Homed in an 18-century Belgian farm, Golf & Hôtel de Falnuée is set in the heart of the Bois de Mielmont Forest and features a restaurant and a terrace.
Score from 49 reviews Very good
The location is a bit odd, giving the impression of an ex airport (though the airstrip is still used). The menu is daunting with some amazing food including venison and wild boar in season. Pleasant and attentive staff.
The rooms are a little down-at-heal and plainly furnished (but the heating was very efficient and there was plenty of hot water).
Location, Peace and Quiet, Friendly Staff, Easy Parking, Free Wifi, Overall Value for Money.
Price of breakfast (additional) is on the high side and was declined for that reason.
Excellent Food Unusual location at small airport Quiet Location Free Parking
Very Basic Rooms
The location is very quiet. The restaurant was the biggest surprise - good portions and high quality food, with a very reasonable price. Cheap! Fresh breakfast pre-selected - Good quality items.
Staff spoke very limited English, as it is a Hotel that is a little off of any main routes. Rooms are very basic. No Lift/Easy stairway to the upstairs (curled staircase only)
The peaceful rural location with good road access in various directions without needing to brave Namur town centre traffic. For me,an almost unique opportunity to see my aeroplane from my bed! Although very simple, the room was large and very clean ,and the bed was comfortable. The presence of a fan was of vital importance, not just for cooling but as a blanker for nocturnal noise from the adjacent room. The simple breakfast had good quality ingredients and was of adequate quantity. The adjacent flying club brasserie was available all day for lunches and snacks. In the evening, the restaurant was excellent in choice, quality, and service.
The reception arrangements were unsatisfactory for a supposedly three star hotel.I arrived at 1415 to be faced by a locked door and u/s bell/intercom.A notice listed two phone numbers which were not answered.Nobody was available until at 1700. On departure, there was nobody to receive the key. A huge bunch of keys was regularly left in the front door whilst staff WERE present-I do not know if these included room master keys. The sound insulation between adjacent rooms needs improving-ordinary conversational voices were audible. At least four inches could be added to one side of each wall without interfering with the window opening.
Quiet, peaceful, with a superb restaurant and close enough to the motorway to make it a good journey 'break' point
Facilities are a bit 'basic' for a 3 star but comfortable enough, although beginning to show age.
The stuff was friendly and relaxed. The room had a good light.
There was no instruction for the TV, and we couldn't get a TV program, only Radio. We also couldn't ask someone because the reception was not always open. For the price you would expect more. It is really more a 2 star hotel.
