-very friendly staff -clean room -really good breakfast -nice location
-the room was not big enough
Clean hotel in a fantastic location. Staff were very helpful. We had a family room which was excellent.
Wifi was a little difficult to get at times but that could be due to room location.
Good location. Small but comfortable rooms. Included breakfast. Even though wifi has to be purchased, it is only 2.50 Euro per room for the whole stay.
Off-site parking nearby ended up VERY expensive. It is 8.60 Euro on weekdays or 12 Euro on weekends, but the way they calculate the final price, we ended up paying 20.60 Euros having parked our car on Sunday at 4pm and retrieved it on Monday at 10am - a very expensive and quite unexpected charge for 18 hours of parking !
This hotel is an excellent choice for those on a budget. Great location and friendly staff also.
I can't think of a complaint except perhaps the lack of a bar on the premises.
lovely location. Stayed there last year and came back as we thought it was good value and very convenient for the centre of Bruges.
We has a three bed room in the eaves so no shower-just a hand held shower head-but no curtain or room to stand upright in the bath. The bathroom was not clean and there was an extremely dirty smelly towel on the rack-obviously not changed from the previous guests. All in all there was a really 'uncared for' feel about the room. The breakfast is buffet-style so the boiled eggs are only vaguely warm. One morning the croissants were hard and doughy, the next they were perfect. It was 'ok' but not great.
Great location so close to the centre of Brugge. Nice quiet location away from the main tourist areas and bars Secure parking close by.
City Hotel Tax on top of room price. Our room had a tiled stone floor that was freezing, rugs by the bed would have helped, please.
Clean comfortable hotel, about 200 m from the main squares in town. Despite this, the hotel was quiet (we stayed New Year) & we heard no noise.Continental brekkie in the morning, 8-10 was very nice and enough to last you til tea time! Can't comment on parking as we were on foot, the train station about 30 min walk away. We would certainly stay here again-small friendly hotel.
Nothing to dislike!
the location is ideal, situated on a canal and within 5 minutes of town centre. ample breakfast, clean and comfortable room, helpful staff
Good breakfast and friendly breakfast room staff.
No English-speaking channels (eg BBC News or CNN) on the television. Reception staff not particularly helpful.
Liked the accessibility to the centre of Bruges and the comfort and the cleanliness of the hotel. Enjoyed my stay and would recommend the Canalview Hotel Ter Reien.
May be include tea and coffee making facilities in the room.
Location, price, B'fast
Reception staff not knowledgeable enough about local activities, opening hours, their own free or discount coupons.
Name of hotel suggests view of the canal, but we had a view of a small Street and a volvo.
Location for Market and parking.
Breakfast is too late (0800), and had to pay extra to have something packed the night before.
The location was just right for us it was about 300 yards from the main square. The hotel was clean and comfortable the room was a good size with twin beds and shower room was also a good size. the breakfast was also very good.
The curtain on the shower room instead of a door.
We arrived after 9pm and we had the instructions to check in as we phone in advance. The hotel is in a very nice location and we enjoyed discovering various walks into the town. The street is very quiet. There is a bus station nearby to take you into town or train station. The staff was helpful enough when asked for information.
The room was basic. There wasn't any heaters in the bathroom and the heating was turn down during the day, which made the room uncomfortable. The towels were brown in color and were small, but were changed daily. The brakfast was fine, although basic and on the sweet side and there wasn't any variation. We would have liked some vegetables and maybe something more traditional Belgian. The hotel did what it's said on the tin.
Lovely convenient position. Breakfast room beautifully clean and we enjoyed our food.
The bathroom was a bit on the small side and was lacking in privacy
Close to City centre. Comfortable bed. Clean. Continental breakfast was good quality and plenty of it!
Very basic room. Size of the shower room and toilet was very small, with no privacy as the doors were only plastic 3/4 length saloon doors at the foot of the bed! We used the communal toilet as the one in the room was so small (think caravan size) We paid extra for the Canal view which should have been good. The problem was major building works opposite our room which included a view of the builders toilet!! Staff weren't interested, no apology and no warning of it before or on arrival. Only interested in taking our money. Will not stay there again or recommend.
Good location, beds very comfortable and clean and the breakfast, whilst being self-service, was very good. Guest areas and our bedroom were also well heated and we were there in bitterly cold weather. All round good value for money if you just need somewhere clean, warm and comfortable.
Tiny plastic cubicle for a bathroom with a fixed ceiling shower head - no good for ladies hair washing! It was also difficult to get you head near the basin to wash your face and had we been larger than average we would have struggled to get into the cubicle and turn around. I also deplored the décor - for no extra cost the interior could have been done in keeping with the style of the old building, as it is it is soulless and unattractive. A kettle in the room with some cups would have been a very welcome addition.
Location was fantastic, comfortable beds and value for money
Boiled eggs were cold, nothing warm to eat for breakfast not even toast
Comfy bed very clean hot shower. Small cubicle but not a problem. Belgian TV was awful! But amusing. Peppermill restaurant over the cobbled street was excellent if a little pricey. We would stay there again.
Great location and cute, cosy building
Walking distance from most major attractions in Bruges. Clean rooms and facilities. Excellent internet speed at a nominal price (Euro 2.5 for the entire stay of three days). View of the canal just outside my window.
Room temperature was a bit on the low side due to poor insulation (old buildings) and the small size of the radiator. Hot water in the other hand was dangerously HOT!! Probably to compensate for the small sized radiators...
