I enjoyed that my dog was welcome.

Arriving at hotel was complicated by car. There was not really any space to drive up to unload or check in. While a nice hotel, I would likely stay someplace else next time.

I loved the decor which is most likely its most outstanding usp. The location was excellent, near to all amenities and shops and close to the train station and underground. The staff were also excelllent, friendly and very efficient.

We stayed on two separate nights over the course of a long weekend. The first night we stayed in an older room which had a beautiful chandelier as its centre point. The rest of the room however, looked quite tired and uncared for - wallpaper coming away from the walls, chipped paint, etc. which let it down somewhat. Our room also looked out onto the back of the hotel which wasn't very attractive. Two nights later we returned to the hotel, but this time we stayed in the new 'wing' (Room 6057). Due to our allocated room being overlooked by the cleaners we were offered this as an 'upgrade' once we reported the oversight to reception. This was a very nice room with a great view of the city which could be enjoyed from a generously sized terrace. Fittings were modern and to standard although the plug socket in the anti-room was hanging out of the wall and therefore a potential safety hazard. All in all we had a good time at the Metropole. The free mini bar was a nice addition,

Since last year this hotel lost a level of comfort and schic provided earlier.

We had a problem with heat system parcially solved.

The design of the hotel is old and historic, and its location is very centrally located to the Grande Place.

The Hotel's wi-fi was not working throughout the visit. Also, the bed cover was dirty, and I asked for it to be changed twice, and the hotel did not bother complying.

It is a lovely old hotel, restored to it's original splendour. The Bar, Cafe, Lobby and Restaurant are fabulous. It is in a great location just a few minutes walk from Grand Place and adjacent to Metro and Tram for accessing the rest of Brussels.

Some of the rooms are not what you you expect in a 5 star hotel. If you book a "Superior" room it is not superior to anything, it is very basic. "Superior" is the lowest standard of room at the Hotel Metropole. The better rooms are "Privilege" and the best rooms are "Suites". We were allocated a "superior" room which was very scruffy with unfinished decoration and loose electrical fittings with a window on to a light well. We were upgraded to the next standard when we complained.

Really central location and had real wow factor, steeped in history and rooms extremely spacious and well appointed. Staff very attentive and very nice atmosphere.

We were utterly surprised at this lovely hotel with top notch service and the history and glory of a turn of the century atmosphere. We fully enjoyed the sidewalk cafe in the evenings and the location was convenient to all the sites we wanted to see such as Grand Palace and museums and chocolate shops.

Fab location. Hotel had a decadant feel. Staff were excellent. Wonderful breakfast.
