Peacefully situated in a romantic and historic setting in 't Hooghe, on the Ieper-Menen road (exit a19 at Zillebeke/Bellewaerde). Stylish rooms with every comfort. Private parking, garden, woods, lake. Breakfast buffet and bar, restaurant with open fire. Tea-room with a unique indoor garden terrace. All kinds of local beers and snacks. We particularly enjoyed its location and we all thoroughly enjoyed our evening meal. The bar has a wealth of local beers and we found the staff knowledgeable and helpful. It was a particularly cold weekend and although the corridors were not heated, our rooms were lovely and warm. Perhaps the water could have been a little warmer in the early evenings when we wanted baths to warm ourselves up after being outside for our battlefields trip. There were six of us in the group and we all commented on how lovely the hotel was. We would all return again and recommend Kasteelhof 'T Hooghe.

An ideal base for visiting WW1 memorials and sites around Ypres, with the Hooghe crater next door acting as an in-house museum. The hotel is has friendly staff, is well-maintained and properly renovated, whilst retaining its 1920s distinctiveness and charm. Tea and coffee making facilities could be provided.

Room 22 was ideal for our four-night stay; it was very large and had a good table for working at. The bathroom was also vast and well appointed. When I stayed here in August, I thought my room (No 31) was excellent, but No 22 was even better. The provision of free WiFi is one of the many reasons why this hotel is ideal for us. The restaurant is good value for money; the staff are courteous, yet unobtrusive; the location is spot-on for touring/research, and the grounds are atmospheric. In my last appraisal I said I would never need look elsewhere for an Ieper/Ypres hotel; this second visit has confirmed that opinion. As long as you have a car, this hotel is perfect.

A lovely country manor style hotel. Well appointed bedrooms with ensiute, very comfortable and welcoming. The restaurant is cosy and the food is very good, the staff are friendly and speak many languages. The location is excellent for travellers who have an interest in the great war. Free parking. Museums and sites are very close bye. Ypres Menin gate is only 15 mins away.

Closeness to the town. We arrived in the dark and thought there was very little lighting and so passed it at first. There could be more illumination for the sign and entrance to the hotel. Also in the grounds,

absolutly fab stay if you are doing the battelfields a must, the gardens are a history trip on there own make sure you make time for the gardens with sheep & reindeer in garden behind, if you eat in the hotel try the steak it melts in your mouth. large comfy room bbc & itv on telly a/c & heating. stayed in november cold foggy damp out nice & warm in room. I will stay again for a longer period next time.staff welcoming & helpfull with all requests

Having visited Ypres many times on day trips, it had always been our wish to 'overnight' in the future - the spur of the moment choice for this 2 night stay could not have been better. The earlier reviews prompted our choice for 'Kasteelhof' and we found it to be exactly as reported, very welcoming and homely Excellent location, Quiet, Interesting close WW history sites. Will be returning for a longer break !

The hotel was clean & the staff were friendly. The grounds were interesting & informative of the area. The hotel is well situated for exploring the local area. The continental breakfast supplied was excellant with plenty of choice. We would happily reccommend the hotel & would definately stay here again.

Friendly staff, very helpful. Room very comfortable. Resturant food limited choice but made up for it with excellent cooking. Breakfast everything you could wish for. All together an ideal hotel for a long weekend. We will probably go back to it someday

It's the perfect place to stay as a family if you are visting Ypres and the ww 1 battlefield sites. The staff are very friendly, helpful and informative, there are significant remains in the hotel garden (trenches, pill box and bomb crater with relics and debris) and its great value for money. Remember to turn off the noisy radiator in the rooms before bed.

Good locatioon close to Ypres. Quiet hotel with good rooms.Excellent breakfast and helpful staff. Rooms did not have tea/coffee facilities and the bar arrangements were not great.

The art was fun to be around. The breakfast was very nicely presented. We are here for five nights, not one and the room with the round bed is spacious and very comfortable.

Full of historic interest particularly for anyone interested in WW1 and the Ieper salient. It is located right next to one of the trnches which you can look round. Only a short drive to Ieper where there is easy parking for visiting. Hotel itself is a really lovely place with lovely rooms and excellent value for money.
