This hotel is in a quiet setting in a residential part of Bruges, next to the scenic Sint-Annerei Canal. Ter Reien dates from 1892 and is only 1700 ft from the Grote Markt. It includes a relaxation area with a sauna. Each of the rooms includes a TV, work desk and a private bathroom. Some of the rooms at Ter Reien boast direct canal views. Guests receive a city map and a museum discount card for their stay. The Basilica of the Holy Blood is only 1200 ft from Ter Reien. The Beguinage and Halve Maan Brewery are both just over a 15-minute walk from the hotel. A continental-style buffet breakfast with boiled eggs and croissants is served in the breakfast room each morning. The hotel also features a cozy courtyard terrace. Hotel Rooms: 26

Great location, situated right on a canal. For the most part the staff was very friendly and helpful...there was only one who was somewhat unfriendly. The room was large and very clean with nice furniture and comfortable beds/bedding. We were given a third floor with large windows and a canal view. Lots of light. Internet was fairly inexpensive @ 5.00 Euro/day. The breakfast was nice, typical European b-fast, however the coffee machine didn't work well. There were crepes at breakfast that my kids really appreciated. Will definitely stay here again! One "grumpy" desk clerk, difficult time parking (parking was a few blocks away and if you are unfamiliar with the area very difficult to find! We had to circle the entire city after missing the turn for parking - when we finally found it - it was full! We had to find parking on the street and keep returning to fill the meter, until later in the evening when all the day tourists had vacated the parking lot.)

Comfortable matress. Didn't like absolutely anything else about this hotel. Definitely not a 4 star. Shamefully smelly and dirty toilet bowl, shower cubicle a disgrace its so small. No air con, only fan provided in room. They even charge €5 a day for tea-making facilities ... in a supposedly "4star" hotel. Most unfriendly staff I have ever encountered. The "manager" even challenged an unfortunate couple in a crowded breakfast room about alleged noise in their room last night - within earshot and eyesight of all the guests! Gotten bitten by mosquitoes in room. All together an awful experience and not one that I would recommend to anyone, no matter how desperate for accommodation. Better staying in the youth hostel down the street.

The location is excellent, right on a picturesque canal and within easy walking distance to all main sights. The reception staff were very friendly and professional. The room was spacious and clean and comfortable. Breakfast was also very nice.

The hotel is very well situated. Close to all the attractions. Breakfast was very good, and we loved the pancakes! Our room was very small. There was no place to put your luggage and at night it was very noisy. The photos on Booking.com does not reflect the state of the hotel. Perhaps a good idea to force advertisers on the website to place new photos every year. At least then you know what to expect.

great location, easy access. parking not a problem.. no parking warden. There is ample parking though. Hotel nice, clean functional rooms. Bathrooom v small. Service with a smile would make it better.

The hotel was in an excellant location, close to all the sites and with a great view of the canal. The rooms were very comfortable, we had read in online reviews that the bathrooms were too small, and although not exactly large they were fine (and I'm 6"2!). I would highly recommend this hotel to anybody visiting this beautiful city.

Close to the shopping areas and fairly quiet location. Canal views. Breakfast very good. Some staff excellent others not so nice. The only not so good thing was the shower recess was very small and it was difficult not to flood the little bathroom with water when showering.
