Le Moulin Simonis  

The Moulin Simonis is a very pleasant small, rural hotel. Its owners make you very welcome and went out of their way to help us with our very basic French. The grounds and the surrounding area are attractive and it is very peaceful. We had an excellent dinner in the restaurant and the breakfasts were good also.

We found it quite difficult to find the Hotel - it is not actually in the village of La Foret itself, and it does not have adequate signing outside. There were no television sets in the bedrooms, which did not bother us at all but other guests might miss them.

The food at this hotel was excellent, we had one of our best meals ever in the restaurant. They were obviously in the course of spending a lot of money doing it up and it looked really good.

Unfortunately when we arrived we were told there had been a booking problem and there was only one room available instead of the two we had booked. In the end the occupants of the big family room were moved out for us and the four of us slept in that room.

Nice room, good breakfast

A little bit lost in the middle of nowhere, lack of infos/leaflets on activities around, no-one at desk/difficult to find staff/owners even to check in! No cellphone signal. Ideal if you just want to rest or be cut out of the world though!

Location was very nice , we got good value for our money.

Excellent small hotel in a perfect, quiet location!!! The position was excellent to explore the villages around! My family and I had a lovely stay. Room was comfortable and clean. Very friendly staff. Good value for money! I highly recommend it.

The only problem was that the lady didn't speak English but she was so friendly and willing to help us that it was not a real problem after all.

Sur présentation de la réservation online il nous a fallu attendre 10 minutes,à en croire cette attente nous n'étions certainement attendu,la chambre que nous attribué l'hotel présentait des taches de moisissure sur un mur et le papier peint prés de la fenétre était décollé,sanitaire vétuste

L hygiène de la chambre , toile d' araignées , araignées aux plafond , poussières au sols, odeurs de renfermées. Nous avons été très déçu .au repas du soir nous avons attendu 45 minutes avant d' être servi en boisson!!!!! Une table de 10 personnes ont été privilégies!!! Soit jamais plus!!! Accueille très décevant et pas aimable ni souriant!!!!!

Le couple d’hôteliers n'a pas de personnel et n'est pas très accueillant. Le service n'est pas professionnel, il faut toujours attendre. La chambre n'est pas isolée, aucune intimité ! Le petit déjeuner n'est pas continental tel que vous l'indiquez, il faut réclamer pour avoir autre chose à manger que pain, beurre, confiture...

Locatie sprak ons aan. Enige flexibiliteit bij het personeel op vraag van ons om vroeger te kunnen ontbijten dan voorzien ( onvoorzien vroeger moeten vertrekken 's morgens)

Kwaliteit van de bedden : geen klassieke boxspring maar netten onder de matrassen die behoorlijk doorgeven, gevolg : rugpijn bij het opstaan.

Bij het binnenkomen van het hotel lag er midden de vloer een hondendrol! Een jonge hond kwam uit de keuken gelopen. Alhoewel een slordig geklede man verklaarde dat de hondendrol niet van zijn hond kwam maar van een pas vertrokken jager, kon ik hiermee geen genoegen nemen. Van een ontvangst kon men niet spreken.

La chambre.

Prachtige ligging midden in de natuur, omringd door vele wandelroutes. Uitstekende keuken, aangename ruime kamers. Vriendelijke gastvrouw. Mogelijkheid voor lekker lunchpakket. Aanraders voor natuurliefhebbers en wandelaars/stappers.

Het weekend was te kort ;-)

Stijlvol gerestaureerde molen. Zeer goed eten. Nette kamers met eigen bad en wc. Zeer redelijke prijzen.

Personeel spreekt alleen Frans, geen Engels of Nederlands.
