The location of Prokenburg is fantastic, the B&B is set in the countryside but you are only a 15 minute drive from Brugges and the beach. The hosts welcome you into their beautifully restored farmhouse. The breakfasts consisted of delicious local produce served in the dining room with an open fire. My family are feeling totally relaxed after our stay. Will definitely return for another visit!
What a great place. Axel and Guy are terrific hosts, and the house is funky-wonderful. Terrific breakfast each day. Excellent internet. Easy access to Brugge. We stayed five days and loved every minute.
Nothing. But if you're taller than me (5'8ish) or are squeamish about ladders, you might not want the loft room. That said, we loved it.
If you like older properties with history character & charm then this is the place to stay. The owners make you feel very welcome, a beautiful place to stay relax and enjoy.
friendly staff. The whole B&B is beautifuly decorated with some very personal touches. Nice breakfast and garden. Very cosy atmosphere
nothing to mention.
Very quite; well arranged -- feels almost like home
Located outside any village, etc. (but this is also an advantage)
Breakfasts were fabulous, picturesque location, beautiful walk along the canal to the station for the train to Bruges.
The noisy pile driving near the railway line at 7.15 every morning. Can't blame Axel and Guy for that though!
The garden is very beautiful and the location is very good. Breakfast is good and the hosts are correct and respectful.
We got the Moroccan room, not at all our style. The room feels claustrophobic and it was very warm, the window didn't have a mosquito net so we had the constant sound of the flying mosquitoes and motes during the night. The bed was not comfortable and the shower is very low. We were very disappointed as the whole theme and decoration was not something that we were expecting when we booked our room as the picture in the booking.com is different. If you have a disability you need to make sure you let them know as the access to that specific room is via a very steep and narrow staircase.
The welcome was warm by Guy and we were made to feel right at home. The downstairs bedroom was mystic and magical, with a Cambodian atmosphere. Breakfast on the terrace was divine. Well done Guy and Axel!
The grounds of the house are absolutely gorgeous and it was lovely to sit in the large garden, in the sunshine with a Belgian beer after we arrived. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the hosts are very kind and relaxed. The drive into Bruges is only 10 minutes so the location is good, especially if you come with bikes - you can cycle along the canal directly into the city.
We were a little disappointed that there were no hire bikes left. This wasn't really the fault of the hotel, but when I booked I had in mind that we would hire bikes and cycle into the city each day. Instead we had to take the train which only goes once an hour, with the last train back from the city at 8pm. We incurred a 35€ taxi fee for the 10 minute drive back from the city one night. We had a generator or something in our room that came on intermittently during the night quite loud and woke us up.
the nature of the hotel (house/hotel), the owner, and the house itself are simply amazing to consider. Parking and fast internet available, beautiful surrounding, very relaxing
I loved the friendly, casual way that guests are treated. Always with a smile and coffee in the morning. A magnificent garden to enjoy and very nicely decorated rooms. Ten minutes drive from Brugge and 5 minutes from the see the location is ideal to relax and have easy access to the famous town. We will definitely visit Brugge again and our accommodation choice is obvious: Axel and her lovely B&B Pronkenburg!
Lovely couple. Beautiful house.
Beautiful B & B, everything we needed, with very warm and friendly owners. Would highly recommend to anyone.
The staff were lovely and welcoming.
Super friendly hosts that encouraged visitors to feel at home and to become part of one of the nicest parts of Vlaanderen with info and ideas.
Very relaxing, lovely old house. If you appreciate old farm house's designed to a high standard then this is for you. Axel and Guy were very welcoming.
Very cosy, comfortable and quiet B & B with a fireplace in the lounge room. Only about 6km to Brügge and even less to Zeebrügge. Great for cycling. Very friendly, hospitable and helpful owners of the B & B.
Our room had own shower/toilet etc... unfortunately no bathroom door, but the bathroom was devided off from the room by a thick curtain. Bit more "privacy" for the bathroom would be nice.
The couple were so friendly and the breakfast was great! It was only a 15 minute train ride into Bruges!
Slightly quirky but comfortable and relaxing environment, friendly and helpful hosts, bike hire and varied bike routes available, Lovely old building with beautiful gardens, cute cellar honesty bar, free wifi and parking, attention to detail without being ott, lots of local info available, spare bed option in "ante room", we used it as our dressing room. Secluded jacuzzi area outside. Dogs are well-trained and owners check first if it's ok to have the around and even then keep an eye to ensure they behave (which they do). Great location midway Zeebrugge and Brugge, with local village Lissewege worth a visit, especially during the light festival
Slightly awkward access to room via narrow wooden stairs (but owner immediately at hand to help with suitcases), not the best sound insulation due to it being an old building so to be expected, breakfast overpriced for people that don't eat more than some yoghurt or some fruit, so made own arrangements
A lovely calm atmosphere from the moment we arrived! Beautiful gardens and the house was quirky and full of art. Lovely comfortable rooms for us and our children. A very pleasant stay - thankyou
lovely host couple, amazing location and house, full with art and unique decortions. very nice place to go if you would like to get away from the city life. rent a bicycle and discover the area! perfect!
