We loved the whole atmosphere of this hotel. On arrival we were offered a welcome drink while the owner explained everything to do in the area. When shown to our room (all rooms have a different quirky theme) we were shown how to use the equipment and told to help ourselves to the free mini bar, chocolates, nibbles etc. Breakfast was a sheer delight ranging from home made foie gras, pates and breads, to local cheeses and meats. A large variety of cereals, rice pudding infused with vanilla and a large bowl of fresh fruit salad crammed with strawberries was also on offer. For those who like a hot breakfast, a lovely unusual menu of different ingredients was also available. All washed down with a glass of champagne if you wished. We would most definitely return to this hotel and it is a must if you are staying in Ypres.

The friendly reception, the food and the hotel itself. We've stayed in some of the world's great hotels and this is absolutely one of the best. They don't cut corners.

The only thing we would suggest is that they double-glaze their windows for rooms overlooking the main street. The traffic outside is pretty constant until late at night.

Our warm and welcoming host who immediately resolved the issue with our very very heavy luggage and provided us with a ground floor room which was fabulous including enormous spa bath and outdoor terrace for our use. The breakfast was probably one of the best we have ever experienced with hot freshly cooked options which were really good and a little different from the usual humdrum food. We absolutely loved our all too brief stay at the Main Street Hotel and thoroughly recommend it to any other visit to the lovely city of Ieper.

Parking across the road or round the church has 3 hour limit except weekends but it isn't expensive in Ypres.

Wonderfully welcoming owner plus one of the most delicious breakfasts during our stay in Northern Europe (hard to beat homemade wild boar sausage!). After a hard day on the western front the Main Street Hotel feels like home when you return home. One if the best small hotels we have visited in years. Peter. St george utah. Usa

Our humbled trip of fathers and sons (4 in party) decided to visit Ypres and we booked to stay at the Main Street Hotel. From that moment on we engaged with the wonderful Carine who helped us plan our visit before we had even arrived. Her hospitality and knowledge of the surrounding area helped make this trip, not only an emotional one, but a memorable one too. Like many other reviews, we have stayed at many hotels over the years but if we could bottle the Main Street Hotel and Carine, my holidays and breaks for the rest of my life would be Perfect. Thank you Carine and one day we hope to return with the rest of our family.

    We did not like leaving!

Overall excellent service: kind and delightful owner who was very ready to offer advice about what to see in Ypres. Plenty of brochures on offer. Really excellent breakfast: the scrambled egg with truffles was really rather special. Then there was home made bread and a fine assortment of meats and cheeses -- and very delicious pate. Most comfortable bedroom with many thoughtful facilities: minibar was free --- just help yourself. Everywhere interesting pictures and ornaments -- almost like a small and fascinating museum. Throughout WIFI was quickly available. We decided that we shall definitely visit Main Street again.

I have nothing to say here.

BRILLIANT!! That's all that needs saying. Everything was exceptional. Carine the owner could not have been more helpful or hospitable. The whole hotel although small, is wonderfully decorated and everything has been thought of for you. The size is part of its charm. The room we had was huge, with free minibar, huge bath with it's own TV, huge bed and plenty of space. The breakfast. Well, again exceptional. Many name hotels could take a leaf out of how Carine and her husband present their breakfast for their guests. We were not wanting for anything. My husband said it was the best hotel he has EVER stayed in, and that would number in the thousands!! A brilliant hotel, in a brilliant town and region. We will be back to stay again one day. Thank you Carine
