY basic. No tea/coffee facility in room, no iron. The wardrobe smelt of urine but when reporting was told that it was the normal smell for old wood. We have old furniture and never has it smelt of urine.
Good dinner, good breakfast, friendly staff. Excellent Wi-Fi
Pillow was too large and too hard.
two rubber protection sheets on each bed are not conducive to a good nights sleep especially when it is hot!! This was totally uneccessary
Convenient location for touring the battlefields. Superb meals. Large room with modern bathroom. Comfy beds. Accommodating staff.
The shower was fixed and too close to the wall. Wifi a little unreliable in some parts of the hotel.
The hotel has gradually been improved over the last few years, but still has all of its character.
The only thing we would like to have, is a kettle in our room to make tea or coffee.
Excellent location for visiting Ypres (beautiful, in spite of its history), Menin Gate, and all the WW1 sites we wanted to see. Good rooms - clean and comfortable.
Bedroom was very good, parking excellent
the staff at check in were not at all welcoming, evening meal was a bit pricey for what it was
This Hotel is perfect for proximity to the local WW1 sites of interest, astonshinmg examples within the grounds of the Hotel, quiet location, rooms were comfortable, food was good, highly recommend, BBC News, BBC1 and BBC2 on the tele also!
No coffee/team making facilities in the rooms
Very nice hotel in a fantastic location good service with friendly helpful staff. Would recommend to friends and family. Hopefully will return.
Lovely rooms, peaceful garden for guests, good food, friendly staff.
THE BREAKFAST WAS EXCELLENT THE STAFF ALWAYS KEPT THE PLATES FULL THE ASSISTANCE FROM THE RECEPTION WAS VERY GOOD
NO TEA OR COFFEE IN THE ROOM
Location- booked it mainly for the remains of WW1 trenches in the grounds and they didn't disappoint. The bedroom was well-appointed and beds very comfortable-very good shower and bath. Breakfast was good with lovely bread rolls, criossants etc. Also cold meats and cheese and cereal. We ate in the hotel twice and food was very good and good value. Hotel had lots of character with wooden beams and dark wood pannelling. There was also a modern building which people said was very good with lots of electronic gizzmos- we didn't have cause to go into it so I cannot comment on it. Overall a great stay, and I would love to stay there again.
Rooms were comfortable and clean good breakfast and very helpful and friendly staff, we are booking again for next year, brilliant hotel and location
We had a pleasant stay at this hotel. It was a great location, just a few miles from Ypres. The neighbouring Hooge museum was excellent.
Staff were helpful, rooms and breakfast ok. The old building has character rooms with charm, the new building is sterile and modern suggest you confirm were your staying as pictures on site are misleading. Overall it was clean and tidy within a few miles of Ypres centre.
the area around breakfast was too small. And it would be nice if it was possible to get breakfast from 7,00-7,30
Out-of-town location with good parking, convenient for touring Flanders and visiting Ypres. Friendly family run historic hotel, also with new bedroom block.
Limited restaurant facilities.
The new annex of the hotel has a large communal room with kitchen equipment, which can be used by hotel guests. The hotel is in a historic WW1 location. Remnants of the battle can be seen along a short historic trail in the hotel garden.
The hotel restaurant closes at 20:00, which is a bit early on long summer evenings.
The location was near Ypres. The hotel was in a beautiful setting & room very comfortable.
The surroundings are excellent and the location is embedded in historical intrigue. Close enough to drive into Ypres.
Poor wifi signal.
