Hotel Matelote    

Staff was outstanding, coffee in lobby was a nice offering. Courtyard was cute.

Rooms were sparse and there was a lot of wasted space. No color (all white) was boring. Floor was weird and looked dirty.No elevator, which was fine for us, but could be a problem for others.

Can't drive to it. Need luggage wheels from car park 150(?) m away Old building with no lift, but staff will carry bags on request!!

Lovely staff, helps with a smile. Room 3 is nice, but room 10 is marvellous! huge, romantic and unique. Perfect location.

Shower was very difficult to work Couldn't get a bath hot enough There were 2 speakers with very soft music playing in the room that we couldn't switch off There were no instructions of how to use the telephone when we anted to call reception

There was no elevator and the stairs are rather steep and narrow. With big, heavy, suitcases or with older people that may be a problem.

Friendly, nice extra touches such as free juice, Tea, coffee and water in your room and a welcome drink on arrival

The room could do with a little TLC, quite a few marks on the walls and a cracked tile in the bathroom

Location was great; we did not take the breakfast but found a great spot just a block away; I believe it was the Break or something similar (freshly squeezed oj). Our room was small but quite adequate and the price was perfect.

Our age is showing; we were dreaming of elevators although the very nice desk clerk did move 3 of the 4 bags into the room before we got back after dropping the luggage.

Location - city centre, lights in apartment, excellent internet connection, friendly and helpful hotel staff, apartment decoration, facilities and space.

Very friendly and welcoming staff, beautiful large room with skylights and great bath&shower, just a very calm, pleasant, comfortable place to stay. It is right next door to a wonderful little restaurant which the staff recommended - delicious food, perfect ambiance. We fully enjoyed our stay at Hotel Matelote and would highly recommend it to others.

Such an easy place to stay, comfortable beds, friendly front desk, fantastic location.

Our room was pretty hot at night. Also could hear people moving around in room upstairs - we were in room 1.

I like small quiet hotels situated near the places I want to visit. Matelote was small, mostly quiet, beautifully located, a nice blend of old and new, definitely stylish with a good atmosphere.

The only thing I didn't like: the courtyard below our window was a place for people to smoke and talk, and this kept us awake a little longer than we would have wished. I really do like quiet hotels.

I found my room awkward to reach. It was hot and I found it difficult to understand where the fire exit for my room could be found.

The location was excellent and the price reasonable.

The room we had was small but reasonable although the toilet was a bit too close to the sleeping area and there was an unpleasant odor.

Modern and updated design. Complimentary chilled sodas in room and use of coffee machine in lounge were great. Hotel was located in great area, walking distance to groenplats and trams to get to almost any where in city.

Room does not have air-con. Fortunately, a standing fan was provided.

Great staff, nice interior design, and good location.

The location was OK, the rooms were clean but the most positive was the very helpful staff.
