We chose Saint Michel because it was the only hotel that overlooked Grand Place. This was an excellent choice since our double room with center view afforded unrivaled views of Grand Place, the Christmas market, and the holiday carollers. The hotel staff was also very friendly and eager to assist. Will definitely stay there again. Having to leave.

As always the hotel saint Michael was a fantastic place to be for the Christmas markets and access to the grand place. The location is great and make sure if you are visiting in December to request a market view, as it is the best place to watch the Christmas light show. They are fantastic with families and can now do enough to make it feel like home.

Excellent location. I only slept there. Very convenient, close to station, metro, shopping, attractions. The breakfast was good. The restaurant has a beautiful view on the Grand Place. I will definitely stay there again, but will ask for a room with a view!! It will be worth it! The room was very very small, unattractive and hidden in a corner of the hotel.

The location on le Grand Place is its only redeeming feature. Free WiFi. The room was like a dirty student bedsit. No tea and coffee making facilities. Skinny single beds pushed together rather than a double.

Location location location! Hotel Saint Michel is located in the Grand Place, Brussels so you just cannot get away from the beautiful architecture and buildings in the Grand Place. And at night, the place just gets more beautiful - the lighting really enhances the architecture and the buildings. The service could do with being a tad friendlier and the rooms are in a dire need of renovation but on a winter's night, the room was very warm and it does have everything you need in teh room,...it's just a little old. But the location speaks for itself! The service could do with a little more friendliness.

For me the only thing I liked about the Hotel Saint Michel was the location and the restaurant. The room was small and old and in disrepair. The bedsheets were clean but the carpet was old and dirty. I understand that there may be better rooms but mine was unacceptable. I asked to be moved but was told that the hotel was full. Anyway I survived but the memory of the room will bring me no joy. Nice view from the restaurant, good food, the people were friendly and kind. This could be the least expensive room around but if you are accustomed to any level of luxury book elsewhere, you can always come to the restaurant anyway. The hotel is old and run down. If you have a room without a view you have nothing but a basic roof over your head and a cramped little quarters. You will not remember this as one of the best places you have ever stayed, certainly not. Needs renovation badly.

I liked the location, but especially the room in its old glory. The tv was somewhat outdated. The wall-plug in the bathroom need some attention.

We had a back room at the hotel, which meant there was no view, but no noise from the square either. You get the view at breakfast, and the minute you step outside. The hotel is overdue for redecoration, but it was clean and very comfortable - cotton sheets, two pillows, that sort of thing. The room itself was big by European city standards, and had two comfortable chairs and a separate lobby. The breakfast was excellent. For the price, the hotel was good value I'd say. I'd recommend it, with some reservations, to some of my friends. The room we stayed in had been a smoking room and was ingrained with the smell of cigarettes. You couldn't really sleep with the windows open as the vents from the kitchens brought up smells and a lot of noise.

The breakfast with warm baguettes is a dream, and the view to Grand Place is a wonder.... The breakfast is a little late...start at 07.00, sometimes at 07.20, when the warm bread arrives...it's tricky if you have an early flight...

My wife stayed for one night in single room, I arrived next day and stayed for two nights. We liked the friendly atmosphere, clean rooms and beds, and of course the excellent location overviewing Grand Place.

I liked the fact that it was centrally located, although slightly hard to find as there is no sign. The room was so dated it felt dirty. It could do with a renovation as it is a shame.

The location cannot be beaten, we found the view of Grand Place breathtaking. We had a great stay. The only improvement I would suggest is providing Wifi to guests.

Certainly the view and the location The noise coming from the place, but if you want that view what could expect? Bath towels should be larger; bed cover more modern , the carpet must certainly be changed as well as the furniture.

Everything was excellent, the location, staff, all the service, but my room was at the back with window facing the small space with some pipes at the bottom of the space. The reception has immediately adjusted the price of the room to my full satisfaction.

It's difficult to categorize this hotel. The personnel were extremely helpful in their concierge role and as breakfast hosts. The entry and stairs are certainly minimal. Our room was very basic in furniture but large, with a good bed and a good bathroom. Also a 16th century mantelpiece//fireplace! The best was that the window opened onto the Grand Place of Brussels! So for us it was fabulous!! Our basic needs well met, and atmosphere with the window fantastic - though the room carpet and furniture were plenty but mediocre. Perhaps if we had a room on the back side it would have been a different experience, though still great to be right on the Grand Place (and quieter if a person cared about that.)
