The location was good. Didn't realise it had parking (which was our fault) The hotel is beautiful with lovely high ceilings and fantastically comfortable beds. The staff were very welcoming and friendly.
We didn't realise that in front of the hotel is a road not a pedestrian walkway! Not really a problem as very little traffic.
The room was so lovely, spacious, wonderful high ceiling and the most majestic wardrobe. The room and the bathroom were both large, spotless and comfortable, as was the bed. The staff were polite, friendly and helpful, without exception. The hotel was a 5 minute walk from the main square so location couldn't have been better. Breakfast was good but as you want to make the most of your stay, Bruges almost begs you to explore the cafes as well as the buildings, just to help you find the best hot chocolate and waffles! Would definitely recommend it as your place to stay in such a magical place as Bruges
Cannot think of anything - if i was being really picky two lights didn't work but I never told the staff so they had no opportunity to rectify it - and it really didn't matter as the room was wonderful and less light meant more cosy!!
The staff were helpful and friendly and spoke excellent English. The location was very convenient. The room was large and well equipped with safe, fridge and two armchairs.
The shower was very poor - only a trickle. the heavy curtains should have someway of being drawn rather than by hand as the hooks were broken.
Breakfast was delicious Staff friendly and helpful Very comfortable bed
Staff first class
Staff, breakfast and room
I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It was easy to find thanks to satnav. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was well appointed with everything as described. It only took me five minutes to walk into the central square however this is through shop and restaurant lined streets so a very pleasant walk. I used the hotel car park which was a minutes drive and five minutes walk. Very secure and 20 euro's a day. I did not have breakfast so cannot review it. Overall a good hotel at a very good price.
I was disappointed that there was no shower curtain or screen. The shower head was from a central bath tap. If I had used this the toilet and floor would have been soaked so I had a bath instead. Also I would have liked milk sachets not cream as they do not make good tea.
Room, friendly couldnt fault the hotel, really enjoyed our stay, gd indoor secure parking nr by.
Lovely hotel, our third stay here - very good location and small enough to be friendly
We had tea and coffee making facilities in our room, however our friends did not, this needs improving
Wonderful quirky building in a fabulous location. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Huge bed.
The bed was not very comfortable.
Good location, free wifi, very comfortable room, lovely en-suite, nice character to the hotel, reception staff very helpful.
I felt that some of the staff could do with a little more training or specific instruction, two of the three mornings of our stay the coffee urn became empty with resisidants tipping the urn to get a drink, why is nobody checking this?,it is resolved only when a guest asks, same with the bar, the guest has to go to reception and ask to be served. In the bedroom the striped throw at the base of the bed was stained, the room cleaned each day, bed straightened but this throw was not replaced, attention to the details. Breakfast is not value for money, only the very few people drinking wine for breakfast are getting close to value, average food and disappointing coffee, I have had this same breakfast included in cheaper hotels in other countries, we had a discount on breakfast but still €17.50 each per day.
Couldnt afford a canal view but it didn't matter, our room was large, beautiful and faced the quiet courtyard garden. Bed was huge and comfortable as were the pillows. Hotel was perfectly placed by 2 pretty squares and just off the busy area.
Actually.... nothing. :-)
We had high hopes for this place but what a let down. No heating in the room (and outside it was three degrees) no wifi connection anywhere in the hotel although they say it's 'free'!! Breakfast was poor quality and the system for seating people was a disaster. The room was top floor and lift didn't go that far. Carrying suitcases up a narrow staircase isn't a great start. The room was large and second bed was placed in the hallway. Only ine morror in bathroom, no lighting in one half of the room so couldn't even be used. Overall the hotel was terrible and cannot understand the previous reviews as others staying there were also talking about the same over breakfast!!
Staff were very helpful and friendly. Upgrade was much appreciated - we were going to move hotels after 1 night. Communal areas are beautiful. Location is superb. Peaceful setting only 5 mins from the centre.
Standard room was more 'Travelodge' than 'boutique'. Chipped paint and tired decor in rooms. Double beds are actually 2 singles. Small, tired towels and toiletries. (No shower gel in dispenser for 3 days!).
The room was spacious, clean and large bathroom. Liked looking out the window at the canal. Breakfast room was very attractive.
It didn't quite measure up to the pictures on the web site. We had a hard time finding the hotel. Some of the furnishings looked a bit worn.
Lovely old hotel in great location. Staff very helpful. Room was spacious & clean - old furniture added to character.
Location Hotel itself Room size and comfort of bed
Poor Bar area Location of room to close to reception therefore noisy Sometimes staff were not around as they seemd to be servging customer in bar as well as checking in and out guests
We did enjoy our stay at the hotel with courteous staff , excellent breakfast and great location.
The soap in the shower, old fashion ? i suppose I am but I prefer the soap bars !
We enjoyed our stay here. It was very well located; easy walking distance to most important sites. The hotel was clean, comfortable and had very courteous and helpful staff.
Nothing worth mentioning.
Close proximity to town square, shops and restaurants, without the busy streets. Interior of hotel could be labelled a little dated, but was in harmony with the feel of Bruges. Canal view room. Secure parking underground close by was reasonably priced.
It was a little touch of luxury, as a small hotel it was not spoilt by commercialism, the staff were incredibly efficient and courteous. The male receptionist was supremely helpful. The brief stay was made all the more special because of the hotel
Very little, some small touches to fixtures and fittings would improve the cosmetic appearance but nothing was sufficiently an issue to spoil the hotel
The location was brilliant - quiet but very near all the sights.
Hotel is a bit tired, decor-wise. But everything functioned well. The slight shabbiness added to the atmosphere. Wonderfully large room and lovely view of the canal, as requested.
Staff was excellent, they were all so nice and professional, one of the best service experiences in my trips (+23 countries). Hotel is in a quiet zone but very close to the city center. There is a bus stop to/from the train station less than 100 mts from the Hotel.
Our double bed consistrd of 2 twin beds together so it was not very comfortable. In addition, we expected our room to be more in line with the photos at the website (more elegant), but it turned out to be different and not special. Although the room had good size.
Very comfortable bed, large spacious room. Great location easy walk to the main square. Also places for breakfast very near. Parking available allbeit a short distance away.
Despite paying for a canal view we couldn't see it from our room as the windows were too high! Wifi wasn't good enough to stream a movie
