The food is amazing. Have dinner here, you will not be disappointed
Lovely hotel, a little different to the norm, good location just outside Bruges. Good home cooked food, welcoming host who spoke good English
Being charged for items we weren't aware we had! We sorted the problem out, but the owner wanted to charge us 50 euros per evening meal even though she had emailed me to say it would cost 39 euros. this was blamed on the Booking company not her own email
You can immediately tell that this hotel is run by people who like people, the welcome was warm as was the lovely log fire. The food was excellent and the owners and staff treat you like friends.
The location was great, like on a small farm. Very hospitable staff. Great breakfast with quality farm produce.
excellent hosts excellent food peaceful location nice spacious room
Everything here is amazing, starting with the lovely couple that run this absolutely stunning hotel, very friendly and nothing is ever a problem, whatever you want they will arrange it for you. The rooms are special and each one is unique, ideally you need to stay here many times to experience each different room or even the "Gypsy Express" for the romantics among you....! Will definitely be returning, thank you very much for looking after us. Ash
Having to leave was the hardest part but we will be back...
Its quiet location
The fact breakfast was 8:30 to 11:00, that aint breakfast thata dinner
Our 3rd year of staying here. Great location, perfect for attending the cycling festival at ooudenburg in July. Nice fresh homemade food and very welcoming. Secure and dry places available to leave our bikes over night....... look forward to visiting again next year
Staff were amazing and made our stay, hotel grounds were gorgeous, room comfortable and food fantastic. 10 out of 10. Thank you.
The owners, Jan and Ingrid, are very nice people who seem to genuinely enjoy running the hotel. While rustic and a bit unusual in design, the Hotel de Stokerij has a very charming atmosphere. Though we booked a small room, the hotel was under booked and we were put into a large room, free of charge. The bed was huge and very comfortable, the room's view of the countryside was wonderful, and our bathroom was spacious with a quality Jacuzzi tub. Breakfast was spectacular. As other reviews have mentioned, Jan is a professional chef. While the meals at the hotel's restaurant were a bit too pricy for me, the breakfast was included, with fresh smoked salmon, eggs cooked to order, fresh bread, freshly made cakes, local cheeses... We left for Bruges by bus, and we're even given a ride to the bus stop by the owners.
Our only complaint is the location, though the fault is mainly with booking.com. Hotel de Stokerij is not actually in Bruges, but rather in Ettelgem, which is outside the city. This is not far if you are driving, but by bus it takes about a half hour and then another fifteen minutes or so of walking. The flip side of this, though, is that the rural location makes the hotel's surroundings beautiful and peacdfulm
We have a one year old daughter and the location was ideal for us as she could watch the cows grazing in the field next door whilst eating her dinner. The 4 course set menu that we had on the Saturday night for only 39 euros per person was also excellent value and a must if you have the chance to experience it.
Fantastic hotel, lots of character. We will defiantly go again
Everything ..... especially the breakfast, huge selection of homemade, breads, jams, fruits, hams etc ..... a wonderful home atmosphere !!!
Great food from localities. Free parking.
