This Novotel is in the lively Saint Catherine district, 215 yards from De Brouckère Metro Station.
Score from 1477 reviews Excellent
This boutique-style hotel is a 2-minute walk from the shops on Rue Neuve and the City2 Shopping Mall. It offers spacious, soundproof rooms and a 24-hour front desk.
Score from 801 reviews Good
The staff are excellent. Comfortable rooms and little or no road noise outside.
Breakfast is very expensive.
Near the train station. It is very good by travelling from airport.
Wifi in the room is very unstable and constantly disconnects. Breakfast standard,I would expect more variety at the 4 * hotel .
The reception lady was wonderful and very helpful
Very clean and comfortable hotel. A short walk to the station and a longer walk into the heart of Brussels. Very convenient for Tour and Taxis (where we were working).
Loved this hotel as soon as I walked through the front door. The staff were incredibly nice, welcoming and helpful. The rooms are very nice with fantastic WiFi. I couldn't believe how quiet it was! Had a very nice breakfast before leaving and will gladly come back next time I'm in Brussels.
Very nice rooms, clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful.
The hotel is a little bit far away from the centre. No coffee making facilities in the room - it's a small thing, but I would have expected it from a hotel of this quality.
Pretty much everything. I was a bit worried about the location after reading some reviews but I didn't have a problem. The area was quiet late at night but I didn't feel unsafe walking around the hotel.
The breakfast. Costly for what was. We arrived around 10-11am and it was pretty clear that the hot food had been cooked hours before and left on the bain-marie. Unfortunately there isn't any cafes/ restaurants in the area, so you're a captive audience.
No fridge, no kettle, the temp in the room was not adjustable. The room wifi was never on, just the lobby one and the signal from that was very weak.
Rooms are comfortable and clean.
Breakfast overpriced and not particularly interesting
Comfort, spacious room, quiet district, 15 min walk to the centre
located on the edge of the business part of the city - poor provision of additional services (bar, cafe, bistro, restaurant, ...) in the vicinity of the hotel
- No shuttle bus as 'driver was ill' - Bar closed before 12am daily and not on Sundays - Green voucher for rooms not be cleaned must be used on the same day (they gave you in the evening) and the Bar closed well before 12am although they said it opens until 12am.
We stayed for 3 nights but did not ask for the rooms be cleaned as my son was sicked and vomited and we did not want to be disturbed. We left the two Green Vouchers (totalling 10€) that the hotel gave to the hotel's designated charity and advised to the reception when we departed. We are astonished by the hotel's unsympathetic and un-hospitable attitudes and the 150€ charge. To keep the room cleaned is the services and duty of your hotel (which is the same for all the hotels that we have stayed before) had we asked the room been cleaned during our stay. In fact, some hotels that we stayed before gave us upgrades and free meals and gifts when my son was taken sick. Even in the hypothetical situation that we used the two Green Vouchers (for rooms not been cleaned for 2 nights), it is still the hotel's responsibility to clean the room after we check-out (after the 3rd night which we did not receive a Green Voucher). It is highly unreasonable and unheard of that the hotel guests need to clean the room prior to their departure and the hotel will not provide cleaning services. They said the room status was terrible and "not the kind of service that we give". Are they suggesting that we need to give the cleaning services for the third night when we did not receive the Green Voucher? My son who has autism (as I mentioned in the booking request when I made the booking) broke the lamp by accident, and I do apologize that we forgot to mention that when we checked out as we are quite distressed by my son's illness and we are used to him breaking things all the time and completely forgot to mention that. I understand that it is usual for hotels to have insurance covers for the accidental damage by guests. If you want to charge us, I will agree to the 10€ charge (which equals to the Green vouchers that we donated for rooms not being cleaned).
Were robbed in Brussels, so we were upset, they took my camera with more than 700 photos from Euro trip for the last 14 days, but hotel was great
Free wifi in the room did not work properly.
The location of the hotel is good, the staff at the reception is very helpful. Our booking was a fairly good value for money which overrides the downsides.
I don`t think the poor laminate flooring along with the noisy heater blower overhead in our room matched to a 4 star comfort - even if you have a good sense of humor as we did and not pursuing luxury glam. The cleaning personnel is really noisy and we kept finding pieces of hair everywhere - even in our bed upon arrival. That is only a funny addition to all of these that one leg of my bed kept coming off due to its poor design. Sorry HUSA, you do need to improve your service here...
The hotel is beautiful, with wide rooms, nice TV and very comfortable bed. Despite it is a little bit outside the city it is very near to the North Train Station in Brussels so it is not a problem at all to get the public transport from it. I didn't interact a lot with the hotel personal but the times I did they were nice to me. The rooms were clean and the price we paid for our room was OK. I can't say for the breakfast because it was too expensive so I rather went outside to eat for half the price.
The worst thing of the hotel is their WiFi service, it is almost impossible to connect to the internet in the rooms, we called to the reception and it didn't get better. Despite the rooms were very clean I couldn't stop to notice that the ventilation system of the bathroom was always full of dust. Also the door of the bath tub didn't close properly so the bathroom was full of water every time we took a shower.
Layout of the room was very nice
At check out the staff was not able to get me the invoice / receipt and I was asked to leave my email address so that they could mail me the invoice. Nothing received so far
unacceptable problems with the heating of the rooms
Pleasant clean well located hotel
Rooms aren't soundproof and we had a barking dog diwn the hall for over 2 hours we rang reception who when the eventually answered the phone were going to investigate. We ended up going out to escape the noise. Then at 11pm my children had another guest open their door as they obviously double booked their room . Wouldn't recommend this hotel.
The accommodations were excellent for the price. The rooms were spacious and well kept. The bed was a typical hard European model but decently comfortable.
The pet fees were based on the size of the dog. Large dogs are 50 Euro per night per dog and small dogs are 15 Euro per night per dog. Breakfast was 19.50 Euro per person and not at all worth the money. It was essentially a continental breakfast with runny eggs and under cooked bacon added.
I loved the room, large airy room with huge comfortable bed. Also the secure parking was great.
Breakfast could have been better, the hot food was a bit disappointing.Otherwise a varied choice.
Good location for city and magasin 4. Clean comfortable but extra's expensive such as breakfast and parking.
Could hear other residents.
Good price....clean modern comfortable well equipped rooms
