Although there is an outside area with tables and chairs, there is no inside lounge or bar area.Unfortunately the weather was very wet during our visit which meant that we had no choice but to go back to our room.
There is no lift in the hotel and access from the car park up to the Reception area within the shop is via the fire escape; however Guy and Maria ensured that we were given help to and fro with our cases. We had not appreciated before booking that bedrooms such as ours could be on a floor which could only be reached by climbing 4 flights of stairs. Access to rooms could, therefore, obviously be very difficult for anyone with mobility problems.
The hotel was very centrally located (within a newsagents shop), with free car parking facilities. Access to the street was either through the shop or via a separate side exit. The hosts Guy and Maria, and the other staff we encountered, were very friendly and went out of their way to ensure that we were happy with the facilities provided and our stay in general The room could be described as basic with limited drawer space. It was, however, spacious and clean with a very comfortable bed and good quality pillows and bed linen. A TV and mini-bar were also provided. The lovely white towels were automatically changed daily and the bed was changed after 2 days. The continental breakfast was served in a pleasant dining area and was very comprehensive with great attention paid to ensuring all items were kept fresh during the breakfast period and regularly replenished. The selection included excellent coffee/tea, cereals, a choice of breads/rolls, soft boiled eggs, toast, croissants and pastries, with yogurts and small dishes of fresh fruit stored in a mini frig, and cheese and meat kept cool by an under dish ice bag. No hot meals were available.
