Best hotel I stayed in Brussels. Close to Schuman what was particulary important for me.

5 minutes walking from the metro station. free parking on weekends.

The mattress was old, with no springs left, extremely uncomfortable; the heating was either broken or switched off and it was -4c outside, so it was freezing; the blanket was polyester, not "breathin" or keeping one warm; the T.V. was broken, first the remote's batteries were too old & when they were replaced, the T.V. only had sound, no picture; the bathroom counterpane was cracked & the varnish was peeling off; the taps leaked; the tiles were cracked; the paint was peeling off the walls.

It was a short walk from the Metro. The lobby was clean and tidy and checking in was slick and no fuss. The room was clean and very comfortable. We visited at a weekend and had a front room but heard no noise from outside. As it was a weekend the bar and dining room weren't open in the evening but there were numerous places nearby. The breakfast was buffet style and there was hot food (scrambled egg, bacon & sausage) and plenty of cold cuts, cheeses etc, fresh fruit, cereals and pastries.

If you wanted coffee in the room it was from a Nespresso machine and cost over 2 Euros.

Very helpful and nice staff. We were lucky to get one of the few free parkign slots - it matters a lot in the center of Brussels. The price was very good (170+tax for 3 nights)

This is at best a 3-star hotel, with a small room, a bit run-down, and some issues with heating. Bathroom is ok but not too good. Mattresses sub-standard. A pity they charge 14 Euros for breakfast, especially as during the weekend there is not a single coffee shop open in the area.

Rooms are stylish with interesting decor. Breakfast is good. Location very convenient for EC workers!

My hairdryer and cosmetic mirror did not work. For the price over 180 eur for the room (without breakfast) it is not acceptable

Internet connection is really not good. Same thing with the business center, useless. Heating in the room goes via an air conditioning system which is very very noisy.

The modern furniture and the pictures from LeMans Classic on the wall. In total, despite my critics on the left, I liked your hotel. The room to the backyard was very quiet.

The curtain in the bath is hanging way to low. Free Internet is nice but useless with such a bad quality and low speed.

The staff at Newhotel Charlemagne was fantastic. We arrived early and they held our bags for us as we began exploring the city before check-in. They also held our bags after check-out so we could enjoy a few extra hours in Brussels bag-free before heading to the airport for an evening flight. The front desk staff answered all of our questions and were always available (24 hours) to ensure safety. The room was comfortable, and it was great to have a roomy, clean bathroom while traveling. Also, the location could not have been better! Newhotel is seriously a 60-second walk from Schuman, one of Brussel's main metro stops right next to the EU buildings. The neighborhood was nice and felt safe to walk in at night. The metro ride was usually less than 10 minutes to get into the main part of town, and the hotel gave us a pocket map of the city and metro systems for free. I would describe the hotel as professional, friendly and clean. Note, though, that we stayed for two nights in a double-occupancy room for 100 euro (plus the 7.50 euro tax per night from the city)... this was a great deal from booking.com... Normally the rooms at Newhotel Charlemagne are around 260 euro a night apparently. I would not even think about paying that much for this hotel, but it was absolutely a great, great deal for 50 euro a night. If you can get a good deal like this from booking.com for this hotel, I 100% suggest going for it! Great experience overall, and will definitely consider staying there again if I return to Brussels.

The *only* complaint is that the shower curtain in the bathroom was not long enough and could not cover the entire tub area. Also, it broke in the middle of the night and fell down several times even when we tried to re-position it. When taking a shower, we had to kneel so that the water would not shoot out of the un-covered part of the tub/shower. The rest of the bathroom, though, was clean and nice. My guess is that this shower curtain problem was just one left by the previous occupants and unnoticed by the room service before our check-in. Still a great place to stay!

The location is very nice if you have business to do at nearby European Commission premises. The room was clean and tranquile.

The variety of food for breakfast should be broader.

Hotel did charge for room and also took deposit for 15 days, lobby furniture need refurbishment, connected twin bed is not equal to double bed(dbl bed inquiry was made in advance)

The location was ideal for both the business I had at the European Commission and for visiting the city. (Three very short metro stops to downtown). The neighborhood was quiet, upscale, and ideal for a non- touristy feel. Lots of wonderful, varied, and very reasonable eateries in the neighborhood and good and fast transportation to the airport (express bus service). The room (double) was very spacious, newly renovated, very comfortable, quiet, and very clean.

The food (breakfast) at the hotel was good but a bit more attention to organic, healthy offerings would have been better.

1. King size bed was two twins pushed together - par for Europe but still. 2. Wifi speed is only 128 - painfully slow and iffy connection at times. 3. No complimentary bottled water in the rooms.

Ideal place for those visiting Brussels for business. Perfect location!
