Excellent WiFi, close to EU-buildings, close to North station (and airport), comfortable room at night. Decent but limited breakfast.
Having been woken up at 06.40 by construction noise, and loud traffic until ca. 09.00. Afterwards, silent again.
The hotel is very good for a business trip. The rooms are as depicted in the picture on the website, though the photos are taken from advantageous angles, to make them seem larger than they really are.
I did not try the breakfast, as upon my arrival they asked me to pay the entire hotel bill for one week in advance, even before I had the chance to see the room. This cut out my desire to take breakfast or anything from the minibar, although my original plan was to take breakfast at an extra cost in some mornings and pay in the end all the hotel expenses. The bathrobes are very much advertised, but when you ask for one they are doing anything in their power to prevent you from getting one. You can tell that it is not the decision of the front desk people (who are doing their best to be nice), but that they have been instructed to discourage any request for a bathrobe. The declared sizes of the rooms are highly exaggerated. A Double Executive room is supposed to be 30 m2 and is not even half of this, with bathroom including. I cannot imagine how small a Standard room can be, if it is declared to be of 16 m2. I think some corrections should be made in the advertisements, as this affects the credibility of booking.com.
Location and cleanliness of the hotel.
The extremely limited drink selection in the bar: no white wine or tonic water and the attitude of the man, presumably not the person i/c the bar who was at best offhand and at worst rude. Similarly the attitude of the Operations Manager who showed no interest in my observations about the above. The size of the shower - very small.
The room was ok, with a nice clean bathroom and everything one needs. Location close to the railway station and shopping.
You cannot walk into the hotel. The door is locked with creates the impression that the area is not safe. The reception is a bit strange and in the back you see the office of another nextdoor hotel. The receptionist did not speak Dutch/Flemish. The bed was too soft. The breakfast too expensive for what you get. Overall, nice attempt but a lot of room for improvements on many accounts. There are better hotel options in Brussels.
Well situated right next to Sheraton and Crowne Plaze in Rougier area Staff very helpful and in fact we were chauffeured to Charleroi airport by a staff on his day off very early on in the morning He informed us a taxi would have cost even more than this hotel car Room well decorated and clean and comfortable
Towels a bit thin Over zealous cleaners changed all towels even though we hung them up in the interests of being environmental friendly
The staff were very professional and efficient. The hotel itself is in excellent condition and is extremely good value for Brussels. The room was of a good size and very clean. It is five minutes walk to Brussels North station, and about fifteen minutes to Grand Place on foot. For a brief business trip, this hotel was perfect (apart from the pillows!) I would definitely stay here again.
The pillows. They were like sacks of cotton wool balls.
Location and cleanliness
Big room with nice view
Noise from construction nearby and orice of breakfast.
- Friendly and helpful staff - Enough space in the room (executive room) - Good facility: lights, air-conditioning, heat water, and mini-bar as well as refrige - Strong and stable wifi connection in-room - Clean and soft floor with carpet - Comforf and soft bed
- Breakfast not included - No internal parking, walking from public parking to hotel takes 6 minutes - I booked a morning call at 5:30, but didn't hear anything then.
Another excellent stay at the Progress Hotel. Friendly, efficient and helpful staff. Clean, spacious and comfortable room. Very fast, trouble-free WiFi in room. Tea/coffee making facilities. BBC on TV. Excellent location.
Breakfast could be improved.
Very central, quiet room, no noise -the quality of sleep was comparable and perhaps even better than that at home. The mattress and linen were perfect. The possibility to prepare warm tea and coffee in the room was highly appreciated. The receptionist was most kind. He spoke several different languages -including my mother tongue- fluently. He also provided me with a free roadmap and useful guidance.
The hotel was a pleasant surprise to me - one of the best I have stayed at in Brussels (within the price range). Very friendly and efficient check-in staff, very convenient location, the electric kettle and coffee making machine with complimentary tea and coffee
The bedside lamps do not provide enough light. If you want to relax and read while in bed, you can't because you can't turn them so that the light would reach the book or newspaper page. There could be more TV programmes in English. The reading lamp on the desk was rather 'tired' and refused to be fixed at the right angle
Location if you are doing business in Covent Garden are travel by train to the airport.
There was nothing inspiring nor impressive with this hotel. The staff and the room were just ok. Not sure why it's 4 stars. The location...not as close to the center as they suggest.
Room confort and cleaness
Some noise from the next room
The location was really good, close to the North Station and to the Covent Garden. The room was very comfortable.
Location, location, location.
Wireless was not working for 2 days in 450, but then I was moved to 453, which solved the problem. Air conditioning noisy. Windows could not be tipped. Television programs limited, old flatscreen.
the location, the facilities in the room (nespresso machine, tea making facilities, scales in the bathroom)
it was a bit cold in the breakfast room
Excellent location, which is only 2 minutes walk to the Brussels-Nord ( easy access to other cities); and 3 minutes walk to shop and dine; and 10~20 minutes walk to tourist attractions. The price is affordable. I like the lobby, where there are two lectric massage chairs, and wifi access. So I can be comfortable while waiting for airport pick-up.
My room was tiny (but cost less), and the wifi connection was too weak to function smoothly in my room. And the staff does not know which power transformer is US type.
Great wifi speed
breakfast is expensive yet poor quality
I have just had yet another excellent visit to the Progress Hotel. Friendly, helpful and efficient staff. Clean, spacious, well-appointed room. Free, fast WiFi. excellent location close to Place Rogier, Grand Place and Gare du Nord.
Breakfast needs to be improved: a bit expensive with very limited choice.
I really love that they provided a baby bed for my little daughter without additional fees.
Wifi reception in my room was poor at times
Everything was perfect the whole time i spent at the hotel. Amazing bed:-)
Just one thing that left me a bit uncomfortable: on the morning i was about to check out, the computer records showed that a pack of peanuts had been used from the minibar in my room. I was surprised that he couldn't believe that i didn't used the minibar at all - he actually went to the room to check if i was telling the truth. That pack or peanuts probably costs less than €4!!!
Good location, staff very helpful, nice clean room
