It looks great, but thats all there is...
The shower hose was leaking, as a result that the shower was unusable. The staff at the restaurant was incapable of almost everything. After waiting more then 20 minutes we decided to leave. The elevator got stuck between two floors and stayed there for 10 minutes.
Recommend a new touch. Some items in the room show age.
The location of this hotel is superb, as is the decor, ambience and sense of luxury. Having stayed there for a long weekend in December, I could not fault it it any way. It is just a short walk to Grand Place and Rue Neuve shopping; in addition the metro is only a few metres from the door, one stop from Gare Centrale. The food in the Bistro is very good and it is a very relaxing place to spend a few hours after walking the streets of this lovely city. The hotel is excellent value for money, given its location and luxury.
Noisy police sirens on street outside.
very efficient and the staff were very helpful. location was brilliant 5 minutes from Grande Place
Light bulb and shower head holder needed repair. informed hotel but no action was taken. Which was the only blemish to a lovely stay ( no big deal really - but thought they would have done it)
Lovely hotel whose location was just right for the Xmas markets, Grand Place and old parts of Brussels. Train station was within easy walking distance for connection to and from Bruges. Excellent breakfast and bars.
Would have liked some tea and coffee making facilities in the room.
A hotel with lots of character . It's like going back to the 1900's ....We upgraded to a Junior Suite and WOW for the price it was pretty incredible . It would have been three times the price in London ,
There was nothing to dislike .
Location General stylishness of the place Staff at reception Service
Cafe in hotel not open before 11am Room smelt like someone had been smoking there before (understand this is not the fault of the hotel but was noticeable) One of the two (modern) lifts not working so delays at busy times. Prices have gone up with no enhancement of service (no dressing gowns in bathroom).
Decor, exellent breakfast, good choice of food, dining room staff and doorman extremely professional and hellpful. Shame they were let down by Reception staff.
Room was not ready on our arrival at 2pm & asked to return at 4pm. Room was still not ready at 4pm and told to come back in 10 mins. Went for a cup of tea in Hotel Cafe. Sat for 15 mins without waiter coming to take order. Asked two waiters to take order but both said they were too busy. Returned to reception and after a further 10 mins was allocated a room on the 5th floor although a room on ground or first floor was requested at time of booking. Extremely surly and unco-operative reception staff. I summoned the manager who arranged for us to have a cup of tea while he attended to matters. Eventually got into room on 3rd floor at 5pm. Reception staff are awful!!
Public areas are amazing.
Decor in bedrooms needs updating, more staff required, lifts need upgrading, electric kept failing, furniture worn out
Good location, good reception staff.
Dated bedrooms rather than having character. Paid for WiFi. Very poor service in Cafe/bar.
The smell of the drains in the corridors
The hotel was superb from check in to check out great staff great hotel will be going back
Location is good, big room, enough space, our room had huge terrace.
we booked room with two beds , in our big room 2 beds were a bit narrow
Fabulous hotel near to Grand Place and the adjacent historic area of Brussels. Also excellent Public Transport links. We were offered an upgrade to suite status which was very welcome.
The suite was cold! The heating system was extremely noisy and could not be tolerated for very long. Fortunately the beds were very warm.
Great location, central to most of the tourist landmarks.
Very poor internet service. The room we had was in needed to be redone.
The staff were so friendly, courteous and helpful. Our room was well appointed and luxurious. Hotel is so beautiful but not ridiculously expensive. Going back every Christmas just love this hotel.
Location. General ambience
Room cold, tired decor, needs refreshing.
Reception area, breakfast room, and lift.
Room was in very poor decoration, paint and wallpaper missing radiator not working and covered up, heating via air con which was very noisey, trouser press broken, light not working. Breakfast very poor...cold sausages, cold bacon etc
- location, close to the subway and the Grand Place, - friendly staff
- disgusting view from the window on the adjacent wall (claustrophobic), - dirty room with paint peeling from the wall, - not working wi-fi in the room
Comfortable beds and lovely, up to date bathrooms. Beautiful, historic building. Truly, felt I was in Europe on a vacation.
Very old elevator and didn't always work. Quite a hike up to the 4th floor! Also, would have enjoyed a lobby with couches and chairs to wait for friends.
Location, location, location. Breakfast is excellent.
Bathrooms need some renovation.
Friendly staff, big rooms
It would have been nice to have coffee in rooms
The decor and the bar
A rat running across the large function room on the ground floor off the lobby -
