Very quiet, both with regard to location and noise from other occupants. I would have liked coffee/tea making facility in the room.

The style of the hotel. Received value for money. Narrow passage way to lifts and that area of the hotel giving the impression it is a tiny, crampted hotel.

The staff were very friendly. We don't normally stay in high end hotels and I was worried that we would feel uncomfortable but it was really relaxed. The room was lovely, the bed was really comfortable and the location is great! We didn't eat or drink at the hotel just because it was so expensive, but it is a 5* so that was to be expected.

Nice hotel, pretty classic decoration, relatively close to the centre (closer than most other 5 stars in the region) Room relatively small, and although nothing specific to criticize it lacks the luxury of a 5 stars

Location - near to Metro and to European Institutions. Vriendly helpful staff. Luxury environment - totally relaxing stay. Might be expensive midweek when institutions are busy but also does excellent rates outside these times -well worth the little extra. Nothing

Comfort, quiet calm. Facility to cope with a business meeting. Willing and helpful staff in the conference rooms. Lack of staff. No security on the door and barman a scarce sight! Some rooms small.

A charming modernised Convent with classical stylish furniture and decor. A bit more expensive than a budget hotel but worth the extra money.

Clenliness, pleasant helpful staff.Conference facilities good and delicious buffet lunch served to us. Also nice tea and cakes. Friday night took my 7 colleages to an excellent local restaurant as no brasserie with you for an informal and less expensive meal than the Dining Room. Was not warned that my room 101 had an upstairs bed! I am agile and fit and for 1 night it did not matter but for longer, I would have asked to be on one level. Was not able to watch the news while showering/dressing. Very easy for someone to fall on the stairs if using the bathroom in the night.

Staff were lovely, and accommodated us in a very nice and spacious suite. Hotel style is appealing and it's comfortable to stay there. Location was convenient. The area is fairly quiet and not much around bar restaurant wise, but you can access rest of the city swiftly either by walking or metro. Facilities (massages etc) were quite pricey even in comparison to top London prices. Bar selection was quite limited. Cocktail choices were strange too.. (eg Margarita made of rum and orange... not sure about that one)

We had an update to an executive suite which was amazing and we couldn't have asked for more! We had a very pleasant stay and i'd love to go there again. It's in walking distance of the city center but there is also a metro close by.

Good location handy for both city centre and eu institutions The hotel is completely unsuited for business travel. The internet connection is poor - it told me at one point that I had sent too many emails!! The was just one spare electral socket in my room - and that was on a cheap extension cable. While the period styled rooms are charming and pretty (including a lovely marble fireplace in mine - Room 152) the french windows are draughty and make the room cold. To make my stay worse, housekeeping had left almost 25cm of the mattress overhanging the bed base - the result was that I rolled over during the night, fell out of bed and cut my nose on the bedside table. Great location for a romantic break in Summer - very bad choice for a business traveller in winter!

Stanhope is a hotel with character - perfectly located close to the European institutions, it conveys the secret charm of Brussels that is otherwise difficult to spot in the eu quarter. The Brussels old centre, Royal Palace, Grand Place, etc are all in a walking distance. The rooms are large with nice extra corners, high ceilings and decorated in charming English style. Service is impeccable with nice small extras like having your shoes perfectly polished by the morning. Having stayed in the hotel at a quiet time, the price was also a real treat for such quality.

The hotel was attractively decorated, had excellent access to the eu headquarters complex, and was an excellent value. The duplex room with a sleeping loft was not as convenient as the single- level rooms shown in the photos would have been. The offered one hour of free WiFi was not particularly useful since it required consecutive use. Rates quoted to us at hotel for for additional WiFi time were higher than advertised on booking.com site.
