Everything! That's why I gave it 10.0 for the first time on Booking. The room, the decorations, the garden and the breakfast, and of course Peter is a great host! Thanks!
Great location and friendly owners who are very informative about where to eat etc. Exactly what is needed for a short stay in a homely setting.
*Excellent location. It is within the inner ring, but not so close to the central square that frequent traffic is a worry. *Good price considering the location, quality of accommodations, and the inclusion of breakfast. *Very friendly staff. The owner (Pieter) went out of his way to make sure that we felt welcome and comfortable. *VERY clean! *Wood floors. This is a personal preference, but I dislike carpet. *Comfortable beds. *Very good breakfast between 0900 and 1000. *Easy access to running and biking trails. *The owner will reserve a taxi upon request. I think it cost us ~7.50 Euro for the ride to the train station. However, it is walk-able in 20 minutes.
*WiFi was a little weak in the garden view suite. *The shower curtain was a bit clumsy.
The decoration, the location and the breakfast were great. Also the welcome by the owner was nice, and he was helpful in advising for bike rental, dinner etc.
We stayed in the spacious Master Suite - furnished with antiques but with all modern comforts. Perfect location, 5 minutes from the town centre, and quiet at night. Great breakfast, and fantastic welcome from our hosts.
Pieter the owner was very friendly and helpful. The location is perfect, 10 minutes walk from the Belfry, parking just a five minute walk away. A typical Belgian house ---- with great character and atmosphere.
We were in the large roof room, which was very attractive, with exposed beams etc. But no bath in this room (unlike the other rooms), and the shower was exposed to the room. OK if you don't mind a little exposure but not for shy young things. A wardrobe or even a clothes rail in the room would have been useful, rather than storing clothes in suitcases throughout the stay. Despite this, we would highly recommend a stay here and we will be returning (but requesting a different room next time).
Pieter is an excellent host, the B&B is beautiful, it is like in the pictures. The location is perfect, the breakfast really good, a lot of food and every day different. Pieter es un anfitrion excelente... El B&B es muy bonito, limpio como aparece en las fotos, La ubicacion es perfecta, el desayuno es muy bueno, suficiente y variado.
The people in the roof room was really loud when they walk at 2:00 am and because the floor was in wood you can hear everything... it is not Pieter fault it is a guest without respect to the rest of the people in the building.
Pieter welcomed us and made us feel like old friends! He was extremely polite and I would rate him a 5 star host! He was also very informative and had plenty of knowledge of Bruges. The location of the B&B is great, about 3 mins walk to Astrid Park and 10 mins to the town centre. Breakfast was typically continental with fresh pastries and bread every morning. Our room was lovely, very comfortable and a real bonus to our stay. A large king size bed that was extremely comfy. We actually found ourselves coming back to the room and relaxing in the late afternoons, purely because it was so nice to spend time in it! A clean good size bathroom with a decent working shower. We stayed in the Cote Jardin room and I can confirm the photos on the website are exactly how the room is. All in all a great stay and I would recommend to family and friends.
If I were being really picky, the Wifi connection wasn't the best but you're on holiday at the end of the day so get out there and enjoy it! Or just do what I did and sit next to the modem if you need to send a really important email!
Clean, nice people, everthing was same as pics. nice breakfast.
Television screen has some problems with colors.
Both Pieter and his wife were very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was great and we have enjoyed our stay very much. If ever in Bruges again we would definitely stay here.
Location, beautiful rooms and great welcome by Pieter.
Would have liked hot breakfast, egg options, scramble etc
We loved the master suite, it was spacious and very comfortable.
I would have preferred to have tea making facilities in the room.
The owner is very helpful. It was our first time in Bruges and he was full of advice for us of places to go and places to eat at. His english was excellent and it appears that he speaks several languages. The B&B was spotless and was decorated with some beautiful furniture. Breakfast was good, although continental is not my favourite type of morning starts, it was still plentiful and fresh. The location was good, a short walk away from the busy main square. This B&B really did contribute to what was a lovely weekend in Belgium.
The room was a bit small but very cozy. Breakfast was excellent and The owner very attentive and even catered for my husband's gluten Intolerance and provided some delicious gluten free options for breakfast! Location was also very good, near the centre but not noisy.
Extra friendly staff and reception. Newly painted beautiful rooms. wonderful breakfast with cute stove in the corner.
There wasn't any thing I didn't like
The king size bed was very comfortable, the owners are very pleasant people and the breakfasts were adequate.
1. The room smelled like cat urine. 2. The B&B was advertised as having wireless internet, which it did, but the signal strength in my room - when there even was a signal at all - was so weak as to be unusable. The only place where I could get a strong signal was in the B&B's front hallway near the front door. 3. The "shower" was not really a shower; just a couple of plastic shower certains hanging from a circular metal ring above the bathtub. The showers curtains were so old that I could not get them to stay close enough together so as to avoid getting water on the floor and the sheet rocked; I.E.; non-tiled, wall. I do not like to take baths and because of the poor shower design/facility, all I did on the 2nd day of our stay was wash my face; leaving the rest of me unwashed and feeling uncomfortable the remainder of the day. 4. Our room had a tv and a dvd player but when I tried to watch a dvd, after loading the dvd into the player, I could not get the player to actually play the dvd. It probably worked but there should have been some instructions on which of the remote control's buttons to use and in what order.
Simply everything, from the location, to comfort, style, the design, the service. The breakfast was exceptional and of course the hospitality. Home away home. We decided to come again every year.
Lovely comfortable room, excellent breakfast, very clean, excellent hosts & good location.
The location was fantastic and the owner could not have been more helpful.
The hosts were very friendly, helpful, and spoke fluent English. The room was very nice and very clean. Breakfast was yummy with several choices.
I cannot say enough good things about this B&B. Pieter and his wife were wonderful. They were so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was beautifully laid out every morning. Our suite was AMAZING. Everything was so clean and the bed was unbelievably comfortable. The room was beautifully decorated. I have such wonderful memories of this place and will definitely be returning. Thank you so much for such a great stay!
It was quiet, intimate with very friendly and informative staff. Peter spoke very good English and was an excellant host. Great location and great breakfast.
Perfect location in the historical centre of Bruges. Pieter Meirlaen is an exceptional host.
