City Apartments Antwerpen

The location was great and the room was pretty clean. The staff have always been helpful and kind, though sometimes absent. Overall great place to stay and great value for money!

Very rundown bathroom, very cold and only tiles on the floor all over which made it feel even colder. Quite noisy.

Good location, decent kitchen

Laundry facilities did not work and reception was not open very late so it was hard to find them to ask for help. The corridors stank of cigarette smoke (the room did not).

We did not like anything about the hotel.

Rooms are dirty, equipments are not working, people smoke in the floors. Staff are not caring and dont know what 'customer service' means.

the location

the cleaning was barely done; appliances broken in the bedroom; no staff whatsoever to help. we arrived desperately in need of a toilet, with two children, being one 11 weeks old, and at the reception they said there was no toilet until our time to check in (note it was midday and the check in was at four pm)... the check in at 16:00 was also very bad, and check out at 10:00. we were not happy.

Location & close proximity to central station

a) Poor 1st impression - On checking in, barely any induction to the facility. b) On check in - Found the dustbin in the balcony overflowing with garbage, wall clock not functional, microwave door hinge broken (but no one to make you aware of same), balcony chairs worn out - Overall a dull impression. c) Had paid additional 5 Euro per day for wifi, however the facility was not available for most of the days during the stay. d) Uncooperative reception lady. When i explained to her that i was on a business trip & without a wifi i would be handicapped & would have problems - her answer was generic & personal "Everybody has problems" in lieu of suggesting a solution.

I loved the location, price and the lift! Most hotels in Antwerp are expensive and have tiny stairs but city apartments has a lift and the price was GREAT. The room was very kid friendly and I loved how the hot water never ran out! Definitely would reccomend to my family and friends.

Our room really needed the floor swept and some bleach sprayed in the shower, other than that it was great.

I chose this hotel because it was close to the central station (aprox 500m) and also to the Lotto Arena where are the most concerts in Belgium. Also near to the old town center. Nice and clean room with a lot of space. price vs quality ok

The heating system was working but it couldn't cover all the surface. Only an electric heater in that big room. Hot water stopped working during the shower. Towels were clean but overused.

This was a well designed apartment, home from home for a short stay -there were food shops nearby as well as it being very close to many other varies shops -trains and trams ran close by. Apart from someone randomly moving furniture in the apartment above there was very little noise and the facilities were very good, including iron, TV, music centre, hairdryer, kitchen equipment which included some pots and pans, (and they would give you more if you asked)toaster, kettle and microwave, plus full electric cooker towels, a welcome pack of teas, coffees, sugar, whitener and there was a well equipped laundry downstairs for general use which I had no need for use of but it was there.It was in a good area for getting to all areas of Antwerp easily.

Parking was a bit of a nightmare, although having said that I managed to find a parking spot each day. We were advised not to park in the garage downstairs as it had no security and cars often got broken into as it was dark and out of sight. The area was a bit dodgy to walk thought at night, with large groups of youths and men hanging around doorways. However, this was an impression, nothing untoward actually happened to either of the young men in my group, but they did feel uncomfortable walking back from the sportspalaise where they were travelling to each day. A tea towel for drying up the dishes would have been useful.

Practical

The rooms for my friend and me were a little dirty, with several broken elements. One of the rooms did not smell good and while the staff gave us a scented candle for the room, this is not really a good solution.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. We were offered parking under the apartments which was far cheaper than street parking. The room was clean and beds were comfortable - similar to that of the UK Travel lodge with the addition of cooking facilities.

Area - not a particularly nice area of Antwerpen. A few unsavoury characters outside and a couple of fights, screaming broke out during the night. No air conditioning in the rooms

Very spacious apartment, suprisingly so!! Great balconies (2!); well furnished with refrigerator, stove, pots and pans, dishes, etc. Extremely helpful staff person who met us at check in and check out. She was very busy, but she really attended to our needs with procedures, understanding the washer/dryer, local recommendations, etc. Quiet, except for a neighborhood dog which yipped throughout the night! Located near a number of ethnic markets, eating establishments. Easy walking distance to major attractions in Antwerp. We recommend the apartments on the sixth floor if they are available; however, the elevator only goes to the fifth floor and there are a number of steps to the top floor.

Parking was a bit of a struggle; it was on the street and you must feed the meter. However, there was not a charge for overnight parking. It is possible to pay in advance, $12.50 I think, and get reserved parking.

I stayed in studio apartment. Very spacious, a lot of useful furniture, kitchenet, garage (for additional money :-( ).. Old city - 30 minutes by legs (we are 60+ couple). Exceptionaly good for requested money.

Yes,i didn^ t like the old women from the reception...actually all the people are complaining abiut this old women,on all the sites,because she is very nervious all the time,she speak very ugly with everybody,she is screaming to all the people,if you go there to complain about something she starts screaming and she takes you out of the office and many other bad things that she do and say to all the customers,things that are not normal.I payed more than 1000 euros since i stay here and when i complained about the internet because was not working,she start screaming at me and she take me out from the office.What is this????You pay a lot of money and you can^t complain about anything?????

It was clean and facilities were good except for their internet.

Check in time is late at 16.00 and check out time within 10am is too early!! Although they say internet is free, its too damn slow and almost of no use. You need to purchase access codes for 5 Euros/ 3Gb for a high speed internet which turned out to be less than 500kb/sec. So, they need to do more on their internet facilities. I wonder if they will!!

The parking! We were driving through Antwerp and stopped over for a night, the parking was the selling feature for us! Also the staff that we spoke to had excellent English skills which enabled us to sort out parking during the day easily.

Our room smelled quite badly of smoke - a smoker had spent quite a lot of time in the room previously to us, and it was a little off putting as none of the party smoked.

My stay at the City Apartments Antwerp was the biggest mistake of my life! Nobody should be made to stay in this hotel for free. The lady at the reception was unbelievably rude and the hygiene level in the hotel was a big concern to me. I was deceived by the pictures they posted on booking.com which is nothing close to what they had to offer....THIS Place is nothing short of a scam, the pictures they have on the booking website is only to mislead potential victims... Do not stay here please if you don't want to spoil your holiday! I have pictures to prove wish I can post them for you to see. Booking websites should investigate hotels before listing such scams on their sites!

Parkeren bij hotel. Op loopsfstand van centrum.

Ik had gedacht dat er een balkon zou zijn, ik meen dat op een foto gezien te hebben.

Ziet er goed uit, goede inrichting, ruime appartementen. Prijs en lokatie goed.

Niet goed schoongemaakt, voornamelijk douche/bad en wc erg vies. Het water van het bad liep niet door. Kraan in de keuken ging niet meer dicht. Douche water bleef niet op temperatuur. Beperkt wifisignaal en gebruik (200 mb). Personeel beperkt aanwezig.
