we arrived late night, as we wrote in our booking, we requested for baby cribs, when we arrived was nothing organized, 2o'clock we searching for baby cribs with the receptionist, other ways everything was all right.
there is only one device could log in to the free wifi which is not fast. the room landline was dead. couldt call the loby .
Could not find how shower functions
Superb location, easy to get to with no. 12 airport bus. Staff are fluent in numerous languages and are more than willing to help you with any questions.
The wifi is quite poor and it often comes and goes. You cannot rely on it.
Too warm Wifi wouldnt work with iPhone
Helpful staff, great view from top floor.
Wi-Fi connection for multiple devices is not allowed.
Excellent location, near Schuman, very well connected to the Airport. I liked a small shoe polish included in the bathroom toiletries.
No remote control for TV in my room, however I was to tired to request it at the reception.
Comfort level: complimentary Wi-Fi, adequate minibar, NESPRESSO machine in your room (!), nice good-quality wooden furniture, good bed, nice flat TV...
The standard room is a little too small for the double-bed + seating area + desk. Some details (bathroom door, Nespresso machine) could use some maintenance. Using the staircase is like getting "behind-the-scenes" of the nice hotel, and could be improved.
Generally good overall compared to price paid
As a business traveller cancellation policy is too rigid. I had two nights and due to change of plans at the last moment wanted to cancel one night on arrival. Had to pay full price even though I had to leave as this was not possible
Overpriced.bad smell in the room
Fantastic terrace on 9th floor
Short of staff
The staff was really friendly suggesting us how to move within the city. Parking place for free (few visitors were there, so we were lucky) Really suggested for EU business trip. Facilities nearby.
City centre not reachable in a few minutes. Underground nearby without automatic elevator / steps.
I love that Newhotel Charlemagne is so close to the institutions. It is in a nice part of town where I can get out for a walk in the evenings also.
Check-out is a disaster. One staff member trying to check out too many people at the same time. Perhaps think of putting in an auto check out option.
location is good
aditional smoking fee
clean, big room, comfy bed. very nice overall, would recommend it.
poor wifi in the room, ok signal at the reception. the ventilation in the room was quite noisy. the is no heating in the bathroom, which makes it quite cold.
i came here for brussel half marathon. the hotel is 5 min walk from the start line. they also provide rooms after the event when the runners want to take showers. i appreciate that (although i dont use the facility)
comfort, ease of access, friendly staff
The hotel location is excellent for those who want to stay in the proximity of EU institutions.
The internet connection is really poor with continuous disruptions. The internet connection also depends on the room location. The rooms located in the lobby extremities have even poorer wi-fi connection. Another strange thing is the fact that in case of multiple devices (laptop, smart phone, etc) you need different credentials. This info I figure out myself and not being told by the hotel staff as should have been the case. Last and not least the room lighting system very poor. You can barely read something once it gets dark outside.
Proximity to EU institutions Good WiFi Quiet area (at the w/end) Proximity to Metro Very comfortable bed
It's a little jaded in terms of decor The shower mechanism is very strange Not very many dining options in the immediate vicinity
For the price we payed this hotel is brilliant, great reception staff, safe parking for our car, highly recommended
In spite of its central location, the Newhotel Charlemagne is in a quiet side street within easy walking distance of plentiful restaurants of every type. My room was of a good size, the bed comfortable with fine soft pillows.
The hotel can feel a little like Marie Celeste & service is reluctant in a laid-back negligent manner. Breakfast is adequate but not exciting & no other meals are offered (the restaurants nearby compensate for that). I wasn't able to establish any times the bar is open, but no-one was around to ask - or to serve!
room, cleanliness and comfort.
wifi is for a single device and poor.you have no tea facilities but a coffe machine charging 2.50 euro per coffe.. no pc available for guests. i am not expecting an hotel like this to fall on such details. if stated free wifi i am expecting a free wifi.
