The location is quite okay, close to the train station and the main shopping street of Antwerpen, and a 10 minute walk to the Grote Markt. Hotel is average, decent, like every other chain hotel in the world. The service. We were given a room with a broken toilet, and after the technician couldn't fix it, they gave us the key for a single room 4 floors up to use the toilet during our stay... Not acceptable at all of course! The manager tried to set it straight later, after we complained again, and got a new technician to fix the toilet and offered us a free drink at the bar. But we felt like a number, and not like people, in the way they treated us. Will not book a Mercure hotel again, after this experience. Much more prefer small scale personal hotels!

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a good location at the end of the Mier, within easy walking distance of both the railway station and the city centre. Nice large rooms too. The room we were in seemed to be near to the hotel laundry or something as there seemed to be noises like dryers running all night which woke me up a few times.

Good location, relatively close to all the places you want to go to when visiting the city and the staff is friendly The problem is that it was my third time and my impression is worse each time... Some rooms are really uncomfortable, as my recent one - a small room, a small bathroom

I didn't spend a lot of time in the hotel due to a late meeting and subsequent early morning, but one thing I have to say is that the staff are excellent! Very welcoming, saw them helping new arrivals very nicely indeed! Also worth mentioning is the excellent location of the hotel, smack in the center but not in a busy street. Nothing to mention here.

The staff, especially Patrick (but everybody else too) were extremely friendly and helpful, chapeau. The location is great, the rooms excellent, spacious. There was coffee to be had quite cheaply at the lobby. The bathtub is a bit dangerous, too high for a normal-sized woman to step over. The breakfast is our main complaint - it is extremely expensive (18 e!) and unaffordable. The wi-fi was so and so.

Great location. Very close to Meir (shopping street), Central station. Bus station is just around the corner. Very friendly and helpful staff (Special thanks to Roman for his kind assistance). Comfortable room (I usually do not sleep well in the hotels, but here the bed is just like at home:)). Tea kettle in the room. Bathroom equipment is a little bit worn. Sound insulation is poor.

Excellent location - all key visitor attractions easily accessible on foot. The room was large, modern and clean: excellent value. An electricity socket in the room had been left without a blanking plate over it, so that live electric wires were exposed. Similarly there was one like this in the hall. When pointed out to a staff member, we were informed that this could not be fixed, as electricians only work on weekdays. The question why were these left like this was never answered. A small child could have been electrocuted!

The staff (Patrick and his new colleague) could not have been more friendly and more helpful. I would definitely stay at the hotel again and recommend it to others! It's ideally placed for both the Univeristy and the 'old' town. Although there is free wifi, which is one of the reasons why I picked the hotel, there was a problem with it, which was a shame... I hope that it gets sorted soon...

Perfect hotel, very hospitable staff, location is great, you can go sightseeing by feet, parking is near which is usefull for those who comes by car. Lot of restaurants and caffes nearby. Room is comfortable, clean, rather big. Tasty candies at teh reception ;-)) Thank You!!! the bathroom is ok, but be better with renovation and also if the shower was bigger. It's just kind of possible improvements, not a sort of complain :-))

Very helpful staff. During our stay on one of the nights my wife felt a bit unwell. The attending receptionist that night was very helpful in locating the nearest 24/7 pharmacies.

Room, although it meant climbing a flight of stairs above the lift limit ! When I was leaving at 0630, I went for breakfast and finding no staff around, but with tables laid and rolls fruit salad, meat and cheese ready I had two rolls with butter and meat. When the staff came in they asked if I had to pay for breakfast and , as I didn't actually know, I said I would happily pay if necessary. When I checked out a few minutes later, having paid for my stay weeks earlier, I was told that the meal was e18. I objected but was told it was a Champagne meal.Well I hadn't been told that but was then informed that if I wasn't happy I could go in and get some Champagne. Neither I, nor I suspect any other guest, wanted to be drinking at that time of day. I left feeling very annoyed and will never return to any of this chain's Hotels !
