Peacefully situated in a romantic and historic setting in 't Hooghe, on the Ieper-Menen road (exit a19 at Zillebeke/Bellewaerde). Stylish rooms with every comfort. Private parking, garden, woods, lake. Breakfast buffet and bar, restaurant with open fire. Tea-room with a unique indoor garden terrace. All kinds of local beers and snacks. Family gatherings, meetings, receptions etc...

One child under 2 years stays free of charge when using existing bedding.

One older child or adult is charged EUR 30.00 per night and person in an extra bed.

Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.

Extra beds and baby cots are upon request and need to be confirmed by the hotel.

In the countryside and in an oasis of greenery, you find the hotel « Kasteelhof ‘t Hooghe » situated 3 km of the centre of Ypres. Away from the noisy town-life, it is an ideal place to make some excursions in order to visit the region.

Room information

The three stars hotel with its 11 rooms in the same style as the building but equipped with the up-to-date modern comfort of the 21ste century. Indeed every room has toilet, bathroom, television, telephone, radio-awakening, hair-dryer and some with airco. The rooms of the first floor have their own terrace. Every room has a view on the garden with pond.

Discover the Westhoek in search of past and present Battlefield Tour & through “the Flanders Fields”. The Great War, the Yprish Salient and a lot of varieties in the countryside.

Ieper (Ypres) :

City with a very rich history : the Cloth Hall, Belfry, the renovated Market Place, St. Martin’s Cathedral, “In Flanders Fields Museum” (= a war museum for peace) St. George’s Memorial Church (= an Anglican church built in 1928 –29), the Ramparts and last but not least… the Menin Gate (the last Post is sounded every evening at 8 p.m.)

Bellewaerde Park : a very attractive Theme Park close to Ypres;

A lot of rural roads are perfectly suited for cycling. They have an approximate length of 45km such as the Route of Peace, passing along so many cemeteries.

An ideal day trip by car to discover a number of important World War I sites and other regional highlights is the “In Flanders Fields Route” that starts at Ieper and follows several secondary roads (important stop at Essex Farm with the John McCrae shelter outside Ieper on the way to Dixmude (Boezinge).

The setting was lovely, the rooms clean and spacious, staff friendly and the banana split we indulged in at 10pm was delicious.

If staying for several days, use of a car would be good, as although the taxi service was very good, you did need to book in advance.

The staff were excellent, helpfull and very friendly. The food was very good and very fairly priced as is the drinks. We shall definately use this hotel again on our next visit.

Some better towels would be nice

Excellent multilingual staff. Well cooked evening meals and acceptable breakfast. The decor throughout was dated but, in a way, added rather than subtracted to the charm of the place. Very good value.

Very welcoming, family hotel. Staff could not have been more helpful. A good value dinner from a small menu but very well cooked. A good base for those visiting the Ypres battlefields on a historic site.

De kamer en het eten

Het bad was erg glibberig, waardoor er halsbrekende toeren moesten worden uitgehaald om er uit te komen.

Het personeel was ontzettend behulpzaam en vriendelijk. Ze proberen iedereen het naar de zin te maken en maken met iedereen een praatje.De kamers zijn heel knus ingericht. Voor mensen die geinteresserd zijn in de eerste wereldoorlog, ligt het ook nog op een plek waar veel gevochten is en waar nog echte loopgraven te vinden zijn.

Enorm behulpzame en vriendelijke mensen, een knus hotel. Het ligt op een plek waar enorm hard gevochten is in de Eerste Wereldoorlog. Op het terrein ligt nog een loopgraf en een kratermeer van een granaatinslag.
