Confusing that I saw on this website people talking about how their renovation work started in November 2014. We went mid February 2015, and even the reception was not yet finished, we were obliged to check in at the restaurant. The room had clearly just been finished (manufacturing sticker still on the toilet). For 96€ we were given a small room under the roof (couldn't stand up in the shower), with a view of a wall. Staff were nice enough, except the insistent chambermaids who waited outside our room for 15 minutes at 10am while my husband and I were busy using the room. On this website people comment on the excellent breakfast - I don't know if it has recently been simplified, but it really was a basic continental breakfast, nothing special. I really was surprised that for a well-organized first world city like Brussels, that a central hotel such as this would be so neglected. There is something fishy about the cash flow, as I'm sure they don't lack customers, so why are the renovations so late, limited and slow?
The location is of course excellent. Decide if you prefer the view, but with noise, or no view and quiet.
