The location is excellent, in the old town, close to the river and the shopping district. The complimentary breakfast was also really nice. I thought the rooms had character and the staff were unobtrusive. Could have done with a TV in the room as there's no facilities for relaxation. |

It was a very quaint hotel, one I assume was converted from a home. The staff were very nice and helpful and the continental breakfast was the best we had our entire trip. The bathroom was not in the room. We had looked at several hotels in that price range and the description led us to believe that this hotel had the bathroom in the room but that was not so. What a surprise when we found we were sharing the WC with 3 other rooms! We didn't appreciate that! |

Helpful friendly staff The stairs are difficult especially on upper foloors as there's no lift. Also room doors don't fit that well so hall/staircase noise easily filters into room especially late at night. |

Excellent staff, breakfast was realy good for the price we paid. Hotel is a bit noisy but luckily it is not a big hotel and guests did not return in the middle of the night being loud. The curtains let the early sun light in very easily so we were awake very early. Maybe we would recommend some dark curtains.....No lift and no own toilet but we knew that before booking so no problems on that. |

The new owners have made some positive changes, for example giving the rooms some fresh paint, installing a fridge downstairs (it is pleasant to have the possibility to buy drinks downstairs, even get them sent up to your room, for reasonable prices). Breakfast was nice too; good coffee. Overall some nice developments in the Scheldezicht. Still a few things to do, I guess. |

Beautiful room on a lovely square with, as the name suggests, a genuine view of the Schelde, and really convenient for old city centre. Also very friendly staff. No complaints given price range. People who like characterful budget hotels should like this place. People who want all the comforts should note it's a bit tatty round the edges. Also not recommended for anyone who can't manage steep stairs. |
