The style and position
Location is key, near to public transport, parking and city center. Gentle hosts, who'll give you tickets for free coffee at the winehouse. Very comfortable beds. Basic but good enough breakfast.
(Nice) old building(s) so...you can hear the neigbours move about, talk, cough... Small things that should be repaired in the room.
Private room, very near the city center, great included breakfast, SUPER fast internet, quiet street, free coffee or tea every day of your stay. Close to train station. Updates bathroom and nice shower.
Bathroom was on a different level, albeit still private. The bath room shower head mount was broken, so the handheld thing was just kind of hanging there.
I really loved the location. It is in a lovely old building near the center of the city - only 5 minutes to the Grand Place. The rooms are very nice, clean and with a wonderful bed. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast room is in the little Italien Osteria. It is such a nice place to be. The breakfast was really good with good Italian coffee. For lunch - taste the Lasagne in the Osteria – it’s one of the best I ever taste. I will definitely stay again!
- No hot water for the whole weekend - The wifi gateway had to be restarted every time - We had to fix the tent's gear by ourself - The TV audio was broken
The room was very nice, clean and attractive. Nice linens. Wi-fi access. Great location. Very nice staff. Good breakfast - excellent croissants. Very good value for the money.
Room on the ground floor. It was quite noisy in the neighborhood. The shower drain did not work effectively, so the bath room had a bit of a smell of sewage.
Loved the location in Saint-Gery with it's less touristic bars, restaurants and cafes. Lovely old building with a lot of character, yet with modern conveniences. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The little, stylish Italian restaurant & wine bar serves as a reception and breakfast room. It was open from morning till night and we were able to leave our luggage there as we arrived in the morning well before the check in time. Breakfast was good with excellent Italian coffee. We also went for drinks in the restaurant one evening, the Italian wine selection there is well worth exploring. Would definitely stay again!
Very friendly and welcoming.
The staff are kind and very helpful. Can't beat the location--close to the train station, Grand Place, Mannekin Pis, shopping, museums. We were able to walk everywhere except the Horta Museum. Great bed. Spacious rooms for Europe. The coffee drinks and pastries with breakfast are fantastic. Rooms are very clean.
Soundproofing is nonexistent on the ground floor. We could hear every conversation and sound in other rooms and outside. Towels, shampoo and soap weren't replaced or replenished during a five night stay. I'm sure we could have asked for more next door, but we had our own supply to tap into. Room needs many small repairs but we were told they were updating it soon.
everithing was perfect
there is no shelf in the bathroom
Very nice people
Very nice rooms, very comfortable bed. Bathroom was small but very clean
There was no real curtain at the living area, while in front of the window was a street light. Therefore it didn't really get dark at night.
Based on other reviews I thought this place would be great. I although got a room on the main floor which was just outside one of the main door and could hear everything as people were coming in and out all night. The breakfast was very simple but had good croissants and good coffee The building was exactly as in the pictures in a cobblestone alley with wood shutters The location was good and bad good as it was very central, but I would not have wanted my daughter to stay here alone as you have 2 very deserted alleys surrounding the hotel I believe my stay would have been much more enjoyable had I stayed in a room with wifi and not on the first floor
I would not recommend this hotel for mature persons as the stairs are very narrow and there is no elevator and the main floor room the bathroom is in the basement down a very tiny steep set of stairs The room smelled like fabric softener to the point that I found it ver powering it may have been a cheap room spray as the main door room has a faint smell of sewage I booked the room based on the fact it had wifi and the wifi code did not work and the staff could not reset the code as only the ower could and he was not there For the room and no wifi I felt this hotel was over priced
Great breakfeast and very helpful and welcoming staff!
Very knowledgeable and friendly staff, good buffet breakfast with multiple beverage top ups! Central location, excellent fast wifi connection.
Double bed made from two single that parted during the hours of darkness, this is typical Euro style but they can be made not to separate and finished with a centre strip, this is pefectly acceptable. Noisy Saturday night, closing the outer wooden shutters helps greatly, inconsiderate other guests, excessive noise late at night.
We had a wonderful stay at La Petite Eclipse from Dec 25 - 29, 2013. The owners were incredibly friendly and helpful. The bed was possibly the most comfortable I've ever slept in. Breakfast was very nice, and saved us time and money in the morning. We couldn't believe how great the location was -- very close to Grand Place and Moeder Lambic (our favorite bar in Brussels), and an easy walk to Cantillon Brewery. We'd absolutely recommend La Petite Eclipse to anyone!
Close to center, friendly girl who helps you with the check in. Good breakfast in their nice winebar. Nice (bath)room, good wifi, good money/quality ratio
The check in was a bit messy. There was a hole in the blanket cover. It was extremely noisy at night. There are pubs/cafes nearby and a lot of people decided to stay in the street of the hostel to have a chat and scream. Multiple groups did this during the night. First groups i was to tired to be bothered, but at 5 i went outside and the last group went away.... But I hope for other guests this is a exeption.. The girl of the staff told me so and i dont read it in the other reviews. It's not the staffs fault anyway, but it can be very annoying if you're looking for a good place to actually sleep ;)
Very clean, comfortable, good location. Owners were very friendly and accomodating.
Although the property was 'no frills' it had loads of charm and clean and fresh. The bed was very comfortable. The check in desk was a moments walk and staff were helpfull and friendly. I would recommend to anybody who doesn't need mod cons and services of a hotel, but still wants to be sure of comfort.
It didn't bother me, but the stairs may prove a problem to anybody who has a problem getting up and down stairs with ease.
Very centrally located, less than a 10 minute walk to the main square. Clean, helpful staff, good breakfast.
A little difficult to find since it is on a very small street.
The location is excellent. Breakfast is ok.
Of course, due to the location, it can be noisy at night. According to booking.com my room should have had a bath and bidet, but it didn't. The room wasn't clean: the floor was very dirty (hair all over, even on the walls).
The location is really good...a few minutes from the main square
No heating in the bathroom
Great apartment close to the centre of Brussels , 5 minutes walk to Grand Place. Clean, small apartment with free wifi, very comfortable room and good price.
Breakfast is very basic...could do with a better choice of cereals and some fruit!..
Bathroom was on another floor and there was some water leakage.
Very good location. Decent breakfast, decent bed. Helpful and friendly manager/owner.
Bathroom in a cellar. A foul odour coming sometimes into the room from the stairs... Not very well suited for business travellers -- breakfast starts at 8:30! (though, in all fairness, I was served earlier after explaining my needs to the manager). Erratic WiFi.
