Hotel du Bassin (Strandhotel)  

My wife and I only stayed for one night but I would thoroughly recommend this hotel. The room was not the biggest we have ever been in but this seems to pretty standard for Oostende Hotels. Other than that the room was great and perfectly acceptable after all we were only sleeping in it. Very clean and comfortable. Loads of free toiletries etc. They do a brilliant coffe in the Cafe/restaurant. We did not try the restaurant but it seemed very popular. The Hotel is very central to a large selection of restaurants. Breakfast was a tryical continental breakfast and perfectly adequate. It would have been nice to have been able to make some toast but that is us British for you; All in all a lovely hotel.

The location was great, as the room overlooks the port and the lighthouse. Without a view (if you order a room without a view) it would be just a simple room, not the best, in an ok hotel. The maritime mood it creates excuses some disadvantages of the room itself.

The breakfast is relatively poor; no lock on the bathroom door in the room (it wasn't a disadvantage for me). The main thing is the noise - if you get a room with a port view you'll get this view but you'll also get the noise of the main street where motorcycles don't stop driving around all night long and a big garbage car comes around 5:45 am. Don't forget your ear plugs! I still don't recommend staying in the middle of the city without a sea view because you may lose this wonderful mood.

Excellent location and very helpful staff throught the hotel. Rooms spotless with the Free WiFi a great feature.

De ligging is zeer goed, wel een beetje lawaai van de werken in de buurt. Het ontbijt is in orde. De kamers zijn proper. We zouden er zeker nog naar toe gaan.

Wij verbleven in de juniorsuite en deze is prijs/kwaliteit top. We hebben ook een kijkje mogen nemen in de vernieuwde luxekamers. Deze zijn niet echt ruim te noemen maar zeker in orde en met smaak ingericht. Het ontbijt is zeer goed, niet uitgebreid maar wat geserveerd wordt is vers. Koffie en thee (kannetje) worden aan tafel bediend en moet niet, zoals in veel hotels, aan een automaat genomen worden. Top dus. Hebben al heel wat 4* hotels aangedaan in België die van kwaliteit heel wat minder waren dat dit hotel. Wat ons betreft: een aanrader ! Ligging aan de Visserskaai vinden wij ook zeker geen minpunt tov de zeedijk.

Les plats proposés au restaurant sont raffinés et savoureux. Le personnel est à l'écoute et le service est rapide. Excellent petit déjeuner avec grand choix au buffet.

Manque d'hygiène pour le rideau de la douche dans la baignoire. Les chambres sont petites pour le prix demandé.

Je kan er genieten van een zeer verzorgd ontbijt en lekkere maaltijden in een gezellige ruimte met uitzicht op de haven. Een uitstekend hotel om er zelfs individueel te verblijven.

L'hôtel est bien situé vis-à-vis du port et du parking.Rapport qualité prix très correct.Chambre très très propre,on y reviendra.
