Comfort and cleanliness of room as well as breakfast
Poor WiFi connection
Clean and large room,Large bathroom
Hot water not available during shower rush hour
We appreciated the stylish furniture and design of both our room, the reception and the corridors. A big plus is the location: close to city center and the European commision with many bars/pubs/restaurants nearby. The next underground stop is a 2 mins walk away while there are also beautiful parks within walkable distance. The breakfast buffet is rich and worth the 15€ per morning+person
Unfortunately, we struggled a lot with our safe. Since there are no instructions how to use it we just tried a code and then couldn't open it anymore. Therefore we had to call for assistance to have it opened manually and consequently didn't use it anymore. Another down-point was the wifi: although the connection worked excellently, it is only available for one person at a time.
Next to the metro
Dirty, stains on the walls, linens burned with cigarettes, wifi only for one device per room, no kettle in room for tea- only a coffee maker for which you had to pay 2.5 eur, room extremely small, old furniture. In any universe, this hotel cannot be more than 2 stars. Huge disappointment, would never stay here again. Also, staff was very rude, we were supposed to check in at 2, but they told us to come back at 3. When we showed them the booking confirmation with 2 they gave us a room and it was not cleaned- we went back to the reception and they kept saying we told you it's not check in time yet?! Very very rude
The pictures online are exact .The room was very nice, bed comfortable .Compared to other hotels the price was a steal .I'm going to try other hotels in that chain in other countries, hopefully they will be the same
Bed was adequately comfortable. Bathroom was clean.
The staff was extremely rude. I was locked out of the hotel one evening coming back at 5 pm, because the automatic doors did not open. I rang the doorbell for fifteen minutes, and waited outside in the snow. There was not a single staff member in site. Finally, a staff came out to open the door for me. Not only did she not apologize when I told her that I'd been waiting for fifteen minutes, but she acted extremely rude, telling me that she was "busy." Wifi is also terrible in this hotel. Expect to be disconnected every ten minutes. I couldn't connect to the internet and ended up asking a staff member; she told me simply "I don't know," and didn't offer any help. Honestly, I don't know how the other reviews of this hotel are so great, but if I had known how rude and unhelpful the staff is, I would not have booked this hotel.
- location - staff
- Cold (heaters do not work properly) - place is outdated (saw rats in the toilet) - Wifi is poor (disconnects every time, one connection per room is allowed) - Breakfast is basic (not worth paying 15 euro for) - Price; even with the discount it is overpriced
Very friendly staff, big room.
Dark brown decor everywhere makes the hotel very gloomy.
we arrived late night, as we wrote in our booking, we requested for baby cribs, when we arrived was nothing organized, 2o'clock we searching for baby cribs with the receptionist, other ways everything was all right.
there is only one device could log in to the free wifi which is not fast. the room landline was dead. couldt call the loby .
Could not find how shower functions
Superb location, easy to get to with no. 12 airport bus. Staff are fluent in numerous languages and are more than willing to help you with any questions.
The wifi is quite poor and it often comes and goes. You cannot rely on it.
Too warm Wifi wouldnt work with iPhone
Helpful staff, great view from top floor.
Wi-Fi connection for multiple devices is not allowed.
Excellent location, near Schuman, very well connected to the Airport. I liked a small shoe polish included in the bathroom toiletries.
No remote control for TV in my room, however I was to tired to request it at the reception.
Comfort level: complimentary Wi-Fi, adequate minibar, NESPRESSO machine in your room (!), nice good-quality wooden furniture, good bed, nice flat TV...
The standard room is a little too small for the double-bed + seating area + desk. Some details (bathroom door, Nespresso machine) could use some maintenance. Using the staircase is like getting "behind-the-scenes" of the nice hotel, and could be improved.
Generally good overall compared to price paid
As a business traveller cancellation policy is too rigid. I had two nights and due to change of plans at the last moment wanted to cancel one night on arrival. Had to pay full price even though I had to leave as this was not possible
Overpriced.bad smell in the room
Fantastic terrace on 9th floor
Short of staff
The staff was really friendly suggesting us how to move within the city. Parking place for free (few visitors were there, so we were lucky) Really suggested for EU business trip. Facilities nearby.
City centre not reachable in a few minutes. Underground nearby without automatic elevator / steps.
I love that Newhotel Charlemagne is so close to the institutions. It is in a nice part of town where I can get out for a walk in the evenings also.
Check-out is a disaster. One staff member trying to check out too many people at the same time. Perhaps think of putting in an auto check out option.
location is good
aditional smoking fee
