Hotel Metropole    

Excellent staff and very nice lobby, backing on to the main shopping street and within easy distance of the main square. Breakfast buffet was excellent and even had champagne.

Room was a bit tired and could have done with a bit of sprucing up(labels peeling off etc.)

Staff did not demonstrate interest in finding a sit at the restaurant. I tried to reserve for 2 days but it was not possible and I was treated very friendly

The fresh flowers in the lobby were beautiful.Friendly,efficient staff,large priveledge room complete with chandelier.Free softdrink,beer and water daily(2 of each).Checkin facilities and large stained glass windows were great.The whole hotel generated an atmosphere from 1895 the year it was built.Breakfast package was included and was lovely.

If you had to purchase breakfast separately it was expensive .You can get cheaper in nearby cafes.

Hotel cannot rise above its Lexington Avenue neighborhood. This is not Fifth Avenue. I felt the Metropole was atmospheric, my wife felt it was just old. Rather have stayed at the Meridien directly across from the central train station and in the heart of the nicer part of Brussels.

The entrance & receiption area beautiful and the staff very helpful.

The rooms we stayed 111,110 and 109 old fashion and could do with painting

The transportation fee was promised for 45 € from hotel to the airport. However, the driver charged for 60€, claiming that the extra came from traffic jam. I've done earlier exactly same trip and to my consideration it was not too bad. The reservation should have been warned me in advance.

Loved everything. It looks like a palace, has amazing deco in the rooms. All you see in the hotel's pictures are real! The antique elevator is a charm, the hotel and the rooms are very romantic and confortable. Great bathroom facilities. Very friendly and well prepared staff.

The lift should be operated by a professional used to open and slide the heavy doors. I almost got my fingers clipped, and it can be difficult to open and close the metal doors with all your luggage.

Beautiful Art-Noveau interior, very comfortable room - especially the bed - and a first-class dining experience. We had a room at the back, which was very quiet, and with a view over the city. A Metro/Tram station is immediately outside the hotel.

"Vintage" taste, rooms been the same since the '60s, but perfectly clean and maintained, a great experience to jump back in time and luxury attentions. Perfect attentions from all the staff (for example, but not only "specialty", they open the elevator door for You each time You take it!!)

I ran a way and loos my mony the rooms. Was in very bad condition. So dirty floor bath room so old and bad. I never been in 5 star like this in all my 40 years of traveling in the world

I have stayed at Hotyel Metropole regulary during 10 years. The historical and cultural atmosphere and architecture is so important. From time to time I get very luxurious rooms and suites. This time I was upgraded to an incredible beautiful and huge "royal suite". I staied as a queen. Enjoied every second.

The hotel is a charming old luxury hotel with chandeliers, old furniture and classic interior design. The hotel bar is also nice and elegant.

The business center was not in use and the wireless internet hardly worked. All in all, the place is a bit run down.

The room was absolutely lovely. We only stayed one night, but it was the last night of our vacation. We were totally exhausted from the trip, and instead of getting out to explore Brussels, we couldn't bring ourselves to leave the luxurious room! We eventually did make it out to dinner, though. The hotel is very close to the Grand Place and plenty to eat, drink, and see.

Grand appearance (slightly faded) in a very central location. Staff very helpful and lovely breakfast. Any quibbles we had about the hotel are minor - a lovely stay.

They didn't turn down the bed in the evening and no lotions etc in the bathroom until requested. There is a lovely bar area but it wasn't staffed and wasn't being used.

The atmosphere and decore at the hotel is spectacular. Walking through the front doors is like stepping back into a time of opulence and luxury found in some old movies. The staff offered impecable service and the room was pure luxury. It's central location makes it great for exporing the city on foot or by public transit. I would highly recommend The Hotel Metropole to anyone visiting Brussells!!

The room was luxuriously decorated with a chandelier, very comfortable bed and large bathroom with bath. For the rate we paid via booking.com I would call it excellent value for money. The staff were very helpful and we enjoyed the pianist playing in the bar on Thursday evening. The wifi was free and worked well for most of our three-night stay, although it stopped working on one of the evenings. This was the second time we have stayed at The Metropole and we would definitely stay again.

The price of the breakfast. It takes a lot for us to leave a hotel in the morning in search of an alternative breakfast venue, but 28 euros per person is just too much. If it had been, say, 20 euros, we probably would have given it a go but asking 28 euros just seems a bit cheeky.

This historic hotel has a beautiful lobby.

The rooms were shabby and dated and the service wasn't representive of a 4 or 5* hotel as Booking.com advertises.

We had an enjoyable stay at Hotel Metropole and were fortunate to get a free upgrade to a junior suite. Breakfast was included with our room and it was above average. The location was great and I appreciated the free drinks in the mini-bar.

My only issue was with my own timing to visit Brussels and that is certainly not the hotel's fault. Late March it is still too cold there and all the fountains were empty with no flowers put out yet (understandably). Also, for Easter weekend a large number of shops were closed, which was different than our experience in Amsterdam the previous year. I will come back, but will save my trips for the summer.
