Maryin's Relais was cheap and well situated. Room was comfortable and nice view of canal. Downside of location is very noisy road beside the canal so that couldn't keep window open. Staff pretty cool and not particularly helpful Place charges a lot for 'extras' like Wi Fi is 15 euro for a 24 hour period! Breakfast is average and is 20 -25 euro each.

The location was the best part - very close to the main square. Also breakfast was included and was more than adequate. We had a secluded wing to ourselves which was only accessible to us via stairs outside, so very private. Beautiful old building and furniture. Staff very helpful. Internet wasn't free, no tea & coffee making facilities in room, queen bed was 2 singles made up separately and pushed together, and our room required access via a steep narrow staircase only, so not suitable for elderly or disabled people. Could also hear lots of noise from a club on the street during the night but I think poor insulation is typical in Europe so not exceptional to this hotel.

I managed to get lost in the winding, old streets of Brugge on the way there, but once I'd got the hang of the street layout, the hotel is only about 5 minutes walk away from the central square, and located on a quiet branch of the canal. My room overlooked an internal courtyard garden and was very quiet at night. The week I was there, temperatures were as low as minus 10 degrees Celsius at night, and the double glazing in the old buildings was a little draughty, so I was worried I might be cold, but there were extra blankets and the heating (at full blast) was up to the task. The room was large and comfortable, and the staff friendly and helpful. Not really a criticism - but I didn't bother paying quite a lot extra for the uninspiring-looking breakfast buffet. There was a nice little café/patisserie just around the corner, and there is no shortage of places in Brugge to find coffee and cakes (in fact, in some areas there's little but that!)

The staff was great when we arrived!! We chose this hotel to celebrate our first year of marriage. On the reservation request flowers and a bottle of wine or champagne and we have no answers. When we reached the hotel the receptionist had no idea of what we ask and the room was nothing special for people who are celebrating wedding anniversary ... we were a little displeasure with the service of a four-star hotel.

the excellent location adjacent to beautiful canal and historic corner. Quiet garden rooms with easy access to outer door. Rooms were so clean really looked after, and the helpful staff ever ready to deliver answers to any questions or needs. The restaurant staff were very plesant quick with a smile or relevent queery. Nothing was too much trouble. Please try this hotel, you will not be found wanting.. A greatful British couple. JBB

Good location. Nice old building. Clean bathroom. Far from excellent Bien situado. Bonito edificio antiguo. Baño limpio y nuevo. Lejos de ser una maravilla. Bien situé. Jolie maison. Sdb propre et neuve. Rien de merveilleux. Fitted carpet (should be banned from hotels). Decaying furniture (there seems to be a confusion there between antique and old, decaying furniture).

Everything was awesome! We had a suite with a living room, large master bedroom, small bedroom for our child and spacious bathroom. The staff was very accomodating, the hotel is charming, the location is perfect: easy walk to everything yet in a quiet location. Loved it!

A very nice hotel with a romantic feel. The foyer and garden area is really lovely. The canal view room was an upgrade but it was very noisy with a busy road over cobbles underneath our window. The air- con seemed to be on a timer and kept switching off so it was very hot and stuffy without the window open but the road noise was terrible. The room decor seemed a bit tired considering it was an upgrade, and in the bathroom half the toilet seat fell off repeatedly and there was a huge pubble from the shower leaking. More a 3 star hotel than a 4 from our experience of European hotels.

Breakfast was very good. However, one morning they ran out of various things on table and they weren't replenished while we were in the dining room even though breakfast was far from over, The gentleman at the desk the second day we were there was very helpful. Location was good. Lovely common rooms and bathroom was nicely updated. They didn't go out of their way to help. Taxi service did not come and we had to ask for them to follow up even though it was obvious we had been sitting waiting for a long time. We missed our train as a result. We were also told there was free Internet and they wanted to charge us. Even with a supposed free voucher we were never able to sign on and no one could help us. We gave up.

Excellent location, lovely rooms. The room was described as a suite with two separate bedrooms but this turned out not to be the case. However, we were immediately supplied with another room at no extra charge to rectify the situation.
