The apartment was located off of a main tram route and was easy to find. It was decorated very well.
We weren't greeted by anyone so we got no recommendations or advice. The heat was turned down very low so we were freezing when we arrived. There was no hair dryer and the walls were very thin so we heard lots of noise from upstairs.
Friendly staff Good location Spacious appartment Good beds
was very hard to find and expensive
The location of the appartment is lovely. If you like little cafes and lovely little shops this is the area to be!
Excellent and helpful reception on arrival. Stayed in Apartment no. 2 on top floor (of 4 storey building) which is smaller than some other apartments, we think. Living room with Velux windows, kitchen area, bathroom of good size off this room, also with Velux window; good shower over the bath. Comfortable bed (2 singles pushed together and made up as a double bed). Very quiet at night so a good sleep is enjoyed. Takes about 15 minutes walk to get to city centre. In spite of the draw-backs stated opposite, we would be happy to stay here again.
A lot of steps to climb (about 64) to reach the apartment entrance and then another flight up to the bedroom. You need to be fit, especially when carrying lots of luggage. Mosquitos are a problem at night; we were bitten several times in spite of precautions - a general problem in Antwerp, we understand. A well-fitted mosquito net is provided at the bedroom Velux window but you have to be very careful with all windows at night to try to prevent access by the little blighters. The bedroom low ceiling height is awkward but it is a good-sized room. A lack of storage space is a dis-advantage, especially for clothes - could be easily corrected. Kitchen lacks an oven.
Location, architecture and staff
Bed and bad (both too small)
Classy, large appartment at great location. Has all facilities you need.
Location, bathroom and sitting area are very good
No good iron board, bad WiFi from bedroom and bathroom window is too open (no privacy)
Lovely appartment well furnished
Access to bathroom through bedroom. Bit far from the centre.
The design, the bed, the bathroom, the terrace
Nice well-fitted kitchen, comfy lounge. Good wifi.
Narrow staircase with many flights of stairs! Difficult to carry luggage up!
Good location, within walking distance to the historical center of Antwerp, close to the fashion district and the stadspark. There are various restaurants, bistros and cafés nearby, as well as 3 supermarkets (Delhaize, Carrefour express, Aldi). The street itself is not too noisy. Next tram/bus stop is Kasteelplein (to get there from Centraal Station, take trams 12 or 24. The 24 stop is on Kon. Astridplein in front of the Radisson blu (perron 3), the 12 stop is on the far left corner of Kon. Astridplein behind the fancy entrance to the Chinese part of Antwerp (perron 4)). We booked the large apartment. It was beautifully furnished and well equipped: The kitchen had 2 chairs, a table, a stove (induction cooker), a sink, a dish washer, a fridge with a freezing compartment, an electric kettle, a Senseo coffee machine, a toaster, a microwave oven, various cooking utensils and frying/sauce pans, dishes and cutlery, including bottle opener, bread knife, tomatoe knife, wine glasses etc. The bathroom had a wonderfully large tub, one toilet, two sinks, one chair, a large mirror with a small enlarging mirror in it, towels (1 smaller one for hands, 1 larger one per person for showering), and a blow drier/hair drier with various appliances, towel hooks, a trash and a bath rug. The bed room had one bed (1,60m x 2m) with 2 mattresses, 2 chairs, air conditioning, and 2 nightstands. We slept well. :-) The living room had a sofa, sofa table, chaiselongue, sideboard, tv, radio, moveable fan for hot days, electric anti mosquito plug. There is another small room/niche between bath and bedroom, which had a small desk, a chair, a large closet (Ikea Pax?) with hangers, ironing equipment and a hoover/vacuum. The whole apartment had enough electric sockets. The apartment was bright and spacious, with good light control. The interior had a lot of ikea elements, but they are well chosen and combined in quite stylish ways.
(Almost) no real complaints here, just some info for potential guests and some minor nitpicking: (1) CHECK IN works like this: There is a number written at the door bell which you call, then Mr Landi comes to let you into the apartment. So make sure to bring a working cell/mobile phone! I would have appreciated knowing this beforehand, since my mobile's battery could easily have been too low. (2) The STAIRS in the building are very narrow (estimate: little more than 50cm, the whole staircase is maybe 120cm wide). (3) There are large (and beautiful) pictures of naked/scantily clad women in the apartment which might offend some very religious people. (4) WiFi was mostly good, but not 100% reliable. (5) The otherwise well-equipped KITCHEN did not have an oven and the dishes did not include müsli bowls / small bowls (it did have soup plates, larger glass bowls and cups which could be used instead). The cover for the fridge was a little loose. The kitchen chairs are see-through plastic – stylish, but not the most comfortable (I switched mine with the one from the bedroom) (6) BED: We had paid EUR 10,- for extra sheets for the sofa, but when we arrived there were no extra sheets and no cover for the second blanket. We had to ask for it, when we would have expected it to be there in the apartment. (7) BATHROOM: The tub does not have a shower curtain, making it hard to shower without sprinkling water on the floor (sitting down for showering helps a lot, but isn’t so comfortable). The sinks had taps that were positioned in such a way that they hit the sink plug, which leads to sprinkling water = water stains on your clothes are likely. The sinks are very small, which I personally find impractical. The hooks for towels are below the sinks on the sides of the large drawer – took us a while to find them, and they’re not very accessible.
good location, well furnished flat, many nice cafés and restaurants in the area, nice host.
Upstairs was not the same quality of furnishings, bedside lamps would be a real improvement.
Very nice spacious apartment with everything you need (kitchen, couch, huge bathing tub, cable tv, reliable WiFi, etc) in an artists house. Great location close to the fashion district, many nice cafes and restaurants. Downtown is 15 minutes walk away.
Very tasteful interior design, good location and kind owner
Good interior design
bad location of the toilet
Nice host, beautiful decoration, space
quite noisy in the morning (after 9am)
We had a great stay, the accommodation was lovely as well as the neighbourheid. Much better then the area of the Keyserlei where I stayed during other trips to Antwerp.
The appt was very clean bright and really felt in my own appt. The staff is very prof and friendly . They listen to critics and are improving the appt to meet all needs. Will come back again
The stairs but part of the sharme of the building
We liked everything. Apartment full of daylight, spotless and very well decorated. Great bathtub!
Gorgeous loft style apartment with great decor. Functional space with everything you could need. The owner is lovely. He's an absolute gem! He even drove us to the train station when it was difficult to find a taxi!
Although there was air-conditioning on the main floor, the bedroom was warm at night.
Nice slice of authentic life in Antwerp. Great shower, super comfortable bed, very relaxed and chilled out house.
dishwasher didnt work narrow stairs no microwave no shower
Location is good. Bed, kitchen and bathroom are clean and comfortable.
Is missed an real iron board, window bedroom is not easy to close/open, bathroom window can not be blinded when showering
