Was on busy street. Quite noisy Wifi not free
Nice, comfortabele , quite place.
WiFi for 4 euro a day is too much. Didn't see any staff during my stay.
- Nice classic building - Nice and clean room - Roomy kitchen and dinning room - Good breakfast (with different types of food) - Fast e-mail communication
staff [helped me] location
everything correspond with description. 1 time cleaning per week it's not ok, as i think. unfortunately i didn't take into account "shared bathroom" and "wifi for extra fee" in description, my fault. everything as described.
Wifi is expensive
Breakfast (though you have to prepare it yourself), classical building (if you don't mind its awkward locks, door handles, etc), quietness (our room faces backyard), express checkin/checkout works
Room somewhat cramped, floor squeaks loudly, shared bathroom (though quite clean), no elevator, staff phone message in local language and somehow not working, no free wifi
very cosy nice place
In a quiet location, whilst still close enough to the city centre (7 - 8 mins walk), it is far enough away from the rowdy student element in the Oude Markt to be relatively peaceful. Even the St Jacob church behind the B&B doesn't start ding-donging until 7 A.M. Close to buses to/from the station (4 -5 mins). Bed very comfortable, with plenty of spare linen, blankets and pillow in the wardrobe. Stayed here last year as well, and it ticks all the boxes for me.
If you don't get up early enough for breakfast, and if you have to follow the plague of locusts that appeared to have been upstairs before me like yesterday, you are not left with much choice. Yesterday, a large group ate just about everything there was to have. Because there are no staff present during the morning, to be able to replenish stocks, there were 3 bread crusts left; no cheese and no ham, and that was at 8.30. The coffee is quite good as long as you can fathom out how to work the contraption used to make it.
Paying for Wifi, Noisey front door
The location was excellent, the amenities were very good and the cleanliness was also very good.
The fact that there is no permanent staff in the hostel providing assistance to the guests. It is a bit weird.
+ It is an old house with all its charm. + Spacious rooms. + Generally comfortable. + The hotel is run "without" staff, but it worked smoothly for me. + Good value for money. There is also a possibility to use a kitchen for "small cooking" and store your own food in the fridge - I did not use either of the options.
- It is an old house with its creaky floors - WiFi paid extra Note: It is very likely you will not see any staff during your stay. There is no reception or whatsoever. So, if you expect personal contact with a staff member you will be disappointed. It especially applies to "self-service" breakfast, which is in fact do-it-yourself (and clean after yourself) breakfast. Not like in a typical hotel. Fine for me, but I imagine one could be surprised...
nice free space and free breakfast. clean bed room.
Good atmosphere, nice big old house.
No WIFI available for free..
Don't stay at ground floor
Good location, relaxed atmosphere and funky vintage furniture.
The fact that staff weren't on site made you feel a little isolated. Very hard to give good customer service when not present. The room was spacious but a little dowdy and musty. Overpriced for what it was.
there is no one to guide you at guesthouse. and breakfast you have to prepare by your own. not even single staff. really very poor.
Easy going and relaxed and feels more like staying with friends than in a hotel. Not exactly decorated like a designer hotel but it's comfy and our room came with a very nice bathroom, though the shared bathrooms also looked nice. Lovely idea with the shared kitchen area which made breakfast, (until 12, sweet) a very chilled out affair.
The breakfast was good and plentiful; the hostel was clean and comfortable; the location is strategic (10-15 min. on foot to the city-center; 25 min. on foot to the train-station).
For the price it was outstanding. A B&B/hostel that was so clean and well cared for. We saw no personnel while we were there. Breakfast we made for ourselves which was fresh and plentiful. We would go again.
The ambience of the old building is certainly a pluss. Although there is no reception and no staff present at all times, I think I saw the manager at least once a day around the house. The self service breakfast is convenient and suprisingly rich in choice (even if one is staying for a longer period of time).
The hostel is as quiet as the guests that are staying. At times it was very quiet and at times quite noisy. The internet. You can use the wifi but you are charged per 24 hours and the price is quite high. It is possible to use the internet for free in the common room but the computer they have there is very, very slow. However, it is OK as long as you have extra time to wait until it loads and do not need to open any documents...
The space and the location. There is a nice bright and large living room/dining room for the guests. It is pretty close to town.
The noise and the slow "free access" internet. It is a house, so wooden floor, simple thin walls. Difficult not to hear the other guests when they get back let at night.
Old building, however renovated, really great location and people. Kitchen ready all the day. Close to shops, bus stop, etc. Ca 25 min walking distance from the central station. Really great stay in Leuven.
if you don't have a cell phone, can be hard to contact staff
Very unclean rooms, no staff, the rooms have bad smell of mould. As we arrived we were the only in the house and the feeling was like beeing in the Graph's Dracula house. Breakfast is self served with some of old food, I decided not to eat in this house. So, I would never recommend to stay in this house.
