Lack of lift but that is just laziness on my part
good location to visit all activities, restaurants bars museums in the South-part of Antwerp. good breakfast. nice staff.
rooms kind of outdated
The hotel has a charming decor in its reception rooms and the bedroom was very comfortable, interesting painting on walls not mass produced art, soft bed, clean sheets, good TV and Wi fi Young woman at reception was extremely friendly. The location is excellent for driving. We parked for a few euros just outside the front door and caught a tram into the old city. This wa sgreat-we didn't have to drive around Antwerp.
The rooms need bedside lights and possibly a kettle and tea/coffee. I'd like a duvet rather than blankets (thought blanket needed changing). The breakfast is a bit sparce even for this price but perfectly adequate.
The beautiful ground floor and the charming and helpful manageress.
The way in which the furniture was covered and arranged in the sitting room, the tables there, and the starkness of the bedroom. It would not take much to make the principal rioms much more attractive and usable or the bedrooms.
Nice building In the center of Antwerpen
Payed parking Locked room that was the fire escape
Very nice and accommodating, excellent room and a lovely breakfast buffet. (don't expect a large American style buffet)
Comfortable and quiet room. Staff very helpful. Public rooms either Louis Quinze or Art Nouveau, fascinating. Decent breakfast. Close to tram lines; you can buy tickets from the hotel.
This hotel gives an unique opportunity to experience how high class inhabitants in Antwerp were living 100 years ago. The living and dining area were so well restоred that can evoke many dreams for romantic people. Rooms were perfectly renewed and were interesting combination of old and new. I have stayed in many fancy hotels, but this is the only place that touched my dreams. The staff is so friendly that you get a feeling that you are quest in their own home. I strongly recommend this hotel to all romantic people and dreamers.
zeer grote kamer en badkamer
had meer verwacht van ontbijt
staff- kind and friendly, and a huge room which I had. i love a way how hotel is decorated, like you would be in a different word- went to the past to the beginning of 20th century. good location, you feel that you are in Antwerp and you have in a near plenty of restaurants and pubs to choose, as well you can go for a walk and see many nice places around.
lack of lift- it was really big minus in my case for that hotel- steep stairs, heavy suitcase, and a room on the 2nd floor... :/ it was tough experience for me as a woman. breakfast- simple and tasty, i felt just lack of vegetables.
Full of character Took you back to the Art Deco period
3rd floor bedroom and no lift for some people could be quite a challenge We looked upon it as an exercise !!!!
Food & late buffet breakfast.
Walking up narrow stairs to the room - 4th floor. No elevator. Nasty smell from the drains in the bathroom. Other than that was great!
First I was offered a small depressing room which had a very bad smell. I couldn't sleep there in any case. After I complained about the smell they offered me another room under the roof. Very poor, old and depressing hotel. No elevator.
A spacious family room and bathroom. Free and fast Wi-Fi.
Be careful with paying with credit card,- ensure that you are paying in local currency.
The owners-nice people. And a quality breakfast with a large selection of things to eat and drink.
Very simple rooms, like a hostel...But the same price of a hotel. Terrible smell!! When we arrived,we were on the ground floor and the temperature in the room was at least 37*C at night time, when windows are open I can't even imagine what it was like on the top floors it must have been awful. My advice is to get some fans and/or air conditioning. My daughter asked the reception for a cold drink or ice because of the heat, all they could offer was a small bottle of water which wasn't even cold they told her to get some from the shop, when there were zero shops nearby. Even in the hostels i have been to there was a vending machine with cold drinks. When we were in the room there were no other bins except the small bin in the toilet which we had to use they should put a larger bin inside there rooms. In the hotel there were rooms without a toilet or a shower,we saw people going to the first floor and sharing a toilet. No facilities to make coffee or tea. Two small glass cups on the sink in the bathroom- in triple room? HOSTEL! NOT HOTEL! FOR 102 EURO per night!
A decent standard.
Great staff friendly and helpful. Beds comfortable and water piping hot. Breakfast was adequate but not great.
Very noisy. Furniture a bit tired and scuffed.
very friendly and helpful personell (family run?), quiet room, beautiful atmosphere. I would definitely return
Beautiful fin-de-siecle fitures in the communal areas. Very helpful staff.
Room was a bit basic, but had all we needed
Good view, nice staff
The steak in restraunt is not so good
Everything was nice and neat. Very friendly and helpful staff, good but simple breakfast, warm room (in December) and comfortable beds. Parking on the street costs only 3,5 per 24 hours.
No elevator, staircase very narrow and steep. We were lucky to park the car near the hotel but it's rather hard to find an empty spot.
Very, but very old and basic. The breakfast was very limited.
