Hotel Rubens-Grote Markt  

My husband and I were up-graded to a Junior Suite upon check in. The hotel is located in the old part of the city within relatively easy walking distance of the places we wanted to see. Our room and bath were attractive and spotlessly clean. Beautiful!

Well-situated with the Cathedral, the Grote Markt and the rest of the old town just round the corner. Staff spoke very good English and were extremely pleasant and helpful. Excellent buffet breakfast.

It was a very hot night (25 degs in the afternoon) and we needed the air-con overnight, but it was a little bit noisy.

We stayed here only one night and were quite satisfied. Excellent location, reasonably comfortable, helpful staff.

The hotel was clean, comfortable and could not have been better situated for anyone interested in historic Antwerp. ALSO please note: we arrived in town exhausted and confused in rush hour traffic and without directions. The one way streets and changing street names proved to be too much for us to handle. After patiently trying to get us to the hotel over the phone for a good 10 to 15 minutes, we were finally told to park in a nearby square and hotel staff came to us, got in the car and ushered us back to hotel. And they managed to do this without making us feel like total idiots (although we were). This was above and beyond and great service. I recommend this hotel and their staff highly.

The location near the Grand Place was very good and reasonable priced nearby parking was also a plus. Also the receptionist was very helpful and provided good directions for parking.

We had a good stay, but the room was slightly pricey. Nonetheless, since they accept pets, we will probably stay there again.

Unfortunately, we only got to stay one night. It was crawling distance from Grote Markt and walking distance from many other cool areas. The room was comfortable, clean, looked out over a beautifully flowered courtyard and you could see a church spire out the back. Good food and beers are close. They check you in with a drink of port or brandy (nice touch).

I wish we could have slept in. One night and had to leave the next morning for the States and had to wake at 5:30. That's not a complaint about the hotel, just wanted to rant.

As I liked the hotel and staff very much, this is only a very slight suggestion that if possible for some way of having small snacks in the evening, in the hotel. However as the staff kindly ordered me a room service meal from the nearby restaurant it was not really a problem

Good service, nice room, excellent location in the centre of Antwerpen.

Location was wonderful - seconds from the Grote Markt with a wide variety of bars and restaurants around every corner. Breakfast was excellent - a good combination of the indulgent with the healthy.

Some slightly naff features in the decor of the public areas but bedrooms tasteful.

Helpful staff. Great location.

A bit noisy one night for a hotel in such a location away from main roads.
