Martin's Grand Hotel  

The building itself and especially the dining room was very nice with a good atmosphere. Wifi included is appreciated. The fitness facilities although small was nice and fresh.

There were hairs left in the bathtub from the previous guest that had not been cleaned off! Incredibly disgusting and it brings down the entire impression of the hotel.

The hotel is very well appointed and run very efficiently. We stayed here eleven years ago and it has been developed even more since then. La Sucrerie restaurant is an amazing building. As it is reminiscent of Roman architecture they have used it to feature tasteful displays of Herculaneum.

Eleven years ago we heard a nightingale singin in the trees outside our room. Those trees have now been cut down to make way for further extensions!

Less than satisfactory cleaning of room and bathroom

The service was excellent. I had dinner with a buisness partner and it was excellent. The ambiance was warm.

The ambiance in the room is too strict and cold (not the temperature). However for a Holland or German culture, it should be perfect.

Location, friendly staff and comfort.

Excellent dinner menu. Comfortable room with all amenities including efficient heating. Friendly staff. Ideal location for visiting Waterloo or Brussels.

Huge variety at breakfast but 'hot' food only luke warm, bizarre behaviour of jacuzzi which turns its self on after the bath has been used! Reception called this 'normal'. No where to sit after dinner except noisy bar area with 2 televisions on.

In general, for a 4 stars hotel, the room is not very well equiped. Bathroom not well finished and equiped.

Very nice room for a good price. Staff spoke Dutch, even being in French-speaking Belgium

It was one of the best breakfast buffets I have ever experienced. Dinner in the restaurant was top notch! The bartenders were so friendly and genuinely interested in how our girls did in the volleyball tourney.

We had some issues with hot water in the morning.

I like several things about the Martin's Grand Hotel. First and foremost is the hotel itself. It is kept in excellent condition. My room (both times I have stayed there) has been very clean and well appointed. Everything I've needed has been available. The front desk staff have been exceptionally nice and accommodating with any questions/issues I've raised. The Hotel's restaurant is excellent, first class. My dinner there on Friday was just beautifully served and truly tasty. The breakfast service is second to none with something for everyone's needs. The only thing I would mention would be that the bed is a bit firmer than what I would prefer but that may be more a "regional" taste than I am used to. But as tired as I was, I did sleep well.

Really nothing that made a difference to my stay.

Pleasant rooms, agreeable reception staff, five star breakfast (One of the best hotel breakfast I have had) included in the room rate.

Unbelievably surly waiting staff in the otherwise fine restaurant. We were left unattended at our table for 20 mins at a time - no attempt to serve water or wine or to acknowledge our existence, while the locals were sedulously attended to. No waiter ever assayed a smile.When thanked for what was, in fact, an act of egregious service (our daughter, who was ill, insisted on being served quickly and the kitchen obliged) the waiter said, without a smile or any sort of grace,that he was just doing his job.

Good standard hotel with good restaurant but expensive. Parking is plentiful but confusing.

Super adjoining rooms ideal for older children.

Free car parking, excellent breakfast, cable television, good 10 minutes walk to centre and easy to find. Nice size of rooms

Not worth paying extra for spa bath - very noisy. Hard bed and expensive internet.

Restaurant: tasty food with normal portions. After the dinner, you still have possibility to move your body.

Noise insulation: very bad. If someone use the bath tub or switch-plug in his room, you hear it as you were next to it. No 4 stars wearth: rather 2 stars for noise. also corridornoise. Perhaps the reception can give their gasts some earplugs.

La salle du restaurant est superbe, le petit-déjeuner sous forme de buffet est bien fourni, l'hôtel dispose d'un grand parking sécurisé, la chambre est spacieuse...pas grand chose à redire
