Hotel 1815 is a historic hotel looking out over the battlefield of Waterloo, a 5-minute walk from the monumental Lion Mound. It has free on-site private parking.
Score from 297 reviews Good
Location great for museums good shopping but expensive .
Easy for buses, exploration of town, and helpful reception staff
Definitely did not like large, noisy (but happy) group of sportswomen who crowded out the breakfast room so we had to walk into town for breakfast.
no kettle in the room
convenient for my work and centre of Waterloo
no in room coffee making... Breakfast is good if you want to eat a lot, but if you just want coffee and a croissant you still pay the €14
Affordable stay Beds comfortable The shops were very close
Breakfast, wi-fi and also parking is free of charge.
Hotel corridors are quite a lot noisy daylong. It is impossible to sleep and rest. Hotel personnel is not polite. Housekeepers can not speak even a little bit English, so you can not make contact with them.
If you are stuck on the road. The adjacent restaurant was great.
very tiny hotel.
This hotel is a great place to base out of when visiting different areas in and around Brussels because of the ease of getting to main roads that allow you to go out in a variety of directions. The room was clean and comfortable and hotel staff friendly and helpful. We stayed at this hotel several times in years past and was surprised with the extended growth of more rooms, the sitting area and elevator. Didn't miss climbing the stairs with suitcases.
Our room was in the new section on the third floor. The window was built in the slant of the roof, which in general allowed us to have a lovely view of the sky. It was possible to stand at the window and look out - but then the good side to it was that you didn't need a curtain because no one was ever going to be peeping in. (Hated the window)
Hotel is in a good location for visiting the Waterloo battlefield, and within easy walking distance of the town centre. Bedroom was spacious, clean and with excellent shower. Good wi-fi. Good for an overnight stay.
Breakfast is expensive. We arrived just after a coach party had left. It took the staff a long time to replenish the trays of food. Room walls are thin and neighbours can be heard easily.
The location was good and the beds were comfy
Staff wasnt very friendly on arrival as we were delayed so arrived late and in the morning we were late for breakfast due to oversleeping and there was no alternative
The room and bathroom were clean.
The staff was non attending, checked in 9.40pm with a yawning ten year old and the front desk lady middle of checking us in answers the phone and starts to book rooms for who ever was in the other end. Unexceptable customer service. The breakfast room staff looked and acted so depressed that it would depress anyone to tears. Parking was a nightmare as next to s sports facility, no room, unless you arrived during the day or very late. Room was too warm (no a/c) and stuffy, if window open the street noice was too much. Bed was unexceptable, was missing the top mattress, hard and lumpy. My first Ibis experience and the last.
the absence of the water kettle
Breakfast had good variety, but was a bit pricey at €14. Staff were efficient and polite. Location was a short walk from town centre where there are many shops and restaurants. It is also well-placed for visits to Waterloo's historical sites.
The room was too hot - a sheet should be provided for those finding the duvet too heavy. The room faced the carpark in back of the hotel, which was noisy until quite late. As it was on the first floor, there was also noise from the kitchen exit directly below the window.
Everything was OK and I liked the integrated restaurant.
I thought the price was too high..
Noisy Harly Davidson Group
I did not sleep all night due to noisy people in the hall. The acoustic insulation is extremly poor!
Cleanliness, staff, 24H Bar, Price
Noisy Location, A bit small
Comfortable bed Clean room
Facilities too basic. Restaurant bill cannot be booked to room. No room fridge
Good location and late night check in allowed. Quiet room.
No coffee maker in room. Price of breakfast too much.
Staff were helpful, room in new wing very nice, food good value
Booked it assuming room would have air conditioning as advertised but only a small number did. Original room did not and would not have stayed as very hot and smelly. However manager did agree to move us to air conditioned room. Ibis website is mis leading
everything about the place it was well placed for us spotlessly clean staff were brilliant as my wife is disabled they couldn t do enough for us , we will be using ibis again and again couldn t fault it excellent
no air condition, expensive breakfast
We needed a hotel with parking near Waterloo battle fields. Ibis was typical sales rep motel. As such, it was good. The desk staff were friendly and helpful, there was an outdoor area out back and a small bar to get a drink.
Small room. Don't take your cat, because you you won't be able to swing it! But it was better than I expected!
Easy and straight forward accommodation. You get what you need. Friendly staff.
Breakfast was a bit pricey.
